Shampoo -Shiseido - Tsubaki Shampoo
rosaschnee 1/30/2013 9:07:00 PM
I've been using mainly drugstore brand shampoos. However, my hair hasn't been looking it's best. I've been thinking of spending a bit more money and purchasing some salon brands however I decided to repurchase the Tsubaki line again. I first used this product when I was living in Japan. This has got to be my favourite Japanese shampoo and conditioner. I've only ever tried the red version, as my hair is not dry, or colour treated. I have very thick Asian hair, and a lot of it! I have been using Pantene for years, but once I moved to Japan I thought I'd try out the local brands. This product has a beautiful scent, and it just leaves my hair nice and glossy and gives it a lot more volume. My hair is left silky to touch after I use it and gives it more life. I haven't been using it in the last few years as it is hard to get a hold of outside of Japan without paying a lot of money, but I just recently purchased it off ebay again. And after the first use in 2 years, I am still getting the same results. I think this will work great with people who have thicker hair. Good luck!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 9:34:00 PM
I bought this blush out of curiosity from all the hype about 5 years ago when I was on holidays. At first, I didn't like it that much. It's very hard for the brush to pick up the pigment, and I find I literally have to dig my bristles into the blush to pick up colour. That being said, 5 years on, this is the only blush I use. Because it is so hard to pick up colour, it is almost fool proof to apply on cheeks as you can never apply too much. Even though it is quite pricey, it has lasted me for more than 5 years and I still have plenty of product left. The packaging is sleek, but it does get a little dirty. But not a big deal. The colour is very subtle on me, I can hardly see the golden shimmer, just slightly. I love how it just gives my complexion a nice glow and I can use it during winter and summer. I'm not a huge blush/bronzer person, but if I can only choose the one blush to live with, it will be this one.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 9:20:00 PM
At first, I wasn't sure that MAC brushes could make all that much of a difference. Until I tried the 217. This brush blends eyeshadows like a dream! It's not too soft, firm enough to give enough control, but not too stiff either. I am thinking of purchasing another one. Hands down my absolute favourite MAC brush or any brush I own!

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 9:17:00 PM
This product dries super fast! Not only that, it leaves a really nice gel like finish. People have mistaken my home manicures as salon quality shellac nails. The only downside to this product is it goes gloopy in the bottle way to fast, I only managed to use less than half of the product before being unable to use it anymore. But I would still repurchase because I've never used anything like it before.

Crème -Chanel - vitalumiere Aqua Fresh and Hydrating Cream Compact Makeup
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 7:45:00 PM
I bought this foundation at duty free as purchasing it retail would cost me an arm and a leg! This product is surprisingly fantastic on my skin. It leaves a beautiful soft finish. I tried the liquid version, but found it did not give me enough coverage. The compact version is more buildable. I like applying it with a sponge, I have tried with a stipling brush, but with the sponge I got a more flawless finish. I also try using my fingers, but I still finding dabbing it with the sponge lightly to be best. Even with using a sponge, you don't need a lot of product! A little goes a long way. The major con is the price of this product. The product claims to be refillable however after some research, the refils are only available for purchase in Asia and the UK/Europe. I do love the finish it leaves on my skin, so despite the price I will repurchase. However I will save it for duty free or when I travel to the US or Asia as it is much cheaper than buying it in Australia.

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 7:36:00 PM
I bought this product because I needed any moisturising eye cream and thought to give this one a try. It doesn't claim to reduce wrinkles or reduce dark circles. The only claim it has is to be moisturising. I think it works great as a general eye are moisturiser. I don't really notice the texture as much, it sits and melts into the skin nicely and is non greasy. Since using it, my under eye area is well moisturise and does not look dry when I have make up on top. The price is a bit steep but I have used mine for more than a year as I only apply at night before bed. So it does go a long way. The only con I see is the packaging, as it is a jar, I don't like to stick my finger in, but a tube will waste product as you can't get the last of the product out. Will definitely repurchase.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #2
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 7:29:00 PM
I have used this toner for years! I had combination skin when I was younger which was acne prone, and even though alcohol dries out the skin and inflames the spots, I found this was great keeping the oil and sebum at bay. Now that I am a little older and my skin is more normal than combination, I still love to use this. I love seeing the product pick up all the dirt and residue on the cotton ball. It's very refreshing. I only use this in the evening though, never twice a day, concentrating on the T zones only. If this product is too drying for you, try using it only once daily after the day has ended. Using it in your morning routine may strip all the oil your skin naturally produces and dry out the skin too much. I will definitely use this product for years to come.

Cleansers -Mario Badescu - Enzyme Cleansing Gel
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 7:19:00 PM
I usually don't spend much money on cleansers. This is rather inexpensive, (it is only a couple more dollars than drug store brands) and is a very gentle yet effective cleaner. I feel, because it is a gel cleanser, it doesn't leave my skin taunt after using it and my skin feel nice and soft, clean and refreshed after using it. I am not sure how good it is at removing make up as I always remove my make up with a cleansing oil before hand. Will definitely repurchase!

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Light
rosaschnee 12/27/2012 7:01:00 PM
This is my 3rd bottle of the cleansing oil. I love cleansing oils to remove make up since I was first introduced to the Fancl cleansing oil a few years back and have not used any other products to remove my make up since. The Shu Uemura is not my absolute favourite, but it's easier to find than the Fancl one. It comes in a huge bottle which lasts me about 9 months with every day use. I don't use the recommended 4 pumps, I find 2 pumps is more than enough for me, an extra pump if I am wearing heavy make up. To use it properly, cleansing oils are used directly on dry skin, do not wet your face before hand! Rub it all over your face, gently across the eye area and I find wetting your hands slightly with clean water, then gently massaging the face will emulsify the product for a deeper clean. After massaging the face, rinse off with water. Even though there is no need to use another cleanser, I always follow up with my usual cleanser, but a rather gentle one just to get rid of residue oil/make up/mascra traces. But that's just me. I find with the cleansing oil, my skin is not left taunt or irritated and I can feel it breath again. The product itself is pricey, but it does last a long time. So it even outs in the long run. I think removing make up is vital to keeping the skin bacteria free and stops the pores from clogging up, so a little special treatment and splurge is important!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
rosaschnee 2/22/2008 7:28:00 AM
I did not like these at all. I haad read a review somewhere about how good they were at removing all traces of make up but for me it leaves behind a oily, soapy film which leaves my face feeling more icky than leaving the make up on! At it claiming to remove waterproof make up is a big lie! I used it all over my eye area first and even rubbed my lashes against the cloth and barely anything came off. When it came to washing my face with my general cleaner my mascara was streaking off. I def prefer cleansing oils over make up wipes!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rosaschnee 2/18/2008 9:12:00 AM
These are a GODSEND! I have super oily skin that needs blotting every 2 hours or so and more during Summer and these do the trick! They key is to pat the film on your face and not slide it across or else you'll find your make up smudging or your simply just sliding the oil across your face from one pore to the next. I don't what I'll do without these during summer!

Mascara -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Lash Expander
rosaschnee 11/17/2007 1:29:00 AM
This mascara is a GODSEND for me! I just curl my lashes with a normal eyelash curler then apply this on top and bottom lashed and my eyes look all doll like. I dont even have to ues eyeliner or any shadows. It doesnt budge which is saying a lot for my super oily and tearing eyes. I don't have a problem removing it because I use FANCL cleansing oil and it does the trick without me having to lose any lashes. LOVE this product!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rosaschnee 10/11/2007 7:23:00 AM
I have super oily eyelids and with 'asian' eyes I can NEVER wear the conventional pencil eyeliner. This stuff is a God send! Although it still smudges around the corner of the eye and onto the skin under my lower lashes near the corner but I blame my super oily eyelids and teary eyes for this rather than the product itself. This is best used with the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner brush rather than the MAC 266 Angled brushed I have found. Its just easier to apply and control than the angled brush.

Liquid -Ettusais - Flat Design Liquid AC Control Oil
rosaschnee 10/11/2007 7:17:00 AM
My friend recommended me this brand and foundation because I have acne prone skin with a super oily T-Zone. At first I love this foundation becuase it doesnt break me out as much (if I wear a full 8 hour day of it though it will cause a few break outs on the forehead) and has a SPF of 24 in it. I'm about to finish my first bottle and I have noticed its a bit too drying on my skin since its been winter, and the shade (20 Yellow Beige) is actually a bit too 'yellow' on me when I pair it up with the Day Amulet Loose Powder in Beige. I guess that can easily be fixed if I used the Translucent powder over this. But great foundation for acne prone and oily skin!

Shampoo -Pantene - Moisture Renewal Shampoo
rosaschnee 10/11/2007 7:12:00 AM
This is the best shampoo for my hair. I have tried other varieties of Pantene but like this one the most. It leaves my hair nice and smooth, no fly aways, hardly any damage at the ends (and I blow dry my hair everyday!) and gives my hair a bit of volume, I know they say to change shampoos every now and then, but NOTHING compares to Pantene! I wouldnt buy the Sleek and Smooth one again though becuase it just leaves my hair way to flat!
