Skincare - Face -Good Skin - All Right Mattifying Gel

Boy oh boy, this stuff is the best - I've been using this for almost four years now - it kept my t-zone matte without drying it out, and never caused any breakouts, plus it always left my skin feeling so smooth! And of course, they discontinued it :( I guess the search continues...

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Mat Black 0L
rhimix 6/29/2009 1:46:00 PM
So back in the fall I was looking for homecoming makeup and I heaed over to Sephora. I normally wear eyeliner on my waterline, and because I have watery eyes, I really needed something that would stay on my waterline. The saleslady directed me over to these, saying they were "gel-based" and therefore would last hours on my waterline. I picked up 2L or Pearly Brown, and the color was GORGEOUS, but did it last on my waterline? Heck no. It doesn't even last an hour. My usual $3 NYC waterproof pencil last longer than these, which cost about $16 at Sephora. Nonetheless, I loved the color, and I've found that applying this pencil over a little powder to set it makes it last on the waterline, however I don'tdo that often since I hate getting powder in my eye. I will continue to buy these until I find a color a color match (it really is pretty) but I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.

Loose Powders -Almay - Pure Blends Loose Finishing Powder
rhimix 2/2/2009 4:47:00 PM
I am in love with this so far! It seems most people got the matte version, which was what I meant to get but accidentally grabbed the shimmer version instead. When I got home I thought "Great...this will make me look like I have glitter all over my face", but I tried it anyway. To my pleasant surprise, the shimmer version actually just does give a slight shimmer to your face, which is very natural looking. It gives you a sort of glowy look - in fact, when I tried this I got a lot of compliments on my skin the next day! I haven't tried it on my t-zone (I never put makeup on there) but I put concealer on my cheeks to cover acne scars and put this on top and my concealer not only lasted all day but gave me that nice glow. I've only used it for a few days so I can't say anything as far as break outs yet, but for now I'll keep using it!

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lip Vitamins Lip Balm -- Mixed Berries
rhimix 8/19/2008 5:08:00 PM
Attention all Lip Vitamins lovers - these HAVEN'T been discountinued! You can still buy them at Dollar Tree, Claire's, and Big Lots. Anyway, these are fantastic - best lip balms I have ever used. Cute, orginal packaging, dirt cheap, makes your lips super smooth and moisturized (and make a great base for lip gloss). All of the flavors smell great and have a nice, but subtle taste so you won't constantly be licking your lips. I am in LOVE with these - every time I go to Claire's or Dollar Tree, I end up buying at least three of these if not more! I hope they are nevr discountinued!

Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation
rhimix 4/19/2008 7:31:00 PM
I LOVE this powder!! I apply it with a brush and you can't even tell I'm wearing powder...it looks so natural, has decent overage, and feels so light. Plus, my normally super oily skin doesn't feel or look as oily by the end of the day - just dewey almost, a shocker for me. It even covers up the redness I get on my nose all day, another shocker. It doesn't clog my pores and make me break out. Definitely a keeper!!

Mascara -Neutrogena - Healthy Volume
rhimix 3/21/2008 4:13:00 PM
WOW. It's been a while since I found a mascara this good!! I have long lashes already, so this makes them super long and thick...I get tons of compliments when I wear this mascara. Amazing. And despite my oily skin, this does not smear or get all over my eyelids. Love love love!!

Lip Treatments -Chapstick - Peppermint
rhimix 1/4/2008 1:07:00 PM
This is my new obsession! Peppermint chapstick is much creamier than the other types of chapstick, and smells and tastes great. I love the tingling feeling it gives your lips, plus it makes my lips a nice pink and does a good job moisturizing. Tha balm itself is blue, which is a bit weird but kind of neat at the same time. I'm completely obsessed - I put more on every five minutes, lol. It's just so amazing!

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Liplicious Dipped Strawberry
rhimix 1/3/2008 11:24:00 AM
I wanted to like this lip gloss - it smells nice, has a nice texture (not too thick, not too thin) and gave my lips a beautiful Hollywood red sheen. Unfortunately, while I think my it made my lips look nice on their own, but as a whole it made me look like a clown. I have light brunette hair, light skin, and dark eyes and eyebrows so it's pretty much a rule of thumb for me to not put anything on my lips except for clear and light pink lip glosses and balms. Oh well, at least it was a gift instead of me spending my own money on it.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
rhimix 1/1/2008 8:39:00 PM
I love this stuff! I have almost uncontorlably oily skin and it drives me crazy. I can't wear foundation simply because it looks so nasty by the end of the day, even with powder on top of it, so I just settle for concealer and transparent pressed powder. Finding a good concealer has not been hard - finding a good pressed powder, on the other hand, has been. As a student I don't have the kind of money to be spending on any department store porducts, so I have to buy drugstore products. First I tried Almay - not bad, but once my skin started to get oily I would reapply and the powder would look cakey. I had the same problem with Rimmel, and Revlon, L'Oreal made me break out, and the Cover Girl powders would work at first but then turn orange by the end of the day. Finally, I decieded to try this even though it was bit pricey, but I was desperate. I tried transparent and WHOA. This controls oil on my skin for several hours, has not made me break out after a few weeks of use, and can be reapplied several times a day without looking cakey. Plus the packaging is nice looking and convienent. This is a keeper! :)

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites- Vanilla Swirl
rhimix 11/23/2007 2:16:00 PM
I can see why some people may not like this product - it's either a hit or a miss. For me it was a definite hit though :) You have to be careful when applying this gloss, I still can't apply it without a mirror, but when you put on just the right amount it can look great, a pearly, shimmery light pink. Too much will give your lips a gunky and frosty look though. I was surprised at how much I liked this because I love Bonne Bell, but I prefer their lip balms. I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss since I like to work out a lot and I can't stand running lip gloss or gloss that's sticky and can get in your hair and on everything else. This isn't runny at all and it's really not that sticky for a lip gloss which is surprising, especially since it's so cheap! It's also super moisturizing. And it smells (and tastes) delicious! I think I'll be buying more of these :)

Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Super Lash mascara
rhimix 10/18/2007 5:43:00 PM
Rimmel has so many surprises! OK, so this definitely isn't the greatest mascara I've ever used, but for just $2 I am extremely impressed. It looks good and doesn't smudge, something I'm happy to find from a $7-10 mascara. I'll continue to use my current favorites for the time being, but considering I'll be leaving for school soon and living off my own money instead of my parents, I have a feeling this and many other dirt-cheap Rimmel products are going to come in handy :)

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rhimix 9/23/2007 6:33:00 PM
I'm surprised, but I actually love this stuff! I have combo oily/dry skin (oily in the t-zone dry everywhere else) and this stuff works amazingly. It covers acne scars and dark circles like a charm, doesn't look cakey, and takes about 20 seconds to apply. It doesn't control oil at all, but I just put some transparent powder over my t-zone and viola, completely matte skin. This doesn't break me out at all, and I can wear this days in a row, then give myself a break, and my skin won't look worse than usual like when I normally wear foundation several days in a row. Love it!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rhimix 9/13/2007 8:00:00 PM
This is a LIFESAVER. I used to have really bad acne and oily skin. OK, so my skin still gets oily but this has realy helped my acne. I used to use Proactiv which broke me out a ton. Then I switched to Neutrogena products. Those didn't completely clear me up, but they sure helped a LOT, although I still got some uncontrollable breakout, especially during a certain time of the month. One day, I bought this on a whim at CVS. It's AMAZING. This literally sucks the blemishes out of my skin. I used it two days a row, and bam, no blemishes. Now I use it twice a week and it keeps me almost completely clear - I hardly even wear foundation or concealer any more. It's sort of hard to get off your face, but with the results it gives I'm not going to complain. It also has a nice minty smell and a refreshing feeling. I'll definitely buy this again, consdering how cheap it is, although I also want to try out their mud masque too.

Powder -Almay - Clear Complexion Powder Makeup
rhimix 9/12/2007 3:58:00 PM
I like this foundation! The color matched my skin tone exactly. It went on easily, didn't irritate my sensitive skin, gave a nice matte finish, and furthermore, did not look cakey, which was surprising since this is a powder foundation. The packaging doesn't look the best, but hey I've seen much worse, and it's starting to grow on me a bit. It's pretty nifty because the packaging has two compartments -one for the mirror and the actual foundation, and one for the sponge, so the sponge doesn't get all icky. The sponge was able to distribute the product evenly, but I also like using a brush to apply. This also keeps me oil free for several hours, and once I start to get oily again I just reapply. And it hasn't broken me out yet! This is a keeper :)

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rhimix 9/2/2007 7:39:00 PM
I love this stuff in the chapstick form (the tin version is crap). I have big lips, which may be a blessing but is also a curse, because they literally need something on them at all times - all it takes is half an hour of being bare before my lips start to get dry and chapped, sometimes even bleed, for crying out loud. Normally, I use Lip Smackers orginal lip gloss, which is super moisturzing, but there are times when I when I don't want my lips to look shiny, or I don't need lip gloss on my lips (like when I'm sleeping or working out). During those times I use this. It keeps my lips soft and moisturized, and I just love the minty smell and the refreshing tingling feeling it gives my lips. The one problem I have found with this though is that this does keep your lips moisturzied, if I try putting this on already chapped lips it just sort of sits there and does nothing.
