Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
renatasydney 11/19/2012 10:50:00 PM
Got it after I read a review, thinking I will like the staying power and a balm. Went to try at the store, but as they don't allow you to actually use it, and give a cotton bud to put the colour on, I couldn't know how the application will work. Because of its shape, I find it very difficult to put the colour on. The only good thing is it's easy to use as a lip liner. Actually filling your lips with colour is very uncomfortable. The balm is good, but I found I had to re-apply both colour and balm many times for the promised long-lasting look. Department store 'pens' are all broken, so the packaging quality is poor. My friend wanted to buy, and I suggested not to go for it. Regular Revlon lipsticks are great, this one isn't.

Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Wildflowers
renatasydney 9/19/2009 7:46:00 PM
Bought it on-line and decided to go for a full size after reading the reviews. The quality is great. The colour will suit everyone, looks very natural if you want it this way, or you can build it up for a more dramatic look. It's very easy to apply and blend. It will last a long time as a tiniest amount is needed. The only minus is I wish there was some kind of shield to go over the grinder holes. Will definitely buy again, and will also go for other colour. A must have!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
renatasydney 9/4/2009 10:45:00 PM
I used 4 tablets, about 1.5 mls of water and a spoon or so of honey. This was enough for the face. I have some blackheads and hoped it would help. It made my face feel very smooth and wonderful. BUT... I am so upset it broke me out. Badly. My review is just a warning. Please make sure this mask suits you. I tried it twice and it broke me out really badly the second time. I might try again after the current flare up heals, and will update the review if there're any changes. Hope it works for you. :o)

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eye Bright
renatasydney 9/3/2009 11:43:00 PM
Bought this yesterday. It's not cheap, but after reading so many positive reviews decided to buy. This product does wonders to camouflage the red lower rims of my eyes. Great to make you look "awake' if you have no time to do the full "war paint" routine. I guess it will last a while so the price is not too bad. Definitely worth it.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Egyptian Magic Healing Cream
renatasydney 7/10/2009 11:26:00 PM
I bought this from Mecca Cosmetica a couple of weeks ago, having read about it so many times in fashion magazines. Although I checked the mixed reviews here, decided to buy anyway. It does make my skin very smooth and it is good as a body moisturiser, but is too oily for the face. I've applied it to my nose as I had some dry flaky patches after the cold, and it didn't improve the condition overnight as other reviewers experienced. It doesn't do anything to my very dry lips, in fact Vaseline helps much better, or my trusted Carmex. I didn't notice it doing wonders as a cuticle cream. All in all, I'm very disappointed in this product. It's nothing special at all. The same effect can be gained by using Vaseline and sorbolene. It's oily and absorbs in 10 minutes or so, has very faint but unpleasant smell and doesn't do anything special. All the wonderful ingredients it contains don't cost what you pay for this product. I will continue using but will never purchase again. I will edit the review if I discover it does something wonderful. WASTE OF MONEY.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
renatasydney 7/4/2009 10:17:00 PM
I bought this after reading the reviews here. I was looking for an inexpensive mascara that would do the job of making my fair lashes look thick and keep them soft. This does exactly that. I accidentally bought Brownish Black and was worried I won't like the colour. I absolutely love everything about this mascara. It covers the lashes perfectly, the colour is great, my lashes are soft and think and it's very easy to build up. I like the brush, it's thick and fluffy. The mascara dries on my lashes fast enough and doesn't smudge that easily. It's easy to wash off with warm water and a bit of Cetaphyl. I cannot see myself buying another Estee Lauder (my previous all-time favourite) or any other expensive brand any time soon. Absolutely love it.

Fragrances -Lancome - Magnifique
renatasydney 6/21/2009 1:34:00 AM
I bought this as a "different" everyday perfume, as I usually wear Chanel 19. After trying it and walking around with the smell on my wrist for about 4 hours I noticed it did't give me a headache and didn't make me want to wash it off. That's how I know this fragrance suits me. Everyone loves the smell, and compliments me on the perfume I'm wearing. Although I usually don't like sweet smells, but I find this one very pleasant and not heavy. Will definitely buy again.

Stick -Napoleon Perdis - Stick Foundation
renatasydney 6/13/2009 12:55:00 AM
I'm on my second one, and will be buying again because of the Pros below. Pros: -Great coverage for blemished skin (unlike any other foundation I've tried before) -Doesn't cause my skin to break out -Builds up coverage from medium to full -Can be used as a concealer as long as you match your foundation colour well Cons: -Doesn't last too long if you use it every day -No such thing as light coverage for this one -Limited shades available (I use Look 1 which is fine, but the shade is a bit too yellow; and Look 2 which is great, but as I'm very fair and pale, it is a bit too heavy in colour) -Can go on too heavy to make you look like you're wearing a mask -Not easy to apply and blend, especially if you are not using a primer -Beware of finishing off with a dusting of powder, as even a translucent one might make your face look heavily made up. Having said all of the above, will still buy just for the coverage power, as I usually use this stick foundation in combination with a liquid foundation to even out the skin tone and cover blemishes if I happen to have any.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Le Crayon Yeux
renatasydney 6/13/2009 12:39:00 AM
I've been using this for over 5 years, and still have the same pencil, and I do use it every day. It goes on really well, sharpens perfectly, doesn't pull when applying, smudges easily and the black colour is very black, which is also a must for me. I use eye shadows over the liner to give it a bit more staying power, as I'm unable to touch up if needed. And, just to mention, the tool on the other end is a CORRECTOR, not a smudger (please check with a sales assistant at the Chanel counter next time you're in store to clarify this). Yes, it is expensive, and I would love to find something cheaper with the same quality. However, if I'm not successful in finding a cheaper product, I'll continue to use Chanel. Love it!

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
renatasydney 6/12/2009 11:18:00 PM
I've been using Carmex in a jar for over 5 years, and absolutely love the way it helps my always dry, often cracked (in winter) lips. This is the only product that helps moisturise and heal. For those that don't like sticking their fingers in a jar, it also comes in a squeeze tube. The new one (for us in AU) in a click stick has a different formula and I guess is similar to all those Nivea etc nice smelling, but not effective lip "balms". What I don't like about Carmex: smell and taste. Overall: I will continue buying as this is the best Lip Treatment Balm available. It also has an added bonus as an excellent cold sore help soother.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
renatasydney 6/12/2009 9:32:00 PM
I've been using this product for about 3 years now and don't see myself changing to another product any time soon. I have very mild acne occasionally, and sensitive combination skin. Pros: -Fairly cheap (approx AUD20 for 1 litre, lasts forever, and I cleanse once AM and twice PM) -Very gentle -Not drying -Can be used as an eye make up remover (but won't take off waterproof make-up) -Perfect to use with a pinch of baking soda as a gentle exfoliator -Lasts forever Cons: -It's NOT a make up remover I will continue using this product unless it's discontinued. Then I'll move onto Ego QV Wash. :o)

Hair -Klorane - Dry shampoo
renatasydney 6/12/2009 8:59:00 PM
I previously used Label.M dry shampoo which was twice as expensive and didn't seem to last long, although I think I've used it only about 5 times. So it's obvious I was looking for a different brand product. I've tried Klorane only once so far, but can already see it works much better, makes hair looking "clean" and takes away the smell. It's easy to use and doesn't make my scalp itchy. I wash my hair every 5 days and use dry shampoo on Day 4, so it seems to work for two days for me. I can't say using the product helps to style my hair, and my hair goes a bit flat after an hour, but I do have very fine hair and lots of it. As another reviewer mentioned, don't be tempted to run your fingers through your hair, it's not a nice feeling. :o) Overall, I find the product very user-friendly and it does what it is designed for. I will definitely continue buying.

Primer/ Corrector -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)
renatasydney 6/6/2009 6:23:00 AM
I like the product, it works really well as a highlighter, but it is not a concealer as some might think. I find the application a bit tricky sometimes, and the product looks a bit heavy, but I guess it's just me, as this happens occasionally. :o) Click pen is great to use, but I'd personally like a bit better grip on a cap (think moisturiser on your hands). Would definitely continue buying, but wish there was another cheaper brand product.
