AWESOME!!! I'm in love with this thing! Soooo much better than my ridiculously expensive TM loose powder brush. So glad the LM rep suggested I try it when I picked up my new supply of translucent the other day. YIPPPEEE!!!!

Blush -Jane - Shimmering Blush in Roses

I agree with the previous reviews - very pretty! To decrease its slight shimmer, simply brush some loose powder over top.

When Chanel discontinued my beloved Blonde Cendre, I searched and searched for a replacement. Everything I found was either too dark or too reddish. Khaki is as close as I can get - looks very natural, easy to draw in hairs when the point is sharp, has staying power, etc. At $8 a pop, I buy a handful of them at a time, just in case they discontinue it (doesn't it always happen that way?).

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
rtbabb 5/24/2008 9:25:00 AM
I was looking for a less expensive alternative to BB's eye gels, and I found it in this product, thanks to our board! It's taken me a little while to learn how to work with it, but I've finally figured it out. The trick, for me, anyway, is to use an ultra-fine eyeliner brush and to wipe it off on a paper towel, in a swirling motion, before applying the product. This seems to help it from going on too heavily and tight lining is done more easily. I have it in black, but would like to try the brown, but it doesn't look dark enough, like BB's espresso, which was my former HG.

Mascara -Jane - Max Lash 2 Precise

Call me crazy, but I LOVE this stuff! My former HG was YSL's - I truly like this one even better, at 1/5 the price! Yes, uncurling is an issue, but I simply use my SU curler after applying several coats. A friend of mine is a Jane product manager, and he says it's been getting great reviews - somewhere else other than MUA, I suppose.

Fragrances -Chanel - No.5
rtbabb 10/6/2007 8:01:00 AM
I'm in mourning for the former No. 5 scent - such a classic; reminds me of going to church with my mom, who passed away 25 years ago. It had become my signature scent, too. I just purchased a new bottle of the eau de perfume and it doesn't smell ANYTHING like it used to. After reading here about the reformulation, I returned it to Nordstrom and the rep totally denied that it had been changed, blaming my age (47) for my change in what I thought it smelled like - how insulting! I'm now perfume-less and am on a hunt for my new one. My old faves are Chance and Clinique's Aromatics Elixir, but I really loved No.5. I also have a hard time finding a fragrance that doesn't give me a headache and makes me feel nauseous. Sooooooo bummed.

Treatments -Philosophy - Resurface Kit - The Microdelivery In-Home Vitamin C Peptide Peel
rtbabb 9/28/2007 9:23:00 PM
I received this as a Sephora sample, and after trying it a few times within 2 weeks, I have 2 large cystic pimples on the right side of my chin. I hardly ever break out and I always receive compluments on my 47 y.o. skin. The last time I had this problem was when I was trying out various silica(silicone)-based foundation primers. Well, guess what one of the main ingredients of this product is? Yes, you guessed it - silica! The other main ingredient is ...drum roll, please...baking soda! LOL! I guess good ol' Arm and Hammer is a safer and much cheaper alternative. :-)

I was hopeful - NOT! Clumps, clumps and more clumps, even when I wiped the brush off first. Waste of money in waste can.

Powder -Prescriptives - AnyWear Multi-finish compact foundation
rtbabb 11/22/2006 7:13:00 AM
I really like this foundation, though it dries out my skin and makes it feel like cardboard when used by itself. Having said this, I haven't worn it in the summer yet, so it might be perfect during that humid season. Right now, I'm using it to finish off the rest of my Prescriptive's base application. I have dark red/brown melasma on both cheeks, so I first apply their Camouflage Cream over the discolored areas and let it set up for a few minutes. I then dab their Virtual Youth foundation around and over it, using the sponge that comes with the Anywear. I finish by gently blotting all over with the Anywear, which leaves a flawless look. My only real complaint is that it runs out really fast. I wish the package had more product in it, but the way it includes the sponge and mirror, is really quite inovative. I also think the compact's shiny silver color is very pretty.

Concealers -Prescriptives - Camouflage Cream
rtbabb 11/22/2006 6:53:00 AM
I'm very happy with this concealer! I have dark red/brown melasma on both cheeks, and this provides complete coverage combined with other Prescriptive's products. What I do is put the Camouflage Cream over the discolored areas and let it set up for a few minutes. I then dab their Virtual Youth foundation around and over it, using the sponge that comes with their Anywear compact foundation. I finish by gently blotting all over with the Anywear, leaving a flawless look! I used to be a HUGE fan of Colortration, but they've had consistent issues with their pump-style packaging, leaving half of the product unusable. I've spoken with their customer service, and they've been trying to correct the issue, but I needed to move on.

Liquid -Prescriptives - Virtual Youth
rtbabb 11/22/2006 6:48:00 AM
I'm very happy with this foundation! I have dry, 46 y.o. skin and this really keeps it moist throughout the day. It may actually be too moist for the summer, but for right now, it's a God-send for me. I have dark red/brown melasma on both cheeks, and this provides nice coverage combined with other Prescriptive's products. What I do is put their Camouflage Cream over the discolored areas and let it set up for a few minutes. I then dab the foundation around and over it, using the sponge that comes with their Anywear compact foundation. I finish by gently blotting all over with the Anywear, leaving a flawless look!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rtbabb 10/26/2006 8:11:00 AM
What would I do without this magic potion? I have deep set eyes, and it's the only thing that keeps my shadow and liner from disappearing rather quickly. I have dry 46 y.o. skin, but my eyelids are oily, for some reason. THANK YOU, UD!!!
