Shampoo -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo
rated 3 of 5

It didn't strip my dyed hair, and it cleansed my hair well. But honestly I don't see anything special from this shampoo even though it is nice -but I prefer Aveda sap moss shampoo because it's more moisturizing. For those who felt Sap moss shampoo was too concentrated/moisturizing, you may love this.

Conditioner -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
rjulie510 10/16/2005 11:52:00 PM

I bought this and matching shampoo after reading Smashbox_diva's reviews. I am firm lover of Aveda Curessence shampoo and conditioner, which got discontinued in favor of new Damage Remedy line. Good part of me wanted to see Damage Remedy was any better than my beloved Curessence.

At first, the conditioner seemed to really detangle my hair and left my hair very shiny and frizz-free. But I didn't find this conditioner any more moisturizing that Curessence conditioner, and frankly its lower protein content means I can't use this as a weekly moisturizing protein treatment. I didn't like that. It started to notice my skin and gave me bacne. I would not buy this again. This would work great as a daily conditioner for people who's not sensitive to silicone. I'm disappointed to be honest.

Treatments -Aveda - Scalp Remedy
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 9/27/2005 8:36:00 PM

My scalp gets dry and irritated from time to time. Drugstore dandruff stuff never worked, and they only made the problem worse. I tried Aveda scalp remedy based on hair board's raves, and they were so right: within few uses my dry irritated scalp was back to normal. I hate glass bottle and the packaging makes it look like a medicine. Not the best smell, but it goes away quickly. One bottle lasts awhile, so cost-wise it ends up being cheap. No other product helped my scalp problem this much, so if I run out of my bottle, I will definitely re-purchase this. If you have scalp problem, do not hesitate to try this product. It is NOT just for dandruff.

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Beautifying Blush-Nude
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 9/12/2005 8:19:00 PM

What a great blush. I was searching for the perfect nude blush to give my cheeks just a bit of color and some definition without looking like I'm contouring my face with makeup. Most "nude" blushes are too bronze and brown, and I just wanted true nude color. I found L'Oreal rustica feel naturale blush to be too muddy, and decided to give this one try as I normally love Sonia Kashuk. SK nude blush is the perfect nude color -it's not too pink, too peach, or too tan. It gives my cheeks defiition and color -just my skin but better. I love how smoothly it goes on my skin without accentuating my dry skin. It lasts all day, and honestly I can't ask for anything more. I'm in love.

Candles -Bath and Body Works - White Barn Candle Company Heirloom Apple
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 9/6/2005 11:59:00 PM

White Barn Candle Company's Fresh & Ripe collection is a personal favorite of mine. Heirloom apple is yet another great scent. This is a perfect fresh ripe apple, just as if you took down an apple and took a bite in an apple farm. My roommate and I think this one smells more fresh compared to Yankee Candle's infamous MacIntosh. We actually prefer WB because YC wax tends to be bubbly whereas WB was isn't. Crispy and modern packaging is very attractive, too. I highly recommend this one. Scent is very strong and it is long lasting.

Candles -Bath and Body Works - White Barn Candle Company- Juicy Nectarine
rated 5 of 5

When I first smelled this at BBW, I didn't think it was that special. But each time I came to the store and smelled it again, it really grew on me. I am so glad I bought it because it smells like the perfect ripe nectarine -it's juicy, sweet and fresh. White Barn candles burn every evenly without bubbles. Their wax quality is truly first grade. Scent is very strong and it feels up my whole apartment with juicy nectarine smell in no time. This scent really relaxes me. I also bought matching room spray. A great candle. The Whole Fresh Ripe collection is really first rate.

Misc Beauty Tools -Aveda - Ceramic round brush
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 8/27/2005 12:47:00 AM

I bought jumbo size Aveda ceramic round brush because I needed a large round brush to blow dry with to give my hair volume. I have been using boar bristle brushes to blow dry previously. Aveda ceramic round brush beats them big time. It seriously cuts down blow drying time tin half because it helps hair to dry fast and hair styles faster. Whether I try to flip it out or straighten, I don't need to go over each section over and over like with other brushes. I love how it leaves my hair sleek and shiney with NO frizz. (I'm the queen of frizzy hair, so trust me on this one.) I have not used other brush to blow dry with since I bought this brush. WHY didn't I buy this sooner? New HG! DO NOT hesitate to get this brush, people!!!

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Indulgences - Whipped Body Delights in Coffee and Cream
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 8/18/2005 10:51:00 PM

I got this as a part of set with Indulgences Cream & Coffee scrub and exfoliating loofah. This smells like yummy coffee softened with a hint of vanilla cream. Unlike most coffee smelling products that smell like chocolate, this one smells like coffee. It compliments Sephora Indulgences Cream & Coffee scrub very well. It was only available as a part of set before, but now they sell this seperately! Texture is light yet it's very moisturizing. I'm surprised at how small it is, but only a small bit is needed so it goes a long way. I like to use this moisturizer and scrub in the morning in days I need to wake up!

Shave Products -Aveeno - Therapeutic Shave Gel
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 8/12/2005 12:30:00 AM

Hands down the very best shave product. I have very sensitive skin, but due to having dark hair and pale skin that grows fast, I have to shave everyday. Other shave products I tried made my skin itchy and even cause bumps, but Aveeno one is so gentle! I have no more razor burns, bumps or cuts! It leaves my super sensitive skin very smooth! Simply the best shave gel ever. My ex-bf is prone to razor cuts, and when I switched his shave gel from Gilette to Aveeno, he even noticed that he gets way less razor troubles.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Molding Mud
rated 3 of 5
rjulie510 8/7/2005 11:24:00 PM

I have short haircut, and I needed a texturizing product that would also give shine and take care of my frizz. First of all, I'm not crazy about packaging, especially the cap. Texture of product itself is goo-ey. I tried to use the tinest bit, but even with small amount, I find it is a bit greasy and weighs my hair done. I since then switched to Aveda control paste, which is a lot lighter and gives that piecy look. I won't repurchase this. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure I will finish what I have. If I need light textured piecy look, I'd use Aveda control paste. If I need major shine and de-frizzing, I'd take out Aveda brilliant anti humectant pomade. I think because my hair is so short, it's easy to be weighed down. I think this product is better suited for longer hair.

Styling Products -Aveda - Control Paste
rated 5 of 5
rjulie510 8/5/2005 2:19:00 PM

I have short cut that hair layers and lots of texture, so naturally I needed a texturizer that could also help with my majorly frizzy hair. My hairstylist used this on me after haircut, and I liked it so much I bought it. It's a non greasy waxy paste that has lots of texture into my hair and de-frizz it. It doesn't weigh hair down and adds some shine. Blow dried or not, I always use this product on my hair everyday. Since I only use tiny bit, one jar should last me really long time. I love this product so much. It's perfection. It makes my hair look and feel great, it's not greasy or heavy like Sebastian molding mud, AND it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or eczema.

Conditioner -Matrix - Sleek.look conditioner
rated 2 of 5

Silicone-heavy conditioner that left my hair very coated and heavy. Will not let this stuff touch my hair ever again. I'm done with Matix and Biolage, period.

Treatments -Matrix - Sleek.Look deep conditioning masque
rated 1 of 5
rjulie510 8/3/2005 12:02:00 PM

I got a trial kit of Sleek.look line, which included a generous sample of this deep conditioner. It didn't really condition my hair, rather left my hair feeling coated and frizzy. I had to clarify to get rid of this gunk out of my hair. Not to mention it took forever to wash out.

Styling Products -Matrix - Sleek.Look Lockdown Spray
rated 1 of 5
rjulie510 8/3/2005 12:00:00 PM

One of the worst products I've ever used. This spray has alcohol to dry out hair, and it makes hair super cruncy! Even Pantene and Suave sprays are better, and they are at least cheap.

Styling Products -Matrix - Matrix sleek.look Extreme smoothing cream
rated 2 of 5
rjulie510 8/3/2005 11:55:00 AM

My hairstylist recommended this for flat iron protection for my frizzy hair. It smells great. It is somewhat heavy and greasy to the point it weighs hair down, so it's not an ideal finishing product. It's not the best for de-frizzing hair either. It's not bad but Aveda brilliant universal styling cream is WAY superior to this. If I need to flat iron, I much prefer Aveda light elements smoothing fluid or Aquage beyond shine spray, so this styling cream has been sitting on my product basket collecting dust. I would NOT re-purchase this as I doubt I will even finish this. Bioalge and Matrix products tend to be mediocre at best, not worth the price tag.
