WOW! What a lovely surprise! I have had my eye on this for a while. I usually stick to MAC and Urban Decay - and even within those brands I stick with "boring" neutral colors (cuz that's what I like), and this one fit the bill, but who needs more neutrals? I do! This was on sale AND I had a coupon, so I jumped. WOW. The formula is superb! So soft and buttery without being dry and chalky. It goes on sooo smoothly. Great amount of pigment. I have found my new 'daily' daytime neutral. Definitely pick this up. It has replaced my Loreal Hip Duo in Shady (my previous go-to - i hit PAN on that one - then i bought another one and formula was TOTALLY different and chalky...hated it...i digress...)
Foundations -Eve Pearl - High Definition Dual Foundation with CosmeNutrients

Horrendous. I am a NC50 and thankfully I was lucky enough to be able to get the 3-in-1 foundation. I have mixed and matched in a bunch of different ratios and besides the fact that these give good coverage and blendability, it's awful! I think the 'oxidizing' theory is just so you're not disappointed when the colors don't match well. I've given it a chance and checked my face 1-2 hours later to see if it "matches becuase it's oxidized" and all I get is ashy looking skin and a GREASY face. Yuck. All hype this Eve Pearl, imo. There is SO much better stuff out there, even in the drugstore.
Thank goodnesss I got this on sale because I think it's awful. Way too orange. Waste of money. Unless you are super pale with bad shiners/dark circles, don't get this. In other words, if you fall short of that exact description, pass. I am surprised at all the hype.
WOW! This is amazing - looks like I wear false eyelashes when I wear this. Lashes are *so* well separated, dark, and sooo long! I can't decide if it's the brush or the formula, but when it's time to buy a new masacara, I may skip the drugstore this time and buy this.
there's nothing new I can say about this that hasn't been said before BUT i will say despite all the reviews, i had no idea the palette would be so BIG! this is really a GREAT bargain and i wondering if the price is correct for this?! lol...i imagined something much smaller, and to think this came with a beautiful brown velvety packaging + tiny UDPP + liner, i am so glad i fell for the 'hype' as it is not hype at all - GET THIS if you love neutrals like i do. i'm an NC50 if it matters, and the colors work great. lastly, i must say i got great advice a couple reviews down: just because it's sold out at sephora doesn't mean you can't get it from ulta (with free shipping!).
Fabulous color!!!! the one who compared it to aura is absolutely 100% correct. I was sooo sad when aura was discontinued. Bought this two days ago (found it at Cosmetic Company store) and jumped right on it - it's gorgeous. I'm a NC50 and totally ROCK IT without looking like a corpse (or so I think, lol...). With the right lipliner and lip base, it's just awesome and has great staying power. Love it! May have to buy another one just in case.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

I have been using Bobbi Brown gel liner forever and think it's just incredible and will always be my number one, but I still hunt for a cheaper alternative, especially since I want to try other colors. And here it is! It averages about $10 which is costly for Maybelline, but it comes with a stiff, little brush that is perfect for applying it with. Considering you can often find it on sale and/or coupon, I think it's worth it. I really really like it. I got it in brown, which at first I was hoping for a darker brown, but now realizing that maybe I just like black liner only, lol...I am tempted to get it in black to compare to BB gel liner, but why the heck would I do that if I love BB?! :) Get this - it's awesome.
Lipstick -GOSH - Velvet Touch Lipstick #134 Darling

I have been wanting this for a long time and refused to buy it online given it's all I wanted and shipping prices for one item was near darn criminal! I was extremely lucky to be able to swap for it and LOVE IT! I am an NC50/NW43 and love this lipstick. I am queen of neutral lipsticks (I wear neutrals and deep vixen colors only - what exremes!). Love this lipstick - quite versatile depending on what kind of lipliner you choose. It feels great - not too waxy or drying, imo. I knocked it from a 5 to 4 becuase the staying power is not very good at all. It's a shame. Reapplication needs to happen too soon, imo, and if I try to "cheap" by gopping on some extra color, it looks horrible/sloppy. Otherwise I love it!
You'll see that I have been reviewing a lot of ELF products lately - you guys have helped me pickout the best products and I have yet to be disappointed. WOW is all I can say about this brush. I use it for that last minute dab of loose blot or loose sheer or loose silica before heading out the door. This brush is EXCELLENT. Insanely soft. If definitely reminds me of MUFE HD brush but it's ENORMOUS. Likely too big for some people (could be used as a body brush imo), but I really like it. Do not get it for putting on your mineral makeup or buffing in liquids or anything like that - it's way too soft for that. Double-edged sword, this softness! :)
I hate to echo what someone else said, but it was exactly what I was going to say (so much so that I thought I had reviewed this already - ie I thought it was my review: "I like the matte foundation a lot better than the original. It covers better and makes my combination to oily skin look much less shiny. I also LOVE the new sifter! I still use liquid foundation when I want to look my best but I use this matte BE when I am in a hurry or on vacation. I will buy it again." The matte is absolutely excellent. I HATED the original and didn't get the hype (and still don't). The matte is fabulous - very good natural coverage and i SWEAR my skin looked soooo much better [without makeup] after 2 weeks - I guess mineral makeup makes a difference after all! I too tried the 10 day sample at Sephora, bummed to realize none of them matched my color but SO happy this did not deter me from buying the regular sized product (which they did have in my perfect color) - buy this!
Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush
sabine 2/8/2010 8:24:00 PM
Excellent brush! One of my top 5 favorite brushes. I use it for liquid foundation - does a great job. You end up using the tiniest amount of product and get amazing look. Stopped using all my foundation brushes when I got this. The 187 brush doesn't work as well as this, imo. GET THIS - esp if on sale, don't think twice.
Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
sabine 2/8/2010 8:19:00 PM
Excellent - don't even think twice. love this and I can't believe how CHEAP it is. I don't love the packaging - looks really cheap to me - but that's fine - that's what makes ELF so affrodable, right? so i got a MAC empty sifter container and put all the product in there - gorgeous! Thank you ELF!
Just excellent! If you are thinking about getting Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy by Bare Escentuals - get this FIRST - it's one fifth the price and has the SAME ingredients! so awesome. and just like BE, comes with a brush
i lost my absolutely fave gel eyeliner (BB - "old formala") and so pissed about it and have been holding off on buying anotehr one in hopes of me finding it. meanwhile, i saw this for 75% off, so i had to try it. it's not bad, bt not nearly as "black" as BB and it waers off by the end of the day. BB can stay on for days! lol... so it's fine for $3, but i would never want to pay full price. EDIT: this thing sucks. smears all over the place. not even really black. don't buy this, even if on sale. the packaging is all it has going for it.
The first time I used this, I thought it was crap. I really wasn't impressed, and thought the brush was soooo weird (figure-8 shape?! like two bowling pins stuck together length wise). my lashes were just darkened after using it, that's all. I would have given it a 1 out of 5. But for some reason, I decided to use it again and TOOK MY TIME. It was great! If you take your time to 'appreciate' the lengthening fibers, your lashes will look AMAZING and well-separated and dark. My eyes looked really really good. If I'm in a rush, I don't use it, but when I have a second, I'll use it, and always be impressed with the results. I still think the brush shape is dumb and unnecessary, though! : )
