Toners -Unlisted Brand - Drugstore Witch hazel
royaljosieness 8/10/2009 11:50:00 AM
I bought a 16 oz bottle of this stuff at Sally's for under $4. I used it for a month...it didn't do anything for my skin. Not anything noticeable anyway. It didn't feel cleaner or smoother. I didn't notice any improvements in my skin. I still have a huge bottle left but it was so cheap so I don't feel too bad

Great color and price but it smudges really badly on me. Didn't even last 2 hours!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup SPF 25 ] [DISCONTINUED]
royaljosieness 6/19/2009 2:22:00 PM
I use this as a tinted moisturizer since it's got SPF in it and light coverage. I like it. I just think it's hard to match the color to my skin since the color of the package is totally different than the color of the actual product. When using Revlon's Colorstay foundation, I am a 300 Golden Beige, so I picked this one up in Golden Beige as well and it was wayyyy too dark and kinda orange even. So I'm going to exchange it for a lighter shade. Other than that, I think it's a decent product. I'm going to wear it to the gym today to see if it's really sweatproof but so far, so good. Also, it kinda makes my skin look oily after I apply it so just make sure you set it with powder.

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - tanwise mousse
royaljosieness 6/6/2009 8:32:00 PM
This is my favorite self-tanner (and I've tried MANY from clarins, Dove, Olay, Jergens, Aveeno, L'oreal). I only found this at Sally's, no where else. But it's affordable. Like $7.50 USD. And it works! The first time you use it, you can already see results. Then as you keep applying, you get a really nice, natural, long-lasting tan. It doesn't smell bad at all. Just make sure to wash hands after application b/c it will stain! I saw a tutorial on Youtube where a gal used St. Tropez tanning mousse on her face everyday. So I tried this Tanwise stuff on my face (even though they DO make a facial tanner lotion) and it works great. No breakouts! Definitely get this! I've already got a few bottles for backup!

Toners -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner
royaljosieness 6/6/2009 8:28:00 PM
It's a decent astringent. I used to use Clean & Clear Advantage astringent and it worked for about a year...after that, the zits came back haunting me. Then I used Biore's astringent which did NOTHING. So I decided to try this. It doesn't prevent me from getting breakouts (what does!?!) but it does help make my face feel clean and refreshed. No stinging whatsoever. I am still looking for the perfect acne/blemish fighting toner though!

Hair Removal -Sally Hansen - Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit for Face, Brown & Bikini
royaljosieness 6/6/2009 1:16:00 AM
I was really impressed with these wax strips. They helped me wax my eyebrows and upper lip with no problems whatsoever and I barely had to tweeze. I also tried some of the bigger strips on my hubby's back and although it was quite painful for him (haha), his back hair was removed pretty quickly and there was no mess with wax. Will definitely re-purchase

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - Prep and Perfect
royaljosieness 6/5/2009 4:27:00 PM
This product is okay. Kinda pricey for a d/s brand (10.50 at CVS). I had wanted to try Laura Geller Lip Spackle for priming my lips but before shelling out the $23 for that, I decided to try Sally Hansen's primer first. It comes on pretty white on my pigmented lips but not white enough to neutralize the color of my lips. And if my lips are sort of chapped, the primer will make my lips look VERY chapped. Application of lipstick wasn't any different and the look and wear of my lipstick wasn't any different. It does prevent my lips from feeling dry--cuz some lipsticks make my lips feel really dry. Overall, it's a decent product. If you have pigmented lips and want to wear nude lipsticks, try this. I still want to try Laura Geller's lip spackle though.

Lipstick -Max Factor - Vivid Impact Lipcolor- new for Jan. '09 (all shades) ] [DISCONTINUED]
royaljosieness 6/4/2009 10:05:00 PM
I got this lipstick in the shade "Pin up Pink" and it looked super cute Barbie pink in the tube. I was excited to try it and when I did, it was wayyyy too bright! Don't take the name "VIVID IMPACT" lightly...this stuff has quite an impact! Other than the crazy bright color that did NOT work with my skin tone, this lipstick is super moisturizing and does not smell like the typical old womanly smell of most lippies. Won't repurchase but maybe it will be a good color for others. Oh by the way, this lipstick is kinda pricey for a d/s brand (9 dollars at CVS!)

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Tender Rose
royaljosieness 6/1/2009 10:02:00 PM
For a drugstore brand, $11 is kinda too much. The color is great though. You don't need to apply too much to get a nice pink color on your cheeks. It does crack and has a lot of fall-out so I gave it four lippies. Last a long time on my oily skin. And it's super blendable.

Lipstick -MAC - Gentle Simmer Slimshine
royaljosieness 6/1/2009 4:13:00 PM
I got this at my CCO for $10 and I was sooo excited. I am not a fan of slimshine lipsticks because I bought Bare a few months ago (which seems to be everyone else's fave slimshine) and I did NOT like it all! But Gentle Simmer is the best everyday color for my skintone. I love corals and pinks and this one happens to be both so I was really happy with this. It lasts a long time on my lips and I don't even need to wear chapstick underneath. Will definitely repurchase but only from CCO.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
royaljosieness 6/1/2009 4:09:00 PM
This is my first Maybelline mascara. I heard a rumor that Maybellin's mascaras never clump so when I saw that they were 50% off at CVS, I decided to try the Colossal one. It's a very good mascara. I have to put at least 3 coats on to get the volume I want, but it doesn't clump or flake. And it's super dark black which I love. The smell is kind of yucky but that's okay. And the bright yellow packaging is ugly but the mascara is great. Would definitely repurchase if it went back on 50% sale.

Eye Primer -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy Fast Fix Eye
Shadow Base
royaljosieness 6/1/2009 4:05:00 PM
I have oily skin and super oily eyelids. The only product that ever worked for me was UDPP which we all know is a total rip-off because you don't get your 17 dollars worth of product (unless you depot it). So i decided to pick this eyeshadow base up since it was cheaper. I've used it 2 times and it creases like crazy. It didn't make my e/s last longer at all. And while applying my eyeshadow, i realized this stuff was so creamy that it left an oily residue on my eyeshadow brush. Yuck! I definitely won't be repurchasing this $8 rip-off. I guess I'll have to shell out $17 for the UDPP.

Lip Liners -Revlon - Colorstay Lipliner in Clear #600 [DISCONTINUED]
royaljosieness 6/1/2009 4:02:00 PM
I like that it's clear and has a self-sharpener. The price is $8 at CVS but I got it for 50% off so it was only $4. I used it today and while it was kind of hard to see where I applied it, it did prevent my lipstick from smearing. I like this lipliner so far. And since there's a lot in the packaging, I won't have to repurchase this for awhile.
