Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cure - Natural Aqua Gel

I find this product so overhyped. Then again, products that claim to exfoliate and actually show balled up white stuff usually get raves. Those balled up stuff are not your dead skin. The product will do that no matter where you rub it. Try rubbing a bit of glue between your fingers and it will do the same. The skin does feel smoother after using this product, because it leaves a film behind. This product is so pricey for what it does, and the packaging is totally lousy. The pump is so hard, and I always have to pull the pump back up whenever I try to pump the product out. I'm really not impressed with this product, which is disappointing considering all the raves. I'd stick with my AHA to exfoliate, thanks very much.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lanolips- Lip Ointment Rose

I love how moisturising this formula is. I wear it under my lipsticks and people comment about how good and moist my lips look. On its own, however, this colour leaves me looking a bit like a corpse. And perhaps due to the SPF, it tastes really nasty. I do not seem to have this problem with the original formula. The packaging could better as well. The gold on the cap flakes off and makes it look like I have been using the same tube of lip balm for 10 years.
Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Brick Compact Copper Diamond

This is just so gorgeous to look at. I got this as a gift, so personally I would not have chosen these colours as I would love to use a shimmer brick more as a blush. This is not possible as a blush due to the colours but look beautiful and subtle on my eyelids. I love how it shimmers, not glitters.
Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Full Speed

This is a lovely, bold lip colour that can be toned down with a generous application of lip balm. The makeup artist recommended it as a dupe for my favourite, now discontinued Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in Angel Rose (Asia). It applies pink with a slide tinge of orange for me. It's not a perfect dupe, unfortunately, but still a nice, wearable colour. It is so pigmented though, that application can be tricky. Personally, I pat this on.
This works decently to soothe irritated skin. I don't use it very often and do not know if Evian spray will do the same thing. I got this free when I bought my sunscreen so I do not think I will repurchase as my skin is seldom irritated. I can see why it will work for some though.
I bought this product from Japan and it only came with a plastic wrap. This thing melts like crazy in humid weather and can get quite unwieldy. Definitely not travel friendly. This moisturises adequately but I wouldn't say I've seen anything special other than it being a decent moisturiser. Most moisturisers do the job for me. I would not repurchase as it is hard to get in Singapore and I really don't like the idea of rubbing my hands on a gooey mess before rubbing it on my face.
I don't know what this does other than make my makeup look uneven and cakey. It doesn't 'fix' the makeup, that's for sure. The product doesn't even dispense evenly, so I get a spurt followed by some smaller droplets. I can't believe I was taken in by the 'glow' it promises. If you want glow, get a highlighter. And if you want something refreshing, I'm sure water in a spray bottle will do the same.
Liquid -Maybelline - Angelfit Flawless Natural Liquid Foundation
reverie 9/2/2010 7:46:00 AM
I bought a sample of this foundation, and it is probably the 'right' shade for me, but it made me look pasty and chalky. After application, my face looked tight and dull, and dry in many areas, even though I moisturised sufficiently. Good foundation if you want to look like a zombie (too unsexy for the vampire look). This is probably the only foundation I've gotten that made me remove the foundation immediately after I applied it because it looked so bad, I just wouldn't want to be seen with it. I was tempted to buy the Angelfit makeup base, and now I'm having second thoughts about it because this product was just so bad, I'm not sure if another product from the same range would perform well.
I don't have a nose to detect all the individual notes in a perfume and describe how they affect the way it smells. But this has got to be one of the most noxious scents I've ever encountered in my life. It is just vile, like cheap toilet air freshener mixed with something else. Not a good scent at all. The whole concept that this fragrance is the invisible bond between women makes me laugh aloud. Thierry Mugler must think women all smell really offensive. And oh, the bottle looks really fugly as well.
Sunscreen -Avene - Avene Eau Thermale Emulsion Protection Extreme SPF 60
reverie 8/26/2010 7:56:00 AM
This review is referring to the product before it has been reformulated in 2010. I bought this because I read about its high protection and I was starting to notice that my previous sunscreen was not doing a good job at preventing new freckles, even though I'm not in the sun much. I like the emulsion a lot, though it resembles nothing like an emulsion. It smooths on beautifully, and I can skip my usual moisturiser with this and still have happy, hydrated skin. It makes my skin look so good with its dewy sheen. I'm extremely disappointed that this has been reformulated to include avobenzone as I found a BB cream that I love which contains SPF and I'm not willing to switch. Looks like I will have to look for a new sunscreen. Pity.
I wanted to like this product, but the silver glitter is chunky, so I look like a disco ball bouncing off light from my cheeks every time I use this. The packaging is quite difficult to handle as well, even though it's a gorgeous, classy design.
All these mosaic compacts are so pretty to look at, but this goes on really red and garish on my fair skin tone. I'm not impressed.
Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mennen - Lady Speed Stick

This absolutely does not work as an antipespirant. I perspire the same amount, with or without it. It smells alright, but leaves white stains all over my clothing. Definitely will never buy this again.
Loose Powders -Unlisted Brand - chacott loose powder
reverie 8/26/2010 7:45:00 AM
I've been using this loose powder for a long time. I love how finely milled it is, and a light dusting is enough to set my makeup without ruining the texture I've carefully created or covering it up too much. It's so inexpensive and comes in an incredibly large tub! Love it!
Styling Products -L'Oreal - Lumi Oil Shine Care Drops
reverie 8/26/2010 7:42:00 AM
This orange hair serum does go on a tiny bit heavy, but it helps to manage my hair beautifully. It almost never fails to keep the ends of my hair curled in and not sticking out like nature intended for me. It's on the pricey side, but I would still buy it again! The only thing I would complain about is the heavy glass bottle. It's not very travel-friendly.
