How could i give this iconic fragrance anything less than five lippies. It is simply superb. Addict is such a comforting, mellow scent. Slightly vanillic but not sweet. A little bit like a chocolate chip cookie but not syrupy. A little dash of incense is in the mix too. This is most definitely a scent that can be worn by both men and women alike. Addict is a perfume that tends to put me at ease and relaxes me.
This is the third scent in Agent Provocaeteurs unholy trio of frgrances. First there was Agent Provocateur then came Maitresse and now there is Petale Noir and Petale Noir is along the same lines as the first two. Wicked and haunting and naughty. The fragrance is floral (roses) and thorney. Like a beautiful red rose in full bloom...thorns and all. It is not just floral though. It is damp dirt, moss, and Norwegian forrest all in one bottle. I like to imagine a hooker waking through this said Norwegian forrest in black fishnet stockings, a garter belt, bustier, and five inch high heels looking for a lonely mountain man to offer her services to while wearing Petale Noir.
Me is the newest beauty by Lanvin and let me tell you it really is a beauty. Me has a note of blueberry in it and since i love fragrances with berry notes i couldnt wait to try this. Dont let the blueberry note turn you off. It is not a bad grape or Booberry cereal type of scent. It is a smooth, authentic note of true blueberries. It is not too sweet or syrupy either. Me is a floral blueberry. Imagine walking through a wonderful blueberry orchard and all types of colorful flowers blooming all around. It is quite a strong fragrance and projects well so Me should be a fragrance that garners you great compliments. I love when an awesome new fragrance comes out that really rocks my world and Me by Lanvin does just that. UPDATE: Today is the following day i sprayed Me on me and it is still detectable on my skin so it is a very, very long lasting perfume.
I remember seeing this perfume in the stores years ago but never really paid attention to it. I always thought the bottle was cool....cool but kind of scary too. I was not until i read what the notes are in this fragrance that i really got interested in it again. One of the notes is "lantana flower". I have always loved lantana and have planted it in my garden for years. It smells soooooo good and i always thought it would make a good not in perfume and Dolly Girl gets it right. In fact, Dolly Girl is the only perfume i think i have come across that even has a note of lantana in it. The lantana note is so realistic and stays with you for the duration of the scent. I can detect other notes like crisp apple and roses too but the predominant note is the lantana flower. It lasts a decent amount of time too and projects well. Dolly Girl is a nice, little floral scent that will make you happy.
Like the women's version of Romance, Romance for men is very florally to me. I don't think there are any floral notes in it but when i first sprayed it on i immediately thought floral. As it dries down it turns powdery or vanillaish or cocoaish. This scent morphs into different scents the longer it stays on the skin i've noticed. First it's very floral, then powdery and then i can detect vetiver and pine cones. This would probably work for a woman equally well as for a man i think.
I've been wearing my little sample spray decant of this for a few weeks now. It is a nice little pick me up scent. I can definitely detect the lime, maybe the mandarin and underneath those notes maybe, but ever-so-slightly a little bit of basil. I just went to my kitchen to smell my bottle of basil and i can detect it. It has to be a base note because i can barely detect it. Definitely a unisex scent and very fresh smelling but extremely ordinary. I cant imagine having a full bottle of this.
I've worn La Petite Robe Noire several times and i keep thinking of things to write a helpful review. After several wearings i think i can finally offer a good review. Since i first started wearing this the very first thing it reminds me of is tobacco leaves or just downright cigarette smoke. During this phase of the scent it is very masculine smelling. After a while, though, the smokey scent disappears and is replaced by fruits. Cherries and pomegranites to be exact and that is the color of the bottle too. A nice shade of red/pink with a pretty black dress. It lasts a decent amount of time on the skin too which i really like. All in all a wonderful scent. Also, La Petite Robe Noire is just ever-so-slightly masculine.
I'm surprised it has taken me so long to write a review of this stupendous fragrance. First the bottle. It is absolutely stunning with the pretty colors and stem inside. Florabotanica is absolutely awesome. It is a "different kind of floral". I remember a few years ago Clinique had a perfume out and its tagline was "a different kind of floral". Well Florabotanica really is a different kind of floral. It's not a bridal bouquet of beautiful and it's not a vase of flowers that are for mother's day. It is itself. It is very floral and very grassy at the same time. Florabotanica is like pulling over on the interstate and walking through a wildflower project that has been planted by the state. You smell the wonderful flowers, grasses, maybe some hay too. I also detect what might be vetiver as well. It is very strong and lasts and lasts and gives awesome sillage. This might even have worked as a men's scent too. To me it turns quite masculine when it has been on the skin for a while. I will always have a bottle of this perfume in my medicine cabinet. Job well done Balenciago....bravo. You really outdid yourself with Florabotanica.
This is an absolutely fantastic fragrance!!! It is very, very floral and that is what is so nice about it. It is like walking through a beautiful field of tulips and lily of the valley. I do not get any of the grassy notes that other reviewers are talking about. Just the wonderful floral notes. It is strong and gives excellant sillage too which is another plus. I would love to go to the real Highland in New York City wearing this to see if i sense any of the notes in this incredible scent.
Tribute is a ever so slightly masculine scent for such a high society, feminine woman like Mary Kay was. To me this fragrance is total musk. A lot of Mary Kay fragrances have a vanilla note to them and Tribute is no exception but it is mainly just musk....pure musk oil. I really like this scent but it's kind of strange they would make a scent like this as a "tribute" to Mary Kay. Maybe they wanted a musky, masculineish scent because Mary Kay was an astute business woman who created a world wide successful company?
Spicebomb is a very high-quality mens scent. It's very powdery with alot of cocoa. Not vanilla, cocoa. Like Tinkerbell just released a blast of cocoa with her little wand over a field. Spicebomb is quite feminine and given the proclivity for companies to make masculine scents for women this would have worked as a women's scent on the market.
Metal is an odd concoction of notes. I've heard it is pronounced metal or may-tal but to me its metal. As in a metal anvil. A strong, shiny, heavy, proud anvil. Metal (or the anvil) i should say shows its softer, feminine side by revealing what i determine as carnation. A big, heady bunch of carnations. After a while a smokey scent arises. I wore this once and i had to go outside to see if there was a fire outside somewhere because i kept smelling smoke. Like smoke from a fire of pine trees. To me Metal is a very masculine, manly scent. Another reviewer said Metal is very girly. I dont know how she got that i dont get girly at all. I just get a nice gleaming anvil. It is an old school scent but a very, very wonderful fragrance to own.
"Take me on a journey, on a journey to the center of your heart". For those of you old enough to remember that song sung by the late Donna Summer you will know what i mean. It is difficult to find notes for Mary Kay fragrances so i am just having to go with my gut on what i am smelling. When i first sprayed it on it started with a subtle orange or even a tangerine scent. Not a broken open orange or tangerine but an orange or tangerine still on the tree ready to ripen. The orange scent fades to a nice myriad of spices and peppers white, black and pink i think. Nice Eau de Parfum to take you on a "journey".
Nice little fragrance here in a cool oblisque shaped orange bottle. To me its not a Happy type floral. Velocity is a little bit darker with what are seemingly notes of bitter orange and ozone. I keep imagining myself strolling through an orange orchard that has just been sprayed with fertilizer and repellants.
Thinking of you smells like a yummy fruit tart. It is a dainty, vanillic, cocoa floral. A very delicate, fragfile cocoa scent. I can imagine a young man on his prom date giving Thinking of You to his date to wear for the evening and from then after it being "their" scent.
