Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream

I'm a big fan of multitaskers and initially purchased this for my super dry lips. While I didn't love the fact that it just sat on the skin and them formed a white line on my mouth, I rediscovered it when I ran out of another facial moisturizer. I have normal skin that breaks out and gets a little oily. This makes muslin moisturized and feel protected from the elements of outdoors and makeup. It prevents pimples from drying up too much. I use it after applying lemon juice and leave both on all night. So far so good.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine

This is, on my opinion, the best lip conditioner out there. The applicator is smooth an large to cover the lip comfortably and the tingling menthol and freshens breath and smooths while softening flaky skin to easily be buffed away. It's great over lipstick too.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 3 of 5

I usually don't review products unless they stood out for whatever reason. This is one of them. I was a big believer in this concealer for a long time. As a one time MAC artist I've seen the glories this can behold on severe scars and under eye circles. As I and advanced as an artist my tastes have changed and I veer more towards concealers that do not rub off or sit on skin rather than blend in. This concealer is guilty of both offenses. I've tried contouring and though the color is right it rubs and scrapes off so easily. When I blend my beauty blender actually pulls product up. I've used these in my pro kit for years but have decided to move on to something that is of better quality (not necessarily more expensive) and longer lasting rather than the cakey, blotchy mess these temperamental tubs of color are notorious for.

Styling Products -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil
rated 5 of 5

Holy Smokes I loveeee this oil! I have yet to try other brands of Argan oil and purchased this with the daily conditioner for BOGO @ Ulta. It retails around 8 dollars, is rather small but you don't need much at all. I love how it is organic too, just an extra bonus. Usually I feel hair needs chemicals for some tasks (straightening, conditioning) but this product is DIVINE. I have coarse, thick blonde hair that is dyed, highlighted and styled regularly. It's fairly easy to tame and train but before purchasing it was so tangled and gross, I hated the texture! I couldn't comb my fingers through it nor straighten it bc it just looked damaged. However, I saw this and thought for the price it seemed perfect for me (total sucker for a deal) and of course I looked up reviews and they were glowing. Enough rambling. My hair is soft, shiney, and sooooo silky. I use this after the shower in towel dried hair. I, unlike everyone, put it at my part as well a my ends, before and after styling. It tames flyaways and my hair is never greasy of course I do have thick hair so it holds up very well. Worth a try, esp for BOGO and I'd recommend the conditioner though for shampoos I focus more on gentle cleaning rather than moisturizing.

Masks -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 40% Lactic Acid Peel
rated 4 of 5
s55565 1/9/2011 10:56:00 PM

I'm writing this prematurely, having only used it twice. I wanted to clear up a few concerns I had so that others in my position would be able to enjoy this product. I have sensitive but pretty normal skin. I don't need a dense moisturizer but don't get oily. I do, however, breakout. I also have the beginnings of wrinkles. Venturing into the skincare world, I decided to try a peel. I emailed CS first and they recommended this one, with the understanding I tolerate AHA very well. It stings my face and itches but it's not intolerable. I get slightly red but never peeled. However, I am breaking out (normal because of exfoliation and resurfacing) and it's bothering me. It's not bad, it's just the way it did before I started AHA. As time goes by it'll stop, says the website. I will absolutely update and will not repurchase this level but will definitely work up to stronger peels. Love this brand!

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew
rated 3 of 5

Super cute packaging and that's the only reason I gave it a 3. This lip balm does nothing for my lips. It's also not great to wear under lipsticks because they don't seem to go on smoothly. It smells OK and the shape of the container is aesthetically pleasing but not enough to re-purchase.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
s55565 1/8/2011 1:23:00 PM

I bought this for 6 dollars at Harmon's when I was on a search for quick, longwearing, easy to apply coverage for my early morning gym trips. I applied when I got into the car and loved the color. It's the light medium and is a perfect match to my NC25 skintone. One peeve is that it's SUPER drying on my skin. I've worn mineral powders before and they've never made my skin feel tight and itchy. However, it does what it says and is long lasting. It has a light-medium buildable coverage.

Primer/ Corrector -Pur Minerals - Correcting Primer
rated 4 of 5
s55565 1/8/2011 1:18:00 PM

I purchased this primer based on the positive reviews on here. I'm on a constant search for the perfect primer to smooth out skin and make it seem airbrushed and flawless (ha ha, I know it may not exist but I'm a makeup junkie anyway). So when I swatched this in neutral at my Ulta store, I was intrigued. Rather than giving skin a slippery, wet feeling that Smashbox, Pure Luxe Eraser, L'Oreal primer, etc. do, it gives skin a really smooth but dry feeling (I can only compare to my skin after I give myself a peel, super clean and soft). For that reason I bought it. I've used it once so far and plan on putting it in my pro kit but it seemed great. My skin isn't pore-less still but it's not noticeable unless I look super closeup. I'll use it for now.

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
rated 4 of 5
s55565 1/8/2011 1:14:00 PM

AHA has changed my hyperpigmented skin and I will probably always use it because of that. However, the one peeve I have on this product is that it's not moisturizing. I dont like using too many products and applying this, then moisturizer and sunscreen seems like a lot to me. I'm gonna check out some other ones and will see what they give me. In the meantime, I'm playing with chemical peels and such so I'll update whenever I have changed my opinion.

Moisturizers -Lumene - Energy Cocktail pampering drops [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
s55565 12/5/2010 8:47:00 AM

This stuff is FABULOUS. I bought it because I had a bride client that had rough patches on her face and a lot of texture. This product made her skin GLOW and helped melt the makeup onto her face. Seriously, it's amazing and I've been using it on most every client ever since. I shake the bottle, squeeze a pump or two into my hands, rub them together to warm it up and press it into skin. The product has been revamped since the original post and looks/is called something slightly different but it's still recognizable. I bought it for 20 dollars in Ulta.

Loose Powders -Coty - Airspun Fragrance Free Luminous Translucent Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
s55565 11/29/2010 8:26:00 PM

I was sweating this powder from the first time I heard about it on here. Luminous? No glitter? Cheap? Sold! So when I finally got my grubby little fingers on them, I bought 3 cases so I could share the wealth. I was so excited to try this stuff that I did it in the car, puncturing the old container shrink wrap with a pen. I'm not gonna lie, it's SOOOO PALE! Idk how anyone wears this to set foundation because it's also very reflective. It's pretty and great quality for the price but Idk how many people would be able to pull it off. Now I use it as a highlight and will change my review if I necessary. I bought it for $5 at K-Mart. ***Update*** I love this stuff! I finally used it to set my makeup and it's so pretty and glowy, not too shiny and I definitely don't look oily. I can't wait to use it on brides that want a glowy natural look. Be weary if you have darker than a medium skin tone bc it may have a gray-ish cast.

Primer/ Corrector -Pure Luxe Cosmetics - Eraser
rated 3 of 5
s55565 11/29/2010 9:41:00 AM

I read the reviews on this product and REALLY wanted to love it as much as the others. I bought the 8 oz size and anxiously awaited for it's arrival, always being on the hunt for the perfect primer. When it came in the mail, it was the size of a Carmex lip balm and didn't look like the above picture at all, more like pink petroleum jelly. All you need is a tiny bit. I have tried smoothing it on skin, stippling on skin, pressing into skin, and I'm not sure what it's supposed to "erase". I'd also prefer it to be in a bottle with a pump. I'm still playing with it so if my opinion changes then I'll update.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Holiday 2010 LE Night Elf eyeshadow palette
rated 3 of 5
s55565 11/22/2010 9:32:00 PM

Strange to me how much buzz this particular palette received considering the colors are so...specific and not typically wearable. I think the red has potential for a smokey eye with the black (just a soft tap of it in the crease). The club dupe is pretty good but I also like Meerkat by Fyrinnae for this reason. The silver is SUPER cool toned which I don't love. Really not sure how much I'll be using this. Bought mine at Harmon's for about 5 dollars.

Polishes -OPI - You Don't Know Jacques!
rated 5 of 5
s55565 11/22/2010 9:26:00 PM

I really adore this color because it has the depth of the usual burgundies I wear during fall but it's warm so it doesn't wash out my fair skin. Like Cherry Chutney and Essie's Van d' Go I can't imagine not having this color as a pedicure option. Love it!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Palette - Greed [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
s55565 11/19/2010 4:04:00 PM

I'm sorry but I adore this palette! The colors are so pretty. The mattes are VERY pigmented. The shimmers aren't so much but can be worn as a highlight or over a dark color. I've been craving a smokey eye with a pink-ish crease and this will totally do it. I bought it for about 5 bucks from Harmon's.
