Mascara -Maybelline - XXL PRO 24HOUR BOLD
rated 3 of 5

For a non waterproof formula, it did hold the curl decently for ~ 5 hours. I didn't see "BOLD" volume or anything like that ... just darker lashes, but nothing too notable. I found the 2 steps to be kind of pointless - I tried going straight to step 2 once, and didn't see a huge difference from when I used step 1 first! It's an okay mascara - does the job in darkening lashes, but nothing out of this world :)

Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner

It was too strong for my face ... it burned sometimes after I pat my face with a cotton pad that had a few drops of the solution. I just started to use it near my collarbone and low neck area for an extra clean, especially when I'm wearing white collar shirts. On my neck or face, it was strong. Now trying the alcohol free neutrogena solution!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Light Night Cream
rated 4 of 5

One jar of this cream lasted me about 7 months ... however it should be noted that i didn't use it every night during the summer months because it was so hot at night time, and I used a lighter day moisturizer during those nights! It is light for a night cream otherwise, and absorbs quickly into the skin. I find it had a more watery consistency than a paste like consistency, which made me a little leery because it seems oilier that way! (and no, it's not a water based gel or anything). It's the first night cream I've used, and I didn't notice any huge changes to my face (it didn't become less oily), but it didn't cause me to break out! So, it could be a safe bet for you if you just need a night cream to apply after you wash and tone at night :). I'm trying Nivea Light Night Cream for Normal/Combination skin right now, so I'll have something to compare it to later!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the two bottles posted in the picture section (one with black label, the other with blue label)? Both are "oil-free" spf-15 ... if so, which is better? I've just started using this product (it's been about a week) and it smooths into the skin great. Non greasy, and hasn't caused any break outs! More to come once I've been using this for a month. Edit: I've been using the cream on a daily basis for just under a month, and it's great! It does smell like sunscreen lotion, but I do like that smell so it's not a problem for me, and the smell is faint and leaves after a while anyways. It doesn't leave my skin feeling oily (which happens with many other creams), and works fine under my liquid foundation (Hourglass Veil)! I actually feel like it works better than the neutrogena cream for combination skin, leaving my skin moisturized for a smaller amount. Give it a try!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Combination Skin Moisture Oil Free
rated 5 of 5

I bought this bottle in July 2010, and it just finished today so it lasted me about 8 months with daily use in the morning (and some nights). I have combination skin, and it doesn't make my t-zone any oilier, or cause any breakouts! Works great under make up as well, and worked great through the summer of 2010, and the winter of 2010, and now the beginning of spring 2011. I'm now going to try the version of this cream with spf 15! hope it's as great! Edit: I actually prefer the neutrogena facial cream with the spf 15 in it. Give it a try. Both are great, and don't aggravate my oily, acne prone skin.

Eye Makeup Remover -Equate - Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5

Great, even on waterproof make up! I use it for my waterproof Maybelline Full N Soft mascara. The trick is to lightly saturate a cotton swab with the formula, hold it in one spot over your eye for a couple of secs, and then lightly wipe. Mascara comes off easily, and there is no residue left over in the morning. It's important to rinse the eye area with warm water after using this and then putting on cream, as it says on the back of the bottle or else it WILL be a bit drying. I really like that it works so well, and the price is awesome!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Waterproof in Black
rated 5 of 5

I really like this mascara. For me, it's between this one and maybelline's full and soft. I don't like to have messy thick looking, clumpy mascara, so this delivers. My lashes look longer, and thick. The trick is to apply the mascara slowly, making sure to get all lashes, and then to apply a second or third coat after letting the previous coat dry for like 5 seconds. Works great. Remember, curl first!

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Miracle Cure

I was dealing with two peeling nails for all of July and August, and it was driving me insane! Whenever I applied a base coat and a nail colour, you could be sure that the next day, those two nails would be peeling at the tips. I finally thought to try a nail treatment polish and went for this one based on the review. I really like it! I've been using it for three weeks now and for the month of September, both of my peeling nails have been controlled! I can see that they still have a bit to go before the peeling areas grow out, but at least they're not peeling any lower than they already are. I'd give it one more month until my nails are in great shape again. I gave 3/5 for packaging quality because I've been finding that tiny amounts of the blue paint used to paint the bottle have been finding their way onto the brush. But I've only encountered this twice.

Eye Makeup Remover -The Body Shop - Chamomile Eye Makeup Remover

Good: Doesn't sting eyes Bad: I used this product up really quickly because it takes quite a bit in order to remove my waterproof mascara. It always took me 3 good squirts onto a cotton pad in order to remove my make up. It also left my skin really raw feeling, even though I was gentle with my touch.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 3 of 5
riama 4/17/2010 6:01:00 PM

I'm not proud to say, but I bought this pencil only because of all the hype it received in the Lou Lou magazine I was reading. First of all, it does NOT stay on very long ... the initial colour will stay on for MAYBE 1 hour, then it starts to fade. By the time I get to school after a 1 hour commute, it's probably 50% there, and it goes downhill from there. It doesn't deserve the hype. It is very creamy, comes off the pencil easily, and comes off oily eyelids easier I guess. I'll be finishing it since I spent $24 CAD on it at Sephora. But, if you have somewhat oily - oily eyelids, then this isn't for you..

Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro Enamel all shades, new square bottle
rated 4 of 5
riama 4/8/2010 6:15:00 PM

I just applied some Posh Pink Lasting Finish Pro, and it looks amazing on my toes! The application was smooth - the consistency and colour look great even after one coat, which I really like. As some others have stated, the brush is wider than your usual polish brush, which did lead to some polish on the skin around my toes - but that's nothing that can't be solved with a Q-tip and some nail polish remover. It looks great, and I'll edit again with an update on how long 2 coats lasted on my toes! edit: the 2 coats on my toes are still looking great/perfect, and it's been 5 days! However, the polish on my hands (two coats as well) chipped after less than 24 hours. The colour is still strong though ... I will try with a top-coat next time, since I was just curious to see how long it could go chip-free without one. Still really liking the vibrant colour! (Posh Pink)
