Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Foaming Facial Wash
rockangel04 12/27/2012 10:20:00 AM
THIS HAS BEEN MY SAVIOR!! My skin is oily, acne prone, and extremely sensitive to frangrance which cause awful red itchy break-outs. Pretty much every face wash known to man that is frangrance free is for dryer skin types...well mine is oily and I needed something with a little more umph. When using the other sensitve skin/frangrance free washes my skin would be uncontrollably oily. In came this little angel! I'm so grateful that a company finally produced a quality face wash for oily skin individuals that's frangrance and oil free. Since using this my skin isn't nearly as oily...it's just comfortable (like "normal" skin). It does not irritate my acne or cause any issues for my skin. It's been an ongoing endless search to find the PERFECT face wash and I finally did. The only place I've seen this is at walgreens and I just purchased my 5th bottle. The face wash has a very very faint scent caused by it's natural ingredients that isn't overpowering in any way. The consistency is very runny and liquidy so you have to be careful with using it or else it'll run right out of your hands (if you use a clarisonic it'll run down out of that as well). I paid 9.99 for mine at walgreens but they did have the rebate label on there. If this stuff were $50+ I'd still buy it because it's that amazing. Finally a face wash for oily, acne prone, sesitive skin people! *note: while this says for oily skin, I feel that it is gentle enough for those with normal and maybe even drier skin. This never leaves my skin feeling stripped. It actually does what is says it's supposed to do on the bottle!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel

This, to me, smells like the new OFF family mosquito spray...it's awful. The SA's in Dillard's sprayed this on blue ribbons and were handing them out it the store. I really didn't want a ribbon but my over willing but amazingly cute son grabbed the ribbon because...well he's four and someone had a ribbon so he took it lol! Anyways, when we got back to the car I almost couldn't stand to be in the car bc this scent was so strong and artificial smelling. I had to deal with it the whole way home until I couldn't sneak it away from my son :( I'm definitely on the "hate" end of the spectrum.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash
rockangel04 7/17/2012 5:46:00 PM
This is new from the dickinson's witch hazel line, I found it at walgreens for 6.99! When I look for a cleanser for my skin, I look for oil free, frangrance free, and no salicylic acid (or really no acne treatments to be exact). I don't want to over work my skin and benzoyl peroxide treatments work best for keeping my acne at bay. SA does absolutely nothing except make my skin dull and red and blotchy. Alas I found the perfect cleanser! It's so hard to find a cleanser for oily skin that is fragrance free. There are those for sensitive skin but I need a little more "umph" bc the sensitive skin types do not balance out my oil production. This has really helped my complexion and is a product I don't ever want to be without. Now every morning and night I use this to wash my face, a fragrance free BP treatment, and follow up with a very light frangrance free moisturizer (right now its olay sensitive) where needed. Around my mouth can get a tad dry so that's where I focus thee moisturizer. I'm one of those people who get more oily with moisturizer if I use too much. I'd say if you are normal to dry than this cleanser could be a little to much. If you are oily then this could be just right. For the price it's really worth the try!

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte #2 Sensual Silk / Blond Sensuel
rockangel04 7/17/2012 4:19:00 PM
I must be crazy to be spending $34 on a lipstick but this shade just has me smitten. I'm NC20ish with blonde hair and blue eyes, my lips are quite pigmented as well. Usually I can't pull off a "nude" color because it washes me out or doesn't look good based on how pigmented my lips are. Sensual Silk is a very pretty nude/beige/dusty pink color that works very well for me. Some complaints are that it doesn't stay on the lips long enough for the price paid, I would have preferred something a little more long wearing. Also it goes down a good bit with every usage so I feel like I'll run out quickly. The flavor is wonderful, a peachy light fruity taste that doesn't bother me at all. Of course the packaging is just gorgeous but lets be honest...does it realllyy need to be that flashy. I'd rather have a simple classic bullet and lower price bc I really feel like we are paying for the packaging and name on this one. All that being said I WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN IN A HEART-BEAT the color is just that good! Also to give it a little something, sometimes I apply my buxom lip cream in white russian over the top and the two are just gorgeous together! I highly recommend trying that combo if you can.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rockangel04 6/30/2012 11:12:00 AM
This product really intrigued me, I ended up hating the regular revlon color stay because of it's cakey mess it made. I thought this might be a better alternative. Well it wasn't as made as the other version but it also didn't knock my sock off. Coverage-medium, what really bothers my is on my skin it manages to mask all the good skin but not do anyting to cover some redness from acne/acne scars (the orginal RCS did this on me as well) Finish- Satin like finish but left me looking dull Blendability- Very easy to blend. Can use a sponge, brush, or fingers and it blends fine any way Packaging-While it looks nice and classy I find it to be a big waste of glass, traveling with this would be a pain because it's heavy and could crack if dropped or luggage was handled carelessly. If they wanted a jar package I would have opted for a plastic. How long does it wear? On me 24 hours would have never made it. I get about 5 hours out of it before it starts to breakdown and look terrible. I wanted it to work but it was a no go for me. For reference right now i'm around an NC 20-25 and used the color sand beige. My face has a lot of pink and redness to it and my body is very warm. There wasn't quite enough yellow is this shade to neutralize the redness.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rockangel04 3/13/2012 1:12:00 PM
This product is terribly underrated:( I absolutely love it! When I first purchased it forever ago I was blown away by the way it covered up by pores, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation...all of that was GONE AND MY SKIN LOOKED AIRBRUSHED! I have oily skin prone to breakouts and this did not exaccerbate the oil or cause any breakout, in fact my skin got better. Sometimes when I've over done it with my acne meds my skin will get a little dry and this does not cling to dry patches either. It gets a good rating from Paula's choice (though I purchased this way before I even knew of her so that wasn't the driving factor) and she pretty much nails the description of being a satin matte foundation. What's funny is I used this for 8-9 months straight and then became a little bored with it so I started experimenting with other foundation and all of them failed to perform the way this one did. Will always have the in my arsenal and it's a defenite repurchase. I bought this in NC20 and it first it's quite yellow but neurtalizes everything very well. Other foundations I've purchased with yellow undertones just stayed yellow and made me look sickly. I'm aware we all have different experiences with foundations but I'm really happy I took a chance with this. Bonus points because it photographs beautifully and it it holds up quite well. If I get shiny, I just blot and my makeup looks freshly applied again as opposed to just blotting it away. Wish I would have never strayed away to begin with!

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Jasmine
rockangel04 12/7/2011 5:13:00 PM
This is my holy grail of all lip products!! The color of this is pretty but it really just looks glossy on me. I use this every night before bed and my lips never get chapped. Before this it was a chore to keep them hydrated. The taste is yummy (like caramel) and the texture is smooth and soft. This is one product I will always have one hand. As far as it being in the pot, it's okay; sometimes I like the pot type of products but I can see where it's a little unsanitary. It's not an issue that would make me not want to buy it. I know they have out the tubes of this now too so I may get one of those to take with me on the go. I also love using this after I used my lush lip exfoliator...that's a real treat. I have a ton of makeup in my collection and a lot of stuff I love but this is the real winner and the first product I've tagged as HG material (I think!).

Blush -MAC - Pink Cult
rockangel04 12/7/2011 5:02:00 PM
So I was a little late to discover this product, when the collection launched I paid absolutely no attention to it. Well I also missed the whole rock and republic blush craze too so of course I went google crazy searching for blushes similar to R&R spank but of course didn't have the price tag of one. I came across this blush in my search and found that it was highly raved about and several people loved it. I was lucky enough (determined as well) to get this blush in a swap and I'm very happy with it. I'd never seen this blush in person but only on swatches on the internet. The color this is in the pan is not how it shows up on my skin, it's a little more rosey and warm, less pink then what I expected (and what I was hoping for). The staying power is about the same as all mac blushes and it's completely matte, which is what I prefer. It's a very pretty blush I'm happy to have in my collection and hope they relaunch it so those who missed out can try it as well. I took of one lippie since the color was a little off from what it looks like in the pan and it only last about 4 hours on me. As much love as this blush gets you'd think they would make it a permanent color.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed Tarte Blush
rockangel04 12/7/2011 4:52:00 PM
This is a freaking gorgeous color for the winter, it gives that warm glow to the cheeks that looks healthy and flattering. I tend to go for the pinky/coral colors in the summer but I can't say I wouldn't use this in the summer, I just got it when the weather got a little cold so who knows, I may love it for warm weather too :) I am NC20ish with blonde hair and this shows up well and it greatly pigmented. It compliments my natural qualities very well. It's a matte rosy tan color that's a little more rose than tan. I had tried MAC blushbaby and it pulled too much brown/orange so I ended up returning it, but this is that perfect color I've been searching for. The staying powder is great, to me it lasts longer than my mac and nars blushes so that is a bonus in my book. It hasn't irritated my acne prone oily skin either. The compact is nice, I like that it's a similar color to the product. Side note: I hate that nars blushes and eye shadow duos all look the same and I have to flip them all over to figure out what I'm looking for. With this I wouldnt experience that. The price is meh, could be cheaper but at least it's a blush that delivers good results as opposed to those more expensive blushes that don't. Go get it, its great! I want to get dollface as well!

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection in Romance

Such a gorgeous color for the fall, I love it so much! I put this on around 8 am and it lasted on my lips until about 3pm, that was through breakfast, tennis, and lunch as well! I'm probably going to get the color rush too! Temptalia has some nice swatches of the this color if you are unsure ;)

Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
rockangel04 10/10/2011 5:45:00 PM
I'm really enjoying this product and happy that I went ahead and grabbed it while at target. I'm NC 20 and the shades are suiting me quite well. I mix the light and darker color together for under my eyes and the olive/green on I use for blemishes. Everything is amazing in this palette but I took off a lippie becasue I feel I'm going to be out of the cream concealers waaaay before the powder which is unfortuneate. I also have the bobbi brown creamy concealer kit and this is very compareable. I received the BB one in a swap and to be honest I think I'd buy this again before I'd go buy that one. The only reason I'd say buy the BB one is b/c these colors obviously won't match every skin tone. SK should realize that and put out some other color ranges so more people could try this. Oh, as far as creasing, I say this doesn't crease any more or any less than every other concealer on the market ;)

Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
rockangel04 10/10/2011 5:36:00 PM
Been working off of 2 samples for a little while now. I'm NC 20 and I was given a sample of 1.5 and 2.0. Though this is supposed to mimic skin tone I could see stronger yellow tones in the 2.0 shade when I applied it. The 1.5 matched a little better in my opinion. As far as finish, I'd say semi-matte and light-medium coverage. It didn't cause me to break out which is good, I was worried because this smells identical to studio fix and that wrecked my skin. It held up nicely on my oily skin for about 6 hours and then I started to get a little shiney and noticed that it had wore off quite a bit. This foundation is pretty decent and if I wasn't in love with my studio sculpt I think this would be a foundation of choice. I don't think I'm going to rush out and buy it right now because it just wasnt for me. I'd say if you have slightly oily or normal skin and just need something to even out your skin tone this could be great for you. Get a sample first so you don't have to hassle with returning if you don't like it :) Also I did have a small dry patch on my chin and this clinged to it pretty badly. The next day I added a good moisturizer and primer to that area and it helped the problem.

Mascara -Almay - Get Up and Grow
rockangel04 10/10/2011 5:26:00 PM
SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT!!! I absolutely have fallen in love with this mascara! I have tried a ton of masaras and this one delivers!! it even beats my maybelline one by one and falsies! My lashes look much longer and very full, I also like that the formula doesn't make my lashes feel dry and stiff; just soft and very healthy looking. I can't comment on the lengthening abilities yet but even if it doesn't eventually lengthen them a I'd still buy this again and again. I also love that this comes in brown/black as several lengthening mascaras I've seen only come in black which looks harsh on me. Also the lid actually clicks closed which is great knowing it's sealed and air tight. I can do my top and bottom lashes on both eyes with a single dip and it looks as if I've applied two coats. I reccommend this hands down!! P.S. I normally don't have an issue with my mascara running or creaping so I can't really comment on that either...perhaps if you do have this problem try the waterproof version :)

Foundations -Maybelline - New Instant Age Rewind
rockangel04 10/4/2011 8:10:00 PM
The color in the tube is lighter than it looks. I got the lightest shade and it looks almost white on me. To me it's patchy and creased and didn't cover as much I need either...on to the next :

Brows -New York Color - Brow & Liner Pencil
rockangel04 9/21/2011 7:44:00 PM
All I can say is OUCH...way to hard for a liner, it litterally turned my lids red trying to get this to show up and when it did show up it wasn't very flattering. For $.98 at walmart though I hoped it would be a steal but not so much!! I originally had the CG taupe liner in my hand and but that back thinking this would be great bc is a "kohl" liner and it's a ton of product for really cheap. Well it was a very anticlimatic experience haha! However, it was ok for my brows but my Maybelline beats this too!
