BB Cream -MISSHA - M Perfect Cover BB Cream
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 4/18/2013 2:40:00 PM

I like the idea of BB creams however, all the colors always looked too orange or yellow (atleast the ones I sampled.) I noted that my face was looking better and even a little bit of foundation was looking fake on my face so I researched BB creams and decided on the Missha M Perfect BB Cream ..... I am very pleased .... I use the lightest color #13 and it works perfectly on my NW 10 skintone ...... I need some coverage on my chin where I have light discolorations and M Perfect Cover BB Cream covers my flaws (for a BB cream, I find it very thick and surprised that it adds coverage.) The cream goes on nicely and does not oxidize (yes it does not oxidize) and looks natural. The only downside is that this item is not sold in the U.S.

Lotions/ Creams -Laura Mercier - Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 4/17/2013 3:15:00 PM

Regarding the "orgasmic-bliss" comment below, HELL YEAH! Ambre Vanille is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The first time I sampled the Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Crème I was in heaven .... I immediately purchased the soufflé and matching body scrub and then I annoyed the salesperson asking her why there wasn't a matching perfume (which is out now and completes the soufflé and body scrub.) I cannot put into words how delicious Ambre Vanille's soufflé is .... it smells beyond delicious and you can wear it alone without the matching perfume. I get compliments each and every time I wear the soufflé alone ...... It is sweet and sexy at the same time and if your body does well with sweeter fragrances, then this is a must. In terms of strength, the Souffle has the strongest scent, followed by the body scrub and last by the perfume ...... the perfume does not hit on the scent of the Souffle 100% and is more of a distant cousin of the Souffle, but yet complements the Souffle well. (enough about the scent, I also want to mention that it makes my skin feel so soft especially after slathering some of the Souffle on after a shower.)

Styling Products -Oribe - Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 4/17/2013 2:43:00 PM

I love Oribe hair care products and their new Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil is a hit for me .....I just received this literally moments ago and had to write a review because I was that impressed. Background on my hair: my hair is long, wavy and color treated ..... I mix and match both high-end and drugstore hair care items and take care of the health of my hair ..... I'm 90% happy with the health of my hair, however, as long as I can remember I have always noted that the ends only on the the underside of my hair always looks frizzy ..... you cannot tell unless I push my hair over my shoulders and then you see some of the frizzy pieces ..... I have used other oils and styling products and nope nothing has ever smoothed the underside of my hair in the back of my hair (the best I have found is Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Leave in Cream and Essence Absolue Oil, which does help somewhat on those frizzy pieces but not completely.) Well I just received my Oribe Gold Lust and thought that I had a defective bottle and it did not have a pump, and as I was calling customer service to ask them about the lack of pump I noted that the pump was stuck inside the cap and some of the oil leaked into my hands ..... well I rubbed the oil on the frizzy section of my ends and instantly my hair felt smooth ...... I quickly run to a mirror and my hair ends looked as smooth as it felt ...... believe me when I tell you that my frizzy undersides have plagued me since I was a little girl ..... I can hide the sections but I still can feel the pieces ...... Oribe truly did nourish my frizzy pieces ...... I cannot wait to try this tonight on wet hair. I think that by adding the oil to wet hair and then some after styling, it is going to make a huge difference, especially since the oil worked so well on my dry pieces. The product is expensive but the small drops that leaked onto my hands when I was messing around with the cap, were emollient and spread easy ...... the signature scent of Oribe in in the oil but not as heavy (that is my one complaint as I LOVE the signature scent and would have loved more of the scent.)

One of my favorite lipglosses ........ a gorgeous shiney pink-nude that looks natural and makes my lip plumper .... a beautiful color for PPPs .... I'm a NW-10 and it looks great with my coloring and goes well with many of my different eyeshadow colors.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Shalimar
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 2/19/2013 1:50:00 PM

I have now tried Shalimar in EDT, EDP and Extrait formulations and the Extrait gets high marks from me. The EDT to me on my skin smells like band-aids and lemon (yuck) ... the EDP to me loses the band-aids, and instead has light touch of smokiness and dries down to lemons (so-so, but gives me a headache ) I'm not complaining though as I purchased it with my Ulta club points,) however, the Extrait is gorgeous ........ it is all smokey vanilla (I am a huge fan of smokey vanillas, with my favorite being M. Micallef's Note Vanille.) I know that others have mentioned that Shalimar has the same likeness in all formulations, however, I have to disagree as the pure perfume does not closely resemble the EDT and has a tiny hint of the EDP and to my nose is different, and is amazing. If money is no option, I highly recommend the pure perfume ..... 1/2 oz is $196, but if you are a fan of smokey vanillas so worth it. I find the pure perfume not at all old-ladyish, but instead it is sexy and gets me alot of compliments (from men.)

Highlighters -Rouge Bunny Rouge - Seas of Illuminations -Sea of Clouds
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 2/5/2013 2:25:00 PM

I am in love ...... finally a highlighter that shows up as a highlighter on my pale NW 10 skintone ........ I love the look of highlighters on a woman's face and I was always so envious that I could not find a product that would work for me ...... Chanel's Luna worked nicely but unfortunately it was a LE ....... I liked Lorac's Luminizer, however, this added more of a glow, however, Sea of Clouds is perfection ...... I can add this to moisturizer if I want a glow, however, I want that highlighted effect and this works perfectly ...... I just received this and I was surprised not only how well it worked, but that it looked NATURAL ...... it blends like a dream (and I used my fingers) ..... I added a bit to my cheeks and my forhead and was so pleased ...... the only issue is that I had to order from Zuneta which is overseas (there is a store in the US that carries it but they were temporarily out of stock,) however, Zuneta shipped my product same day and I received it three days after ordering.) I am so impressed with the quality of this product, that I want to look into the rest of the Rouge Bunny Rouge line ....... I am so pleased.

Treatments -Joico - K-Pak Intense Hydrator
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 2/2/2013 3:29:00 PM

Months ago I noticed that I had some hair breakdage (damn curling iron) and started using Paul Mitchell's Strong line which I though was helping, but two weeks ago I went to get a trim and my hairdresser noted more hair breakage ...... I freaked out and researched products to help and took a change on Joico's RevitaLuxe which has been a miracle on my hair ...... I no longer lose hair when I comb my hair either wet or dry and have noted no more breakage ....... while RevitaLuxe is a treatment, it is not a conditioner ........ I also use in conjuction with the ReivtaLuxe the matching shampoo and conditioner but my hair needs more conditioning, so I purchased the K-Pak Intense Hydrator and could not be happier ...... I always though that my hair was in good shape but boy was I wrong until I started using these products from Joico ...... the Intense Hydrator does an excellent job at adding additional conditioning to my hair and my hair looks really good (the shape of my hair is in the best shape ever, and I owe this all to the Joico line.)

Treatments -Joico - K-PAK RevitaLuxe
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 2/2/2013 12:02:00 PM

Pure and simple it works ....... I have been a bad girl lately and have started using heat on my hair ...... while I love the look of a curling iron, my one section of my hair had hair breakage ...... I was freaking out so I stopped using curling irons and researched products I could use to help me ...... in the past I was using Paul Mitchell's Strong line and while good, I still had breakage, which I did not realize until my hairdresser pointed it out ....... I started using two weeks Joico's K-Pak RevitalLuxe and noted an immediate difference ...... my hair was so soft while washing and even after drying ....... I also noted that when I comb out my hair, there is no hair on the comb ...... I also now use hot rollers (alot gentler than curling irons) and there has been no breakage ..... RevitaLuxe has really transformed my hair ..... I always thought that my hair was healthy, but I could not belive the difference after I started using RevitaLuxe ...... totally worth the expensive price.

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Calista Tools Hot Rollers
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 2/2/2013 11:54:00 AM

I purchased the Calista Tools Hot Rollers (Long Style) and they are the best hot rollers ever!!! They are very expensive ...... I purchased from Sephora the Long 12-piece set with the 12-piece heating element and it cost $150 (you can get the 12-piece with the 6-piece holding element for $100, but Sephora only had the other one in stock in-store,) but the price is worth it for me. I have long wavy hair that I like to style into beachy waves ..... I hate using heat on my hair so I would use curling irons and while they work, I noted that in the past few months I have had hair breakage on one section that luckily my hair is so thick, you cannot notice, but I know it is there and that my hair has damage and so I wanted a more gentle alternative to curling irons and decided on hot rollers which have always worked for me ...... my last set (Belson) died and after doing research I really liked the Calista Tools set and the Babyliss set (I bought the Bablyliss set and it would not curl my hair, so I returned it back to Ulta) ..... the Calista roller is very long and perfect for long hair ....... the roller has good grip on it and I curl my hair in spirals (same as with a curling iron) and within minutes the rollers cool and I get the look I want ...... I have done alot of research before buying the Calsta set and many complaints were of frizziness or the curls not holding ...... I can say for me, that I have had no frizzy curls and as for your curl holding, I suggest a holding spray (I use Redken's Hot Sets ..... I don't spray directly on sections and instead hold the bottle as far away from me as possible and do a quick all around spray all over, and my curls hold.) My curls look natural .... last week I left the rollers on for 30 minutes to cool and I also sprayed a little hair spray on, and my curls stayed for 3 days ...... normally I leave the rollers on for 5 minutes to 10 minutes max and my curls come out looser how I want them so I get the loose waves look. *** The only minor complaint I have is that I wish that they included additional clips to hold the rollers ..... I have thicker hair and sometimes I need two clips, but again a minor complaint and doesn't deter me from the overall satisfaction of my purchase.

Fragrances -Tom Ford - Noir de Noir
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 1/20/2013 2:23:00 PM

I won't describe the notes as everyone else has hit the nail on the head in describing Noir de Noir but I will add that this is one dark and sexy perfume. I understand that this is unisex however, I am leaning that this is more on the feminine side ..... it is long lasting and when my body chemistry is right, this scent is wonderful on me.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 12/30/2012 11:39:00 AM

I have horrible oily eyelids ..... I have experimented with other brands (Too Faced, Nars and Urban Decay) and the only one that did work for me was the Urban Decay primer but then it stopped working. A few months ago, I decided on Painterly (it has a pinkish base) which was recommended to me, and I am pleased so far. My eyeshadow goes on smooth and it does last for most of the day as well as it does not clash with the eyeshadows I normally use. So far so good, and hopefully it continues working, because having oily eyelids sucks.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Contrast Eye Shadow
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 12/29/2012 12:40:00 PM

I finally met with a MAC makeup artist who is fantastic at her job and love the work she has done for a family member. I had her create a few looks for me ...... I am very cool-toned ..... my skintone is NW10 and my haircolor is also a cool-toned blonde, however, I have brown eyes which clash with my coloring ....... I love blues but have a hard time finding the right choices ....... she applied MAC's Linger Softly (a gray/blue on my lid and then Contrast which is a dark navy with hints of purple-blue on my crease and then used Contrast to line the outer corners of my eyes and it not only worked with my cool coloring but also made my brown eyes pop. Contrast is a wonderful choice for PPPs.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Typographic (from Matte2)
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 12/29/2012 12:28:00 PM

A few months ago I took a family member to have a makeover at MAC and became friendly with the makeup artist who is unbelievable at her job ..... I finally met with her myself a few days ago and had her try out a few looks on me. My coloring is cool-toned ...... my skintone is NW10, my haircolor is a cool blonde with lowlights but I have brown eyes (which are boring.) I was surprised at her color choices as they are not ones I would normally use ....... in my one look, she used Vex all over the eye and then to my surprise she used Typographic (which I freaked out over because it is such a dark gray/black) and lightly used it in the crease and then to lightly line my upper outer corner and I could not believe that it worked ....... with a very gentle hand, she was able to create a light smoky eye and it worked perfectly not only with my cool coloring but also with my brown eyes. Typographic is a beautiful dark gray and if you use a light hand can certainly be used as a crease color and not only used to line your eyes.

Mascara -Givenchy - Noir Couture 4-in-1 Mascara
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 9/21/2012 8:53:00 PM

The BEST, The BEST, The BEST mascara I have ever used and being a mascara junkie, I have tried every brand ....... I cannot stop gushing to everyone how excellent this mascara is ...... it is the perfect shade of black (not too dark) and the wand helps in creating the longest, fullest lashes (I normally use one coat, but two coats makes my eyes look like I am wearing fake eyelashes, which I like to do when creating a smokey eye ...... the mascara goes on perfect every time and I have never had a problem with clumping.) I am going to go on record and state that this is the most perfect mascara!!!!!!!

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass - No. 28 Primer Serum
rated 5 of 5
rp1017 9/21/2012 8:43:00 PM

Previously my favorite primer was Hourglass' Mineral Veil Primer, however, No. 28 Primer Serum is even better ....... I use it underneath Kat Von D's Lock-It as well as I rub a little on my forehead and underneath my eyes and it plumps my skin like no other ...... I consider this not only a primer but as a skin treatment as well ..... it goes on like a dream, is not oily and did I mention that it really plumps your skin (blurring out fine lines.) This is a HG for me and worth the money.
