BB Cream -L'Oreal - Revitalift Total Repair 10 BB Cream

Pros - I have this in "light" and the colour of it looks great on my skin, it gives me a smooth, dewy glow. The SPF20 is a great bonus for Australian summer. The pump pack is hygenic and portable. Cons - It rubs off in dirty flakes minutes after application. The chemical stink of it is horrid. The pump pack dispenses way too much with just the softest of pushes - so lots goes to waste. It is outrageously expensive for what it is $35AU for a drugstore brand! This seemed to be exactly what I was after and at first I was really impressed with this. However the cons far outweigh the good, so I wont be buying again.

Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Minerals

Firstly I will say you need to be very patient with the application of this and work to blend it in consistently across all areas of your face. So you need lots of TIME to get a good result. My initial impression once on was that I actually really liked it. It gave good buildable coverage, my skin looked good - creamy with a nice glow. It feels light and breathable on the skin. However, I was slightly concerned that I looked a little "orange" and felt paranoid about the "oompaloompa factor" all day. My next gripe was that after a few hours it settled into my fine lines and made me look like an old crone by the end of the day. To be fair, I didn't apply primer nor use concealer. So I will experiment a few more times. But at the moment, I'm not liking it at all.

Well I have had to totally change my review on this. When I first bought it and tried it out it did not work for me at all, in fact it seemed to make me stink even more. I was about ready to throw it in the bin. Anyway bc I hate throwing unused products away I kept it. I have since decided to give it another go and what do you know, its actually working for me now! I apply it at night after my shower then again in the morning and it does a great job of keeping the smellies at bay - no BO whatsoever for me, even after a 1 hour powerwalk with the pram in 30degree heat! Intrestingly, although it is aluminium free so not an antiperspirant, I do seem to sweat less when wearing it which is an added bonus. It does leave white streaks on your clothes so beware. Oh and don't expect it to smell like milkshakes or something from the name, it actually smells like Lemon Myrtle. But the bonus with that is the scent is undetectable, so it doesnt intefere with any perfume you are wearing. All in all this is a total winner. So glad I gave it another go!

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products

I'm unconvinced about this product. I bought it to try to fade a sun spot I had on my face and reduce a keloid scar on my back. I applied the oil every night for weeks and had no noticeable result on either problem areas. It is very greasy and doesnt really sink in. To use it up I applied it on my tummy once a week when I was pregnant. I will say I didn't get one single stretch mark from my pregnancy, but I don't really attribute that to Biooil. Personally I will just stick with Jojoba oil instead.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rtauschke2 9/29/2011 3:29:00 AM
I too usually stick with drugstore brand mascaras but decided to lash out (ha ha) on this one. For the extremely expensive price of $40AU it has not impressed me at all. The only endearing feature of this mascara is that it washes off really easily. Apart from that you have to really take your time applying it to get a reasonable result and I'm simply too impatient for that. Its not that great at holding a curl and tends to smear if you rush with it. Not for me.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Moisturising Cream SPF30

This stuff is great. No frills or marketing gimmics. Just a great every day staple. The one I have is SPF 30+ so I think they've upgraded it. It doesn't clog pores, smooths on a breeze. Actually gives my skin a bit of a matte finish. Works well under makeup. Great sun protection. Withstands a solid sweaty workout in the heat. Will buy again and again.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Nature's Organics - Organic Care dry moist conditioner

For the price, this stuff is unbeatable. All natural, enviro friendly packaging, dirt cheap, smells good and does a great job of conditioning my dry hair. Like the shampoo, it does tend to build up on my hair after continual use, so I think I need to hunt down a good clarifying shampoo to use every now and then. But otherwise, highly recommend.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Lewinn's - Day Cream Moisturiser
rtauschke2 9/22/2011 7:32:00 PM
Its hard for me to review this for its actual purpose without being biased. Day creams without SPF are not something I would normally purchase (I don't see the point of them) but I got this in one of those bundle buys. That aside, it is a light cream that sinks in quickly and doesn't leave any greasy residue. It works well under makeup. Overall a fairly unexciting product but it does perform reasonably well. So if you are into day creams without SPF, then I guess this would be worth a try.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Dr Lewinn's Facial Polishing Gel
rtauschke2 9/10/2011 1:09:00 AM
Another good product from DrL. This leaves my skin soft and smooth. It gentle polishes (polish is a good word - more so than scrub!) off any dry, rough bits. I find I need to moisturise well afterwards though as my skin feels a little tight after use. Be careful not to get this in your eyes. The consistency is like a runny gel with sand in it. My only gripe is its a little too runny, would prefer the base to be thicker. Would buy again.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Dr Lewinn's Gentle Facial Cleanser

I really like this cleanser. It has lots of natural ingredients like Aloe Vera, Apricot and Avocado oils. Love the smell. My skin feels so soft after using it. It definitely doesn't strip or dry the skin. For removing makeup you do need to team up with a washcloth as it won't remove all traces on its own.

Cleansers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk

Not sold on this one at all. Firstly it stings my skin, not to the point of being unbearable or anything, but it's particularly noticeable if, for example I have a cold and the skin around my nose is a bit sore. The pump dispenser is absolutely useless. Wouldn't repurchase.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Lewinn's Firming Eye Cream
rtauschke2 9/1/2011 7:57:00 PM
This stuff is one of the best eye creams I have ever used. I was a little dubious about the look of it at first - it has a glittery sheen in the tub, so I thought "here we go, a gimmick to make me think I look better by adding sparkles to it". Once on, the sheen is only ever so slightly noticeable. It feels very light and gentle on the skin. Sinks in quickly. It seriously has reduced the fine lines around my eyes. I can really see a noticeable difference from using this product and I haven't even been using it for that long, only halfway through my first tub. Price wise its actually cheaper per ml than say Nivea's eye cream. DEFINITELY recommend you try this.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Dr Lewinns - Puressence Purifying Masque
rtauschke2 8/31/2011 7:24:00 PM
I'm not really sure about this one. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it does have an intense smell of orange, which I don't actually mind, but coupled with the burning sensation on application it all feels a bit full on for my face. I definitely would not recommend this for people with sensitive skin. As for the results, I've been using it once a week for a few weeks now and I can't really say it makes any noticeable difference. It does say you need to use for at least 6 months to see a reduction in the signs of aging though. I'm a fan of the other DrLewinn products- but not sold on this one. Wouldn't repurchase.

Treatments (Eye) -Natio - Renew Radiance Eye Cream
rtauschke2 11/17/2010 9:46:00 PM
Hmmm for an eye treatment this is too sparkly for me. Its got somekind of glitter particles in it so it makes your eye area LOOK brighter but I don't think it actually cares for your skin. As a makeup tool this would be good for people with dark circles or if you want to illuminate/ add sheen to your eye area. But if you're looking for an eye cream to moisturise and protect and even hopefully eliminate lines, this is not a good choice.

Treatments (Eye) -Natio - Eye Contour Wrinkle Cream
rtauschke2 11/17/2010 9:41:00 PM
This is OK. It's dirt cheap and you get enough product to last forever. Its gentle and doesn't sting or stink or anything. How good is it? Well that depends on what you want. As a nice light moisturiser for the eye area - perfect. In terms of actually reducing fine lines etc - no it doesn't do that, well not that I've seen and I've been using it everyday for months.
