Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Shine Caresse Lipgloss-183 Pink Resistance
rshaner 12/13/2012 2:10:00 PM
I purchased the glosses in Endless Red and Lilac Ever After. I agree with the comment below that the texture, compared to YSL glossy stains, is a bit less substantial and gummy. Both colors left behind a stain after wearing off. I like some staining as it helps preserve the color. I didn't find the longevity to be anything special. Most lip products are highly fugitive on me and these are no different. Wear is a 2-3 hours. They do not last through meals. There is a noticeable, strange perfume scent that dissipates fairly quickly, but that some may not like. Overall, a nice product but nothing special. Mine were purchased at a 24 hour CVS in eastern Pennsylvania.

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Notorious
rshaner 10/13/2012 10:16:00 AM
I purchased Notorious from chanel.com. I am fair (about nw15). I find it to provide a very flattering soft contour on me - hard to overdo and somewhat buildable. It is a baked, rather than pressed, formula. As such, it is sheer. It has a slight satin sheen. I would describe the color as a warm gray with a slight purple undertone. The sheerness is helpful for fair to light skin tones. However, I could see someone with a darker skin tone having trouble building this up. I also like using it on my eyes in the crease and on outer third of the lid. Paired with a soft base shade, it makes a nice eye look for a dark or bright lip. This product is probably the safest bet for fair to light skin tones with pink undertones. It might be suitable for others, but buy where you can return.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rshaner 7/19/2010 9:59:00 PM
This is a great palette and a wonderful value for the money, as it includes full size shadows, a double ended 24/7 pencil and a small primer potion. I am NW15, brunette, with green eyes. I would describe most of the colors in this palette a slightly warm, but close enough to neutral to be wearable with a cool complexion. Only one shade is overtly warm, and three could be described as cool. There is a good balance of light and dark shades. This palette was a nice change from UD, after palettes full of glitter and bright colors.

Mascara -Lancome - Cils Booster

I am very impressed with this product and am on my my second tube. It goes on white but is not too obvious. I find this does a great job of lengthening my lashes and provides some additional thickness. My lashes extend up to the base of my underbrow area with this base. I've used this with at least a half a dozen mascaras and have had good results with all.

Blush -Calvin Klein - Flush with Desire - Skin
rshaner 3/10/2009 11:30:00 PM
Like its name would suggest, this is a more skin toned blush that is slightly peach, rather than overtly pink or peach. I was very pleased with how this blush gave my fair (NW20) and slightly pink complexion some color without looking too orange or brown or emphasizing the pink tones in my complexion. Blended very well and didn't look like blush. The color is similar to the new Revlon Barely Buff matte blush, but slightly lighter and pinker and with some shimmer. The shimmer is not that evident on the skin. However, this is somewhat sheer and someone with a medium or dark skin tone might not be pleased with it.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Quadra - 14 Mystic Eyes
rshaner 1/3/2009 10:44:00 AM
I agree with the previous reviewer's thoughts on this product, although I would not describe the two medium shades as taupe. One is a silver grey color and the other a bronze brown shade. I have a fair, cool skin tone and green eyes and this has quickly become my favorite Chanel quad. The dark brown plum color works great on me as a liner and also as a crease/contour color if I want a darker eye look. I think this quad is versatile for both day and night looks and could be used by people with cool and warm skin tones. The shadows have a soft blendable texture, but, like most Chanel quads, the color is not highly saturated.

Lipstick -MAC - Sequin Frost lipstick
rshaner 1/3/2009 10:31:00 AM
Lovely medium pink plum color with shimmer. I am fair with cool coloring and I don't think this color is too dark for daytime use. It is a great anytime color, being slightly darker than my natural lip color. Has a nice creamy texture, but I really wish MAC would leave out the vanilla fragrance. Would repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - apres ski
rshaner 1/3/2009 10:12:00 AM
This is a light medium gray with an olive cast. It is somewhat sheer, but can be built up to reasonable coverage. Makes a nice medium shade for use on the lid. As another reviewer has mentioned, it is not dark enough for use in the crease or as a liner. I personally would not describe this color as chalky. I am fair, with cool coloring and green eyes and think that this color works well with my coloring.

Palettes -Chanel - Collection Essentielle Multi-Use Makeup Palette- Collection Essentielle Multi-Use Palette- Tropicale
rshaner 5/30/2008 12:19:00 PM
I own this palette as well as the Naturelle. I am pleased with both products and find that they are really useful as take along palettes when you are short on time in the morning or for travel. The eye shadows and blush in the Tropicale palette are at best moderately pigmented and would probably be better for someone with fair to medium coloring looking for a soft look. The green bronze eye shadow is lovely but goes on fairly sheer. My only real concern with the eye shadows is that there is not quite enough contrast between the darker shadows to provide much definition when they are used together. Some of the makeup artist tips for this palette on the Chanel site are not really practical for this reason. Contrary to the site suggestions, I also do not find the bronze and the green bronze shadows dark enough to use as eye liner, even when used wet. The blush is a lovely soft pink coral color. The quality of the lip products is better than in the Naturelle palette. They are still fairly sheer, but there is a noticeable difference in texture between the lipsticks and the glosses, which wasn't the case in the Naturelle palette. The colors in this palette a mostly warm toned, but soft and neutral enough that they could be used a range of skin tones.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Beyond Natural Cream to Powder Eye Shadow
rshaner 5/24/2008 12:33:00 PM
Nice packaging. Attractively and usefully coordinated neutral colors. These shadows are fairly sheer and create a natural look. They have more shimmer than they appear to in the package. However, the cream formula never sets to a powder. I tried to use these with UDPP and they started to crease in about two hours. There are better cream shadows on the market, so I will probably skip these in the future.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipshine in Samoa #75
rshaner 5/4/2008 9:03:00 PM
Samoa is a beautiful deep rose with copper micro glitter. It's great with my green eyes and not too intense for daytime use. It is sheer but not overly so. The Aqualumieres are one of the few lipsticks that have good sun protection, with adequate SPF and UVA protection.
