Eye Shadow -Stila - Rain Eyeshadow

I love this eyeshadow! I actually have a hard time finding a taupe eyeshadow that doesn't make me look sick or dirty, but this one looks great applied dry or wet. I prefer applying it wet though, because it makes the color and lasting power is better. It comes pretty damn close to HG status.

This is too red/orangey to use for contouring on my very fair NW10-ish skin. But I gave it 4 lippies because it is still a pretty decent blush color on me. The search for a good contour shade continues...

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rmt2104 10/13/2012 3:30:00 PM
Edit #2: I gave up. I couldn't find a way to make this work. It would fade and get cakey and separate on me worse than any other. Didn't matter what primer or powder I used. A lot has already been said about this foundation, but I just want to add that the lightest color in this line is NOT creme ivory, it's soft ivory. I bought creme ivory first, and couldn't believe how orange it was for something with 'ivory' in the name. I'm not sure what skin tone it would work for, maybe NC20? But for those of us lighter than NC/NW 15, it's definitely too dark. I also tried Rose ivory but wasn't a good color match either, it might work for NC 20 or NC 15 maybe, not really sure. Soft ivory, on the other hand, is a really good match for my NW10-ish skin. (*EDIT: I swatched all 3 and uploaded the pic- check it out to see them next to each other) When I first put it on it has great medium coverage and a really pretty natural and satin finish. I took one lippy off because of the staying power - the redness on my cheeks is visible again within a few short hours, and it can start to look a bit cakey too. Overall though it's a decent foundation for us PPPs to consider. I feel the same about this foundation as i do about Lorac's NP1- I finally found foundation that isn't too orange/yellow/pink, and that looks fairly natural, so I will keep experimenting with different primers and powders to see if I can get it to last better.

Foundations -LORAC - Natural Performance Foundation

This is a pretty good foundation, with great medium coverage, and an excellent color match for those of us in the ultra-fair category. Most of the time, even the lightest shade of a foundation is way too dark for me, but with this one- NP1 is a pretty decent shade. I almost thought this would be my HG, but I knocked off one lippy because it can get just a tad cakey, and it's not as long-lasting as I need- within a few hours some of the redness in my cheeks becomes visible again. It doesn't oxidize though, which is great. I will keep looking for my HG, but in the meantime will keep using this, because overall this is a great foundation to try if you're a PPP looking for a liquid foundation with medium coverage that won't make you look orange.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Irma La Douce Eyeshadow

Love this eyeshadow! I've been looking for a while for that perfect deep olive green that enhances my PPP skin and dark brown eyes, without being too loud. The color does change a bit a little after application, which is why I'd probably give this 4.5 lippies if I could, but it still looks great. Edit: If you have this be careful with it since it seems to break up easily (more so than other stila shadows). Both my pans of this color have broken. Luckily I was able to repress them pretty easily with the rubbing alcohol trick.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
rmt2104 9/30/2012 10:49:00 PM
I really REALLY wanted to like this, because the color match was really good for PPP me. Both alabaster (00) and porcelain (0) seemed to work for me. Which is pretty crazy considering I have such a hard time finding even one color in a foundation line that is light enough for me. Unfortunately, the coverage was practically non-existent, which pretty much defeats the purpose of this for me. If I had perfect skin, I wouldn't need a foundation in the first place. Also, this seemed to sink into my pores in a way that accentuated them. Not good. I ended up returning this.

This stuff is awesome! The morning after applying it, my skin always looks revived and rejuvenated. And it's absolutely helped me almost completely fade of a new fine line that was starting to develop under one of my eyes. Love this product, highly recommend it!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant
rmt2104 5/24/2012 5:41:00 PM
Have these eyeliners been discontinued? I haven't been able to find them in any drugstores. I love this eyeliner in eggplant, its my go-to liner. Great for bringing out brown eyes. The quality is good. Yes it does dry out after a few months, but that's to be expected for any product of this consistency in jar packaging. I usually use the included brush, even though its a bit thick but I like how stiff it is- allowing for precise application. I sometimes also use a thinner brush. Overall a great product with a really pretty color.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rmt2104 5/23/2012 8:30:00 PM
I*really* wanted to like this foundation. The W1 - porcelain shade is the ONLY foundation (both d/s and h/e) that's ever matched my very pale, yet not pink skin. But that's where the good stuff ends for me though. It's pretty chalky, not as 'blendable' as the name would have you think (although mixing it with a light gel moisturizer helps). My other issue with it is its staying power- namely, it has none! After about 3 hours it separates on my face, and also fades a lot, so my face ends up looking like a cakey, uneven mess. And I've tried applying it different ways- shaking it beforehand, with and without primer, with and without moisturizer, with a brush, a sponge, and with fingers. Powder makes it even worse ... this foundation just doesn't work for me at all- not on my oily areas nor on my drier ones. It really sucks for me I couldn't make this work, since the color is so perfect. Maybe the other shades don't have the same problems, like the chalkiness. If anyone knows of a liquid foundation with a color like w1, i'd soooo appreciate you messaging me about it!

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Sparkle Eye Dust - Pink Champagne
rmt2104 4/30/2012 4:28:00 PM
This is such a pretty color! I could see this looking especially nice with green eyes. Unfortunately, I'm a super PPP and it's just not flattering on me- makes me look tired/hungover/sick/like I've been crying- you get the idea. Also, I wasn't crazy about the fallout that left glitter all over my undereyes. This could work for darker skin tones though so may be worth a try.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Crystal Duo - Charming
rmt2104 4/18/2012 9:28:00 AM
These colors were so pretty in the pan, and I've had good results with some of the HiP metallic shadows, so I decided to buy this (not realizing this was 'crystals', not metallics). So regret wasting my money without first checking MUA!!! There is so much fallout, with huge chunks of glitter- not attractive! And the colors don't look great either once applied. I looked like a hot mess with these shadows on. Don't waste your money like I did!
