Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer
robindw 1/19/2013 3:38:00 AM
I have very sparse eyelashes that fall out easily. I liked one of the other Voluminous mascaras, and I like the false fiber mascaras, but none of the glossy look this one advertised. I used this twice before tossing it into the trash. If you have sparse lashes, this does NOTHING to enhance volume. I noticed some added length, but nothing special. Also, the glossy look appears very odd and fake but not in a glamourous way. It looked like I had 8 single eyelashes that were very wet.
Eye Shadow -Giorgio Armani - Eyes to Kill Intense #2 Lust Red

The black and red pigments combine to create a stunning multi-dimensional colour. It's a very fine powder and requires very little to get amazing colour payoff. On my eyes, even without primer, it lasts all day and through my workout in the evening.
Blush -Lancome - Blush Subtil Shimmer--Shimmer Pink Pool
robindw 1/19/2013 3:17:00 AM
This is the only blush I have ever bought more than once. Don't let the colour in the pan fool you. It looks hot pink with glitter, but when it's on, the sparkle isn't noticeable and the pink is buildable. I am very pale (too pale for any of the MAC foundations to look right on me) and the shade works perfectly to add a nice pop of colour on my cheeks.
Eye Shadow -Chanel - Illusion d'ombre Eye Shadow - Mirifique

Pricey but beautiful. It lasts forever on me - I put it on before work in the morning and it stays put even through my workout at 8:00. The texture is a bit difficult to get used to - I can't decide if I prefer using a brush or my fingers to put it on. Even so, it's worth experimenting because you can really layer this and make it dark, or layer it and create multi-dimensional looks with the other colours in the line, or use it as a nice base for other eye shadows.
Let me start off by saying that I am a sucker for liquid eyeliners. I am also a sucker for brightly coloured eyeliners, whether liquid or pencil. I bought two of these - one in violet and the other in teal. I haven't tried the teal yet, but the violet is a WASTE! It is like using a watercolour on your eyelid - no pigment and all water. Don't bother.
The absolute best nude eyeshadow in the world! Stays put forever. There's a lovely light sparkle in it, but it's just enough to add some interest. It's wonderful as a base to other bolder colours. I also like a little dusting on my cheeks as a highlighter. Although it looks like the container is small, I've been using the same bottle for about 6 years - it only takes a small amount to get the colour payoff. I tap a little bit out onto the back of my hand, then use a brush so that I don't contaminate the product in the container.
I always fall victim to the pretty colours in Physician's Formula eyeshadows, and I always regret it. They have virtually no pigment, so it looks like a weird frosty translucent powder no matter how much you put on. Stick with their eyeliners!
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero

I LOVE UD 24-7 eyeliners, but Zero and Perversion do not stay put unless I use a brush to blend them into a less stark line. I end up with a ring under my eyes below my lower lashes.
Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15

I really like this product. This foundation is great for summer when my usually fair skintone tans easily. I go from light, to light-medium, to medium, and back again depending on my colouring. It spreads evenly and doesn't leave product blotches, provided I moisturise beforehand. It doesn't make me look jaundiced or orange like the Almay version did. It provides just the right amount of coverage for daytime while not making me look overly made up. My dentist, my secretary, and coworkers have told me I look better recently and have asked me what I've been doing differently - and this is the only thing I've changed. I highly recommend this!
Foundations -Too Faced - Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation

I love the actual foundation - coverage is sheer, but somehow manages to conceal many imperfections. Very natural looking! However, I dislike the packaging - I prefer to use my fingers, a sponge, or my MAC foundation brush to apply makeup. I'll buy it again in a heartbeat if they ever put it in a pump bottle.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Scholl's For Her Foot Serum
robindw 6/19/2007 11:23:00 PM
I like the scent and feel of this product. Very silky and smooth to put on, and not greasy. I have very callused and dry feet and this stuff helped a bit. Unfortunately, it's a tiny bottle for the price and doesn't dispense enough product unless I use 3 pumps.
Eye Makeup Remover -Revlon - eye makeup remover pen
robindw 6/19/2007 11:18:00 PM
I agree with Valentina in that this can be messy. However, I use liquid eyeliner and I sometimes have trouble with the brands that use skinny brushes. Using this to clean up the line isn't perfect, but it beats taking a cotton ball or swab and makeup remover and re-doing the whole eye. The liners I prefer are water and smear-proof, so a q-tip dipped in water won't cut it. I drag the fine point of the makeup remover pen over the mistake, then use a dry q-tip to clean up the oil and smudge, then redo eyeshadow, powder, or eyeliner as needed. It's not perfect, but it's better than starting over.
I got this in the skull shadow box and love it! I like to put a dark layer along my upper lashline, a light layer on the lid itself, then blend a brighter colour on top either with a sponge applicator or my finger. Then I line my eyes with a liquid liner. Makes for an infinite number of gorgeous, glimmering colours. I use it pretty much every day but I get very different looks depending on what colours I blend it with or how heavily I put it on. The glitter makes it very versatile, believe it or not. It also lasts all day. Unlike with Midnight Cowboy Rides again, I have no problems with the glitter falling onto my cheeks with Oil Slick. It's my absolute favourite eyeshadow!
I love this stuff. I use it on top of my eyeshadow to add a pretty glittery shimmer finish to my eyelids. I do not apply it with the rollerball - I roll it onto my fingertip then glide my fingertip lightly over my eyelids. Using this product in this way looks way better than any of the other glittery finish loose powders I've tried (Stila, Lancome, MAC pigments). The others have the little salt-shaker packaging or a little vial from which it's difficult to get the right amount of product. Love it.
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow -General

There is hardly any colour in these shadows. I couldn't tell I had any eyeshadow on even when I used the darker shades in the palette.
