Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Eye Studio - Spirited Seas

So I was very excited to try this palette because the blues looks gorgeous and the brown and champagne color were very pretty as well. The blues looked pretty much the same on my lids when I put them on and the brown didn't show up so well. I liked the champagne color but don't think the entire cost is worth one shadow. When my boyfriend came home after I was trying it out he said I looked like a Chinese opera singer. :( So while the quality and feel of the shadow are nice I think the actual color when applied leaves something to be desired.
Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss Of Olive Oil & Lemon

I was very excited to try this one out and even more excited when I finally found it. The texture is very slick and very buttery. It glides on smoothly and leaves a slight gloss to the lips. My lips feel instantly softer and it does seem to work into the lips rather than stay on the surface. The scent does not smell like olive oil or lemon to me. It smells more like jasmine tea with a hint of roses. Odd I know. It reminds me of a lighter version of Victoria's Secret Tea Rose that they made maybe 20 years ago. Overall this seems like a good lip balm with a slightly floral scent. I love the quenched feeling it gives my lips but I can see the scent getting to me after a while and it is kind of expensive for lip balm. So although I will most likely enjoy this tube I won't be buying it again.
Sunscreen -Clarins - UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF 40

So after Kiehl's broke me out I was hesitant to try another sunscreen even though I need one. I got a deluxe sample of this (just like Kiehl's) and tried it out. The sample I got is huge and I am actually still using it when I travel. I use the full size at home during the week. After 2 months of continual use I am in love. It protects without being greasy and seems to brighten my face as well. It is kind of pricey but Clarins is always having a deal of some sorts. I bought their FEED pouch that included this along with a body lotion and lip gloss and it was such a great deal (plus I help provide 15 school meals). There is also usually a deal for this when Nordstrom has their anniversary sale so look out for that. I absolutely love this sunscreen and as long as it loves me back I will always buy this.
Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Smackers Lip Sparkler - Mocha Jolt

I found this while digging at the 99 cent store. It was still intact and the gloss in the tube didn't look like it was rancid or separating. I have to say that this gloss brings me back to my youth when all the girls had lip smackers lip balms. The gloss is petroleum based and I'm sure there are preservatives in there somewhere which makes for a lip gloss to still be usable after many many years. The scent is nice and isn't too artificial or sweet. The gloss is slick and shiny without being thick. It actually softens my lips quite nicely. The color is sheer and the glitter isn't over the top or too big where it would scratch my lips. It feels really good on the lips and it wears okay for a slippery gloss (about a couple of hours). I would not buy this again though because I can never remember finishing one of these glosses in my youth and don't think I would now so one would be enough for me. But I would recommend it to anyone looking for a coffee scented gloss in a shimmery sheer nude color.
Concealers -Physicians Formula - Concealer Twins... Green and Natural
saban 7/4/2012 1:15:00 AM
This is a pretty decent dream concealer. It has a green correcting end and a light colored concealer. The light is too light for me and the green is really green. At first I thought I wouldn't be able to make it work but with a little experimenting I got good results. First off I blend a dab of the green with a liquid foundation so that it helps the foundation better cover my redness. This looks much more natural. Then I use a sponge and blend it out by patting it. I use the light as I would a Dior Skinflash and only put it under my eyes and around dark spots to brighten. I then finish off with powder foundation (stippling it on with MAC 187 brush). I works very well for me and looks very natural.
So CVS is having a sale on PF and I took the opportunity to try out a bunch of different stuff. Theses pencils are only waterproof because they are like grease sticks. You can't sharpen them, they don't really last on your waterline and they break after the first use because they are so soft with grease. Once the tip warms up it does let the color flow better and I really like the black color but they smudge like crazy once they get into contact with heat and unless you find a way to set or contain them with something they will spread throughout wear until you have nothing but a colored haze on your eyes. I will play with them until they break but consider this a lesson learned about buying products without checking their reviews.
Gels/Soaps -Olay - Ultra Moisture with Shea Butter

Remember when Oil of Olay first came out with body wash? I do. I remember my skin feeling like silk and never needing lotion. I remember campaigns for the stuff that came with a free bath pouf and stated that you only needed a small amount to clean your whole body. This product reminds me of those days. The smell is different but the softness and the lather take me back to my youth when this product finally convinced my mom to start buying body wash for the family instead of soap. This is the perfect body wash! Dense, soft lather, rinses clean, smells great and moisturizes the skin long after the shower is over.
Gels/Soaps -Olay - Ribbons Body Wash with Jojoba Butter Ribbons
saban 2/2/2012 3:42:00 AM
So when winter came around and my skin was feeling dry I decided to switch to a moisturizing body wash. Being conflicted at the drug store I got this and Olay Ultra Moisture body wash because they both claim to moisturize well and have different but pretty scents. When I first used this, it felt nice and the lather was creamy but not abundant. I rinsed off and noticed a film on my skin. I figure it was the jojoba butters and that it would absorb in my skin as I slept. It didn't. With my skin feeling so greasy I though for sure it would be moisturized but it wasn't. To be sure it wasn't just me, I used about half of the bottle. Throughout the cold dry days my skin was flaky, dull and had a constant residue. How could my skin be drier if it always feels lubed up in jojoba butter? Well that butter is mainly petroleum and that film was the remnants that remained as a constant layer on my skin making it unable to breathe and exfoliate naturally. Not to mention I had to clean my tub about 3 times as often because of all the grease. I will never use this again. I really have no use for it now. Just a waste of money..... live and learn.
Granted this is some expensive facial toner, but I love the way it makes my skin feel. It's like I'm being misted with the dew from a million fairy trees in the morning. I apply after cleansing and my skin feel hydrated, comforted and bright. It has the same pretty fragrance as the Radiance scrub and give the same hydrated and renewed feeling. I seriously never though a toner could make me this happy but this has become a staple for me and I will never be without it.
This is a great gloss and it feels moisturizing but it seems more like a glorified tinted balm. I love the color as it's bright but sheer and the floral smell quickly dissipates. But I find that I'm having to reapply this many times throughout the day while most glosses/balms I reapply only after I eat. Pretty color, great formula but too expensive to not last longer.
Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Velvet #37 L'Exuberante

I was convinced by the SA to get this color. I was looking at the nudes and the reds but she convinced me to try this color and I'm so glad she did. This is a bright, happy fuchsia/almost hot pink shade that goes surprisingly well on me. It kinda makes me feel like Nicki Minaj, especially when I pair this lip with thick lashes. The matte finish on this makes it more wearable for me as it's still flashy but muted. The formula on these is wonderful. I can't say enough on how lux they feel. But as for repurchasing this again, I doubt I will go through the tube I have now (which is an awesome tube). This lasts a good while but as with most all matte shades, it's pretty much gone when you eat something greasy. But it still looks like your lips are stained so it's not so bad. Definitely try out the velvets. The formula alone will have you hooked.
I got this in a gift with purchase set and after deciding that I was not going to give it away I swatched in on my lips and was pleasantly surprised. It's sheer, but pigmented and it has a yummy almond scent that doesn't linger too long. It gives a great "my lips but better" look and is so effortless to use. What's even better is that I applied it 4 hours ago and even after snacking and drinking it's still going. While I don't think I will ever finish a tube, (I have way too many glosses) if I do I would definitely buy it again. Or at least wait for it to show up in another GWP.
Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte Pearl Lipstick
saban 12/28/2011 6:05:00 PM
I had the SA try Sensual Silk on me and I really liked it. They were unfortunately out of stock so she says there is a similar color in the Pearl lipstick. I go ahead and buy it without trying it on. Big mistake there. While it has the same smooth and silky formula of the Rouge Volupte, it also has glitter. Shrapnel-like glitter that I can feel impaling the little crevices of my lips. The worst part about it is that once the color fades away, I was left with a glitter big bang on my lips that doesn't come off easily. So every time I reapplied, I had to wipe my lips clean with a wet towel so that I wouldn't be adding to the glitterness. I ended up returning it after 5 uses.
I love red lipstick and have many shades of red lipstick in my collection. This has got to be the most flattering red lipstick I own. It's a red that everyone can wear. It's long lasting but not drying like some other red lipsticks and gives a great finish. Once it sets you don't have to worry about it rubbing off on your teeth and there's very little color transfer with light contact (hair blowing onto lips) While it's pretty resistant to normal wear, you most likely will have to re-apply after eating. If you're just eating appetizers and sipping drinks then this will last you all night. The price is pretty expensive for a lipstick, but this will be the only red lipstick you will ever need.
The blush is great. I hate blush and will very rarely buy it (unless I think it's cute) but this is the blush I will actually use. It's the perfect shade and it can be subtle or built up for more color. Only thing is that it's a bit expensive and if there's loose powder then the compact doesn't hold it in so you get some color sprinkled randomly in your purse. But overall it's great.
