Fragrances -Bond No.9 - I love NY for Her

Smells exactly like Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. It is an Otis Spunkmeyer blueberry muffin explosion of sweetness. Of course it smells good, I just don't want to be eaten.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Poppy by Coach
rinnins 7/13/2010 7:29:00 PM
I like the other Coach fragrances so I was excited to try this. Unfortunately it smells exactly like Britney Spears Fantasy. Or Paris Hilton Can Can. Or Aqualina Pink Sugar. It is so beyond generic, you could put it side-by-side with any of those and I couldn't tell the difference. It doesn't smell *bad* - I wouldn't wear it to work, but yeah, I'd pull it off on a weekend or at bedtime. It's just that you can just get the exact same thing from any drugstore for a fraction of the $70 Coach is shelling this stuff for.

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
rinnins 5/12/2010 1:46:00 PM
This is truly a GREAT eyeliner!!! I have most recently been using MAC Powerpoint in Bountiful Brown (smudges easily, wears off after a few hours) and Urban Decay 24/7 in Bourbon (nice, $$, and helloooooo glitter chunks!). This $5 Milani blows both out of the water. Why I love it: super smooth application - like butter! Wears beautifully all day - no transfer, smudging, or disappearing. Color is a perfect matte brown. And it's cheap!! Will buy again and again as long as they don't change it!

Blush -Stila - Baked Cheek Duo - Pink Glow
rinnins 4/21/2010 11:48:00 AM
My foundation washes me out, and then my favorite pink and peach blushes add color but no warmth, so I have to go back and add some bronzer or luminizer to get some dimension. That's what I love about this - it's pink and warm and imparts the perfect flushed pink glow. I've had this in rotation for at least 2 years and it's been a sleeper hit for me - I always forget it's in my bag, and each time I rediscover it I'm impressed with how pretty it is. I am not a fan of the plastic/cardboard packaging. After 2 years of rolling around in my mu bag it's pretty beat up. But the product makes up for it!

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Azuree Soleil Skinscent Atomizer

EDP - eau de pickle. It smells like pickles in the bottle, and for the first 20 min or so on my skin. After enduring the dill, I get this beautiful beachy breezy salt air slightly powdery floral. I was expecting something sweeter and coconutty, but sadly I barely detect any coconut. To me, this is a sophisticated beach scent.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Ever Hip
rinnins 4/19/2010 12:08:00 PM
I am not all that into lipstick or MAC, but I saw a pic of someone wearing this and HAD TO HAVE IT! The color is a gorgeous, sheer coral that adds a little pop of color that to me looks cute and flirty and fun. The LoL packaging is a huge bonus - so cute!! I am thrilled with this purchase and will enjoy the bejeesus out of this lipstick until I use it up.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Latisse Lash Growth Drops
rinnins 3/1/2010 4:12:00 PM
First, I did a ton of research because - while I have wimpy eyelashes and loved the idea of growing more and longer - I don't take lightly exposing myself to any unnecessary risk, especially for purely cosmetic purposes. Willing to take the risk and at least try this lash miracle, I bought Careprost from In House Pharmacy for $30. Nightly, I put one drop in the lid of an old contact case and use a clean eyeliner brush to apply to my upper and lower lashes on both eyes, plus both eyebrows. Yes - one drop is enough to cover everything! I wash both the brush and lid after each use so they're ready to go the next night. I've also refined my technique - I only very lightly wet the tip of the brush and re-dip it lightly several times in the solution because I found if the brush is really saturated I am much more likely to get the solution in my eye. Below is a week-by-week review of my experience:
Week 1: Religious nightly application. My lids got really itchy, and in the morning my eyes were red and bloodshot. I became reliant on regular eye drops to get me through the day. My lashes seemed to fall out a little more than usual, but nothing alarming.
Week 2: Still religious with application, still bloodshot and using eye drops. Not as itchy, but my eyes would be a little crusty in the morning. No real change in lashes.
Week 3: Still religious with application, still bloodshot and using eye drops. Starting to think I'm noticing some new growth. Also noticing some of my lashes grow sideways, some are stick straight, and some have a lot of curl.
Week 4: Still religious with application, still bloodshot and using eye drops. Week 4 is when the growth became really noticable. I actually plucked out some of the lashes that were growing sideways because they looked really weird.
Week 5: I went out of town for a couple days and did not bring this with me (didn't want any hassle at the airport and didn't want to mess with nightly application). I also stopped using regular eyedrops and suffered for a few days as I weaned myself off them. Probably looked high as a kite.
Week 6+: I've cut back to using every other night, and my lashes and eyebrows are continuing to grow more and longer. Since being more careful when I apply and stopping using regular eyedrops, I haven't had any adverse reactions at all. I've been taking weekly photos and have never had any discoloration or eye color change. It is risky, and I did have some annoying side effects at first, but if things continue as they are now I'll probably order another bottle or 2 so I have it on hand when this one runs out. The tips of my lashes are blonde, so to really nix the mascara I need to start using lash dye. All in all, this has really worked well for me and would recommend it if you're okay with the risk. Just please be careful!

Fragrances -Chloe - Chloe (EDP new)
rinnins 3/1/2010 3:32:00 PM
I so wanted to love this fragrance. I love the bottle and after reading all the reviews I was convinced I would love the scent - a pretty, feminine, wear-to-work floral. I'm sure it is all those things to someone, but it just isn't for me. For me, this is a stinging, headache-inducing rose. If you love Stella, this is probably for you. I need something a little softer with a touch of sweetness, so I'll stick with Coach as my pretty, feminine, wear-to-work floral.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Pretty Nails Non Acetone Nail Polish Remover
rinnins 1/6/2010 6:38:00 PM
I very rarely paint my fingernails, mostly because after a few days when they start chipping I'll think, "I need to take this polish off when I get home," and then when I get home I think of much more fun things to do than sit in the bathroom with nail polish remover. This cycle continues for days and days while my polish progressively looks worse and worse and worse. So I saw this at Big Lots for $1.50 and thought, huh. I could keep this in my desk at work and when my mani starts looking crappy, well, I can just pull this out and take care of it right away. I just used it for the first time and all I can say is WOW. Takes the chore of np removal and makes it just a 30 second ordeal that I can get done while I'm on the phone. The smell is not strong or offensive so there's no problems doing it at my desk. I thought there would be gross build-up or residue on the sponge, but polish really just dissolves. I will definitely buy more!

Eye Shadow -NYX - 10 Color Palette - Champagne & Caviar
rinnins 12/28/2009 5:39:00 PM
When this first arrived, I was underwhelmed. The colors are very sheer and not unique in the slightest. I used it for maybe a week and then it got shuffled to the back of my mu drawer and forgotten. Fast forward a month or so to when I bought a Bobbi Brown Nude on Nude palette, which was also super sheer and not unique. Huh, I have something like this... my NYX palette! which I dug it out again. So if you're into BB nude palettes, save yourself some cheddar and get one of these for pete's sake. This is now in heavy rotation for me. Though the colors are sheer, they're buildable and create looks that are subtle and pretty. This is the perfect daily wear-to-work palette, and the dark brown and black help it go from day to night. This is a great no-fuss neutral palette, and I would repurchase if I hit pan. The weak link is the pink, which is glittery and worthless. I think it's the only color I have not touched. EDIT - My palette busted at the hinge and now sits in two pieces. I didn't drop it - the packaging apparently can't stand normal (I would even say gentle) use. Very disappointed and definitely won't repurchase.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Airy Fairy
rinnins 12/28/2009 4:34:00 PM
This is a great neutral, gold-sheen pink lipstick. Super cheap - Rimmel is already cheap, but it's often bogo and has coupon ads in the paper. Smells like... wax and laffy taffy? Lasts as long as any other lipstick. It's not particularly moisturizing, and the sheen can accentuate lines and dryness. The tube (deep purple pearl plastic) would actually look nice if I could get the stupid barcode sticker off. I will likely repurchase if/when I use this tube up

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
rinnins 12/28/2009 4:13:00 PM
Out of the many (MANY) fragrances I own, this is the only one my husband knows by name. "You're wearing the bomb!" For me it smells like loads of white tea, muted vanilla sugar, and clean patchouli. I love it and wear it as often as I can. It is as close as I have come to finding my signature scent. Lasting power is good, though I generally re-spritz mid-day.

Fragrances -Coach - Perfume
rinnins 12/28/2009 3:50:00 PM
Of the 30 or so bottles of perfume I've collected, this stands out as one of my very favorites. Clean, floral, sophisticated and *pretty*. The very best attribute of this fragrance is the unexpected whisper of vanilla in the far dry-down. Staying power is decent - I usually give it another spritz mid-day. While I love having a full fragrance wardrobe to choose from, Coach will always be a go-to for me.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
rinnins 12/28/2009 11:23:00 AM
Count me in as a fan of this new foundation! Currently in my foundation rotation are Sonia Kashuk TM (Light), SH Carmindy (Ecru), and Fyrinnae (Citrine). I've never used a foundation that I thought was more than "okay" (those listed included) in terms of color match and coverage, so when the hype-wagon rolled in on this one I thought I'd give it a try. After a week of wear, I'm convinced I found the perfect foundation for me - finally! Color I have completely neutral skin tone in the NW/NC20 range and 003 Shell is a great match, maybe a tiny bit on the light side. Coverage While the consistency is downright runny, the coverage is medium to heavy and very buildable. I usually dilute foundation with sunscreen, moisturizer or aloe for more natural coverage/finish, but have found I don't want or need to with this foundation because the coverage is very natural looking. Finish I have *extremely* oily skin and prefer a natural looking finish. While the feel of this foundation when first applied is matte, the look is very natural/dewy. I still have to blot several times a day. It does accentuate dry spots. I do not see noticible shimmer/sparkles at all when wearing. Wear Even with all the blotting, this lasts all day. I haven't had any skin issues or breakouts since using this. It washes off easily enough with soap and water without leaving behind residue (unlike mmu which I've found requires oil cleansing to completely remove). Packaging Glass bottle with an AWESOME pump dispenser. Very easy to control. Love it!! Overall This is a winner for me. I picked it up for $15 at CVS (normally I would wait for a sale, but I was too excited to try it!). When I repurchase I will definitely wait for a sale and probably pick up the next darkest shade to mix for a better color match and summer.

Treatments -Ojon - Restorative Hair Treatment
rinnins 12/21/2009 4:49:00 PM
I could get past the burning incense smell if this stuff worked. I left it on overnight (and learned that the smell does not fade with time), then woke up and washed. I was left with a stringy, frizzy, unmanageable mess. Glad I tried it because I've been curious, and now I know this does zero for me.
