This beautiful, milky warm pink is the perfect pick me up for any face in my opinion. The lustrous finish and subtle silver shimmer is very feminine without looking remotely hookerish. This is my go to gloss which I can eat and drink in without it smearing all over my face. It also photographs wonderfully even in dingy bar lighting. The wear time is great but it is on the stickier side. When I wear this (20, blonde, blue eyes, NW 10) I very frequently get asked by women of all ages what I am wearing. Even my mothers friends have picked it up! I also like that it doesn't get skummy over time AND it smells and tastes delicious in comparison to something like Nars. Worth every penny! :)
Eye Shadow -MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Chilled on Ice
saarahkb4 5/28/2013 1:01:00 AM
This product is beautiful! I simply adore this primer, and it has made me neglect my beloved Too Faced Shadow Insurance which I thought would never happen. I love this product on my NW10 skin because it is a very pretty wash of champagne gold/pink chalked full of twinkling gold glitter. Some people might call it obnoxious but I'm a bit of a closet drag queen. I have worn it on it's own as a shadow and it layers wonderfully to build on it's sheer color. The glitter doesn't even settle in my creased, hooded eyelids, so queue the chorus of angels. Back to how it performs as a primer! Amazing! It enhances every satin finish shadow I wear (I don't bother with mattes as this primer would defeat the purpose) to make it more multidimensional. Stays all day, night, then the next day on the weekends when I party a bit too much. Also shadows are incredibly easy to blend on top of this. I am going to buy more of these pro longwear paint pot's now. How could I help myself? 5/5!
I was really excited to try this product seeing as I have terrible black heads on my nose and it's one of the main reasons I wear foundation. I figured for the price these would be super effective and I would have no regrets. Haha, so wrong. These did nothing! While they are easy enough to put on it is a real struggle to determine how damp your nose has to be when applying. Too damp, slides right off, too dry it bubbles up and does nothing. My Biore strips do such a better job (every single darn time mind you) which is a hard pill to swallow considering I had such high hopes. Save your money!
Absolutely amazing, Tarte has blown me away with this beautiful palette. Let me start with the packaging, it's adorable and sturdy with a handy mirror inside. Being the crow I am I adore the shininess of the container and it does not look cheap. Now onto the product. I will start with the highlighter, which is wonderful. It has the silkiest texture of any highlighter I have ever tried. The list includes MAC, LM, SB, Nars, BeneFit, and the like. You need the smallest amount or one looks overdone. It's a beautiful platinum leaning pale good shade without any noticeable glitter. This NEEDS to become part of their permanent range. The bronzer is part of their permanent line and once again the texture is so soft. It blends like a dream and the lightest dusting looks lovely on my NW 10 skin. It's matte as well which is nice because I feel as though if the product had shimmer it would look ridiculous when used with that wonderful highlighter. Also it doesn't pull orange at all! So you don't look like you are from Willy Wonkas factory when you wear it with the blush! The blush is the perfect orange which I can see working for almost anybody. It reminds me of those adorable yet inedible candy heart grams. Pairs perfectly with a coral lippy and every shadow in the palette. I love that this blush too is matte and very buildable. I wish I had a darker skinned friend to apply this to as I am sure it would be striking. I find it's a real pick me up for the face and isn't garish at all. Now the shadows have already been discussed in detail so I'll just leave it at this, softest, prettiest, blendable and most long wearing shadows I have ever had the pleasure of using. I have tried literally almost everything under the sun and these are by far my favorite. I wish Tarte would release more shadows in their line after using this, but I guess it's good for my wallet they don't. I'll simply say my favorite pairing is barefoot as a wash, hammock in the crease, blended out with poolside and YSL's glossy stain (#7) for a look that complete strangers have complimented me on. And my boyfriend, usually he doesn't say all the much either. So I feel really good with this on. Worth every penny, knowing the quality I would have paid double.
I simply adore this mascara and I have tried virtually everything out there. I expect everything from my mascara including volume, curl, length, definition and it must be easy to remove and I have no intention of losing lashes. This did an amazing job in every category. Plus the brush makes it so easy to apply because I get zero clumps! It's also a drier formula so it is easy to build and it doesn't smudge. Also interestingly enough it didn't look dry or flakey all through the Canadian winter which was so impressive because most mascaras look so brittle after being out in the cold as I wait to catch a bus. I have even been asked if my lashes were real wearing this. I would give this product a 6/5 if I could. I found my HG when I never thought I would be monogamous.
I have not used this on my cheeks, but I adore it on my lips! I feel guilty subjecting my boyfriend to skummy or sticky lips, so I looked to stains as in alternative. I was not having much luck as Benetints aren't very travel friendly, HG aura stains fade in a patchy manor, Smashbox stains bleed like crazy! I figured since this cost much less than ones I had already purchased it couldn't do any harm to try it and I am glad I did! Finally a sheer wash of color that faded evenly, didn't bleed, and did not have stickiness like YSL stains. Almost tried everything on the market, this is lovely. The only reason for four out of five is because it fades so much faster than I would like. But the applicator is beautiful, it's easy to apply, it has no offensive taste or smell, and it's a universal color. Worth it!
Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
saarahkb4 4/15/2013 8:30:00 PM
Absolutely beautiful! I would have never given it a second glance typically, but I received it as a gift. I am very fair and typically never wear bronzer but this is perfect. It is too sparkly to wear on my entire face but is stunning on the cheeks to give a healthy rosy glow. I have very oily skin and this looks glowing without appearing shiny or artificial. I typically put one swipe over my blush before I go out so I know I will never hit the pan. But I would repurchase if I misplaced or broke it. And it photographs beautifully, very deserving of 5/5 lippys!
Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Full Form Mousse
saarahkb4 4/14/2013 10:09:00 PM
This stuff is bloody amazing. I have incredibly thin and fine hair, and a very oily scalp. In other words my hair usually looks like crap, and I had given up on styling products. After being given this I am converted. It keeps my hair full of body and looking so much thicker all day long. There are no stringy, sticky strands and my hair doesn't even look oily at the end of the day (which is a first). No other product has done this. I bought the thickening spray and it works brilliantly in conjunction with this. I wish I had had this a long time ago! I won't be without it.
I love this product! I will start with the pros, the packaging is sturdy and had tumbled around in my purse many times without it getting harmed. The amount of product has lasted me forever, and I use it every single day. The powder is wonderfully pigmented and the wax shade paired with it is a perfect match. The two brushes and mini tweezers come in super handy. I wish I could give it a 5/5, but now for what I didn't like. What bothers me about this product is it is not a universal light. Despite being a darker shade of blonde, my hair is ashy and much more of a silver blonde than a golden blonde. This powder when applied with a less conservative hand looks very dark and unnatural shade on me. I personally go for a full, thick, Audrey Hepburn like brow myself, so to have this powder not work for me makes me sad. It would be worth repurchasing if it was in my right color. So to be fair "yes" I would buy this product again, if I end up dyeing my hair It is worth the money if it works for you, alas not for me. 4/5 for the poor shade range in the product.
Eyeliner -Tarte - Tarte SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner - Bronze
saarahkb4 3/31/2013 3:50:00 PM
Love! I was curious about the product, and all the good reviews prompted me to get it! No regrets! It's a stunning dark copper with a nice metallic finish unless blended. I love the thick pencil, and the sturdy foam smudger on the end! I use this as a liner on my lower lid when I do a smokey brown eye and it stays in place all day long. I also have used it as a shadow and it blended like a dream (I will post a picture). I will repurchase but I seriously doubt ill have too until it expires. You need so little I can't see using it up even! Which makes me feel like it was money well spent.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
saarahkb4 3/26/2013 3:26:00 AM
This is the first DS mascara I have bought in years, and it has trumped many of the HE mascara's I shelled out 6x as much for. I love the long, voluminous appearance of my lashes when I wear this. Truly zero clumps, and it looks so natural and beautiful. My mom is excited to go get a tube after seeing this on me. I haven't had an issue with flaking, and I like the brush. It works just as well at lengthening and separating as my Lancôme mascara at a fraction of the price. Worth every penny.
Absolutely amazing, HG status lipstick! For years my go to has been "Syrup" by MAC, a very cool, plummy pink. But obviously it doesn't go with everything and Lolita is now my go to warm lipstick! It is a stunning dusty rose which wears for hours without feathering, patchiness, or fading. It goes on so creamy and instantly perks up the skin. Any time I am wearing a gold or a bronze on my eyes I gravitate towards this shade and I frequently get asked what it is I am wearing! As a prior reviewer mentioned the packaging is both very pretty and durable. It wears off so evenly and stains the lips a natural MLBB rosy shade which looks great. I don't even have to wear a lip liner with this because it doesn't go anywhere once applied! Will repurchase forever!
Eye Makeup Remover -Sephora - Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
saarahkb4 3/21/2013 2:07:00 AM
This product is amazing! I honestly can't believe it doesn't get the buzz it deserves. I've tried them all, Clinique, Lancome, Avon, MUFE, you name it! I wear as much mascara and apply as much lash glue as any given drag queen worth her salt and this melts it all away at the end of the night. I have really sensitive eyes, and chronically dry eyelids and this is gentle and affective without leaving that terrible burning sensation. It works just as good as high end brands at an amazing price point. I recommend it to everybody I know, plus it comes in an awesome travel size to try. Try it and it will save you a ton of money!
I absolutely love this concealer and consider it my holy grail. The texture is smooth and creamy without being remotely cakey. I use it to cover up my horrible under eye circles and it works like a charm! Also, having cystic acne my blemishes are very dark, and this covers them up beautifully too. It also doesn't aggravate my breakout prone skin! It lasts all day and stays in place, no oxidizing or drying out. My search for an amazing concealer is done.
After running out of Cliniques "Even Better" moisturizer for oily + combo skin I decided to try this as a daily moisturizer. I was told the brightening component would help with my acne scares and it certainly has. I notice the hyperpigmentation has faded on my cheeks, but not as quickly as it did with Cliniques moisturizer. The smell is lovely, and it gives significant moisture for my super oily skin during the winter. I would give it a four out of five if it did anything for around my eyes. Sadly it doesn't, and I need to use an eye cream for moisture. Also it doesn't help brighten any of the dark circles. I think it's a nice product, there is better out there, but for the price it's nice. I wouldn't repurchase.
