BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
rottenbanana 8/9/2012 9:29:00 PM
Great bb cream! I bought this for a camping trip but have been wearing it every day since. It has spf 30 and is gentle on my sensitive skin. It evens out my skin nicely, but don't expect much coverage. I still have to use concealer. I'm pretty fair but found the lightest shade WAY too light. The medium is just right. My only gripe is that my skin gets pretty oily with this after a few hours. It doesn't seem to wear off with the oiliness, though, so I don't mind too much. Will buy again.

Lipstick -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Honey

This is my new HG lippie! It seems like the shade shows up differently on everyone. On me, it's a light rosy pink mlbb shade. It has a creamy finish that leaves a faint stain behind. It's enough for me to not have to reapply except after lunch. I don't find it either drying or moisturizing.

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rottenbanana 6/23/2012 8:38:00 PM
Great mascara! It goes on smooth, gives great volume, separates and doesn't smudge ever. It isn't too hard to remove either. For only $3! I find it thickens up in the tube quicker than other mascaras. But for this price I don't mind replacing it more often. Or I have heard that you can add a few drops of saline solution to thin mascara out again- haven't tried that tip myself.

This is one of my favorite pinks! It's the perfect medium barbie pink shade with a creme finish. It goes on streaky. I'm satisfied with how it looks after three coats, but I think it would take four coats to get a truly opaque finish. Good thing it was 99 cents. It looks great with glitter topcoat also. I'm wearing Essie Shine of the Times (flakie) for accent nails right now. Teenage Dream would look awesome as well.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow in Canyon Classic

Great drugstore product! I've been searching for something for something like this for a while now. I needed a nude matte for everyday at work. This palette is all I need for eyes and brows for everyday. No fallout and this lasts all day without primer. I thought that the two medium taupe shades looked identical, but the shade difference is more noticeable when it's on. My only complaint is that the dark grey, while being a nice color for shading and adding depth, is not enough to use in place of a liner. The pigmentation is weaker in this shade than the others. I don't mind the packing though...it's nothing special but no less than I would expect from a drugstore brand. I've never had trouble getting it open, the shadows are not wiggly and packaging seems sturdy enough that it won't break easily. I will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rottenbanana 6/26/2011 8:37:00 PM
I have mixed feelings on this mascara. I always buy waterproof because regular usually will not hold a curl and usually smudges. This mascara, though, I find to be TOO waterproof. Cute packaging, but I wish the brush tapered off at the end. I usually have to clean up my eyelids after applying. It looks amazing on. Like WOAH. So I save it for nights when I need serious lashes. This holds the curl like nobody's business. It makes my eyes look like Sailor Moon or something. The mascara (and the curl) lasts all day and all night. Forever. It's super waterproof. Removing this mascara is a major chore. I have to use 3 different products to get most of it off. I can never get my eyes completely clean at night, it takes a night of sleep and washing in the morning to get all the extra bits. Not worth the effort. Plus all the tugging pulls out eyelashes. Will not repurchase because of how difficult it is to remove. Despite how much I enjoy Sailor Moon eyes.

I was so so excited to try this out. I snatched it up as soon as I saw it at CVS. OPI Black Shatter has been in my mind for months now, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I paid $4.99 for this at CVS (regularly $7.99) so not bad but not exactly a steal either. I tried this out over hot pink nail polish. Application was iffy. A wider brush would have helped but it didn't bug me. The hard part with this is that there are no re-dos. It dries to a rubbery consistency that looks worse if you try to fix it. So if your first coat doesn't come out looking nice, either start over or live with it. Some of my nails look more blotchy than crackled. The ones that came out right look badass though! This product has a learning curve.

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Foundation Brush
rottenbanana 4/26/2011 9:59:00 PM
Great brush for a low price. Works very well for blending foundation. I usually squirt out a pea-sized amount of foundation and spread it on my nose, under eyes, forehead, cheeks and chin. Then go back and blend with this brush. However I think the brush I purchased was bogus. Based on other people's reviews I believe this is rare. After washing a couple times the bristles started to come out in chunks when I used it. I might purchase again.

I LOVE this dryer. Bear in mind that I used my old one until it broke. It was an old Revlon that I bought about a decade ago. So it was definitely time for an upgrade. I'd been interested in getting one with tourmaline that's supposed to dry quicker with less damage since I have thick, semi-wavy frizzy hair. I found this at Costco for $14.99. It comes with a diffuser and concentrator nozzle attachments. Mine did not come with the hair pick but it sounds like I'm not missing much. I was interested in the diffuser but it is pretty much garbage. Just a matter of bad design: It allows way too much airflow to get smooth waves. Other than the diffuser, I am very pleased. It gets my hair dry super quick. Almost too quick. It's also fairly small, lightweight and quiet for it's power. I'll buy it again if it breaks.

I think I have a love-hate relationship with this nail polish. It's a gold glitter with large glitter chunks in a clear base. The large pieces make it intensely light-reflective. Application is best if you dab it on so that the glitter goes where you want it. Otherwise it is not very even. I don't even want to talk about removal. I tried using regular np remover and then ended up needed to scrape the glitter pieces off. It's gorgeous though! I wore it alone on my toes for Christmas parties, and it looks fine by itself. It does not look bare just really glitzy gold. I wore it on my toes again for a trip to Hawaii over Sally Hansen Blue Me Away which is neon turqouise to match my swimsuit. It's an unexpectedly beautiful combination.

I adore this color! It's a deep red with gold shimmer. Long lasting. Applies evenly in two coats. I don't think it's too crazy for work. And it's dirt cheap!

Such a FUN color! It's a super bright lime green with no shimmer or sparkles whatsoever. It's very opaque; I had full coverage with two coats. I applied thursday night and had no chips by sunday night when I had to remove it for the work week. Took off one lippie because it did stain my nails slightly. I have not had that happen with any other Sinful colors including darker shades.

Pretty shade- french manicure pink but with superfine glitter! A great nail polish color that's work appropriate but also a little bit fun. However it does not apply evenly. Takes 3 coats for an even application and then it's more opaque than I was looking for.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Pomegranate
rottenbanana 2/18/2011 5:11:00 PM
I love this! It is very moisturizing. The color is the perfect bright pink but still natural shade. It is more pigmented than any tinted lip balm I've tried before. Very light sweet scent. The texture is perfect- lightweight and not waxy or sticky at all. Cons: The tub is kind of bulky for how much you actually get. I think I paid $12.50 for it at Ulta. That's not REAL expensive but I will need to repurchase considering how I am plowing through it.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lipstick

These are great! I find them to be very true- to-color. I bought the plum shade and the dark purple looking for a vampy purple lip. The darker shade is waaaay too dark for most skin tones. Unless you're going for a vampire look. The plum shade however is fierce! It is very pigmented and lasts all night. I apply it over lip balm. I think I'd like to try this in more shades. Can't beat the price! EDIT: 6/26/11 I bought the nude color (902C) and I am in love. This is the perfect warm nude. It is almost all brown, no pink. So if you're looking for pinky-nude this isn't it. Although the light pink looks promising as well. I love the matte finish on these. They look very modern and last forever. They wear off evenly and leave some stain behind. Packaging sucks but they're $1.99 so no complaints from me.
