Tinted Moisturizer -Shiseido - Urban Environment UV Protection SPF43
reihasama 5/16/2013 2:33:00 AM
Great tinted moisturizer, and as expected from Shiseido, the SPF can't be beat. It applies with a dewy finish, but dries fairly matte, suitable for normal to dry skin. I think oily-skinned gals might have trouble with this. I apply a LOT on my face to get the full SPF protection, and it does not look too thick of unnatural at all. It is a tinted moisturizer, so don't expect great coverage, it will only even out skin tone, not cover up medium to major imperfections. For the price and the SPF provided, it beats 90% of the other tinted moisturizers on the market.

Fragrances -Pacifica - Tahitian Gardenia Perfume

Beautiful perfume, light, lush, although a little sweeter than the actual flower. However, it is an unbelievable value for the price. I just got this fragrance today and I can't stop smelling myself, it's just gorgeous.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Hot Magenta
reihasama 4/1/2013 2:47:00 AM
Hands down the best nail polish formula on the drugstore market. I love the shade, too, like the name, it is a bright bright magenta that looks amazing on warm skin tones. No base/top coat needed, will last a week without chipping.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Blue Me Away

Lovely shade, bright turquoise blue, and never chips. I mean never. I do the dishes, I scrub with steel wool, I don't wear gloves while doing housework, and this stuff will stay on until I decide to remove it. 1 coat = almost full coverage. Love it.

Shampoo -Garnier - Hydra Recharge
reihasama 3/26/2013 2:54:00 AM
I bought this as an impulse buy...My good old Aussie Moist hasn't been doing so well on my hair lately, so I thought I'd return to my first shampoo love, Garnier. Saw this, shiny and new, and grabbed the family size, because what the hey, right? I've mostly had good luck with Garnier, so I decided to take the chance. I'm glad I did. It smells like berries, I'm not sure how effective the little pearls are, and frankly, I was afraid they wouldn't wash out of my hair, but I guess they did. I used the shampoo without a conditioner, and the next day, my hair was SHINY. Seriously, it was shinier than it had been in months. My hair was also nice and smooth and didn't feel dry, and I have some seriously dry ends, thanks to being lazy and not getting my waist-length hair trimmed in probably a year now. I like Garnier, it's nothing spectacular but I haven't found a single shampoo that actually IS spectacular for my hair, so I'll give it the best rating I can. It's never failed me, and for that, I'll stick to this brand.

Fragrances -Versace - VERSUS Time for pleasure (Red bottle)
reihasama 3/20/2013 2:37:00 AM
I tend to dismiss the Versace house right off the bat when it comes to fashion and fragrance (have you SEEN Donatella Versace lately?) but this is a pretty good fragrance. Granted, it's no niche, but honestly, I can't afford niche these days. This is a fun, great-smelling perfume that's surprisingly good and it actually works on my skin. Fruity florals tend to go cardboard on me, so this was a pleasant surprise. I've read the official notes, and nope, nope, nope. On me, it smells like a faint raspberry mixed with white florals, I stole this bottle back after giving it to my mom, and I thought she had been using my bottle of BBW Night Blooming Jasmine at first. I get a heavy dose of jasmine/tuberose from this one, which is fine with me, since I love those scents.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
reihasama 1/31/2013 5:47:00 AM
Hooooorrible. I am giving it 2 stars simply because it didn't make my skin worse. This BB cream is not a BB cream. It's not even a tinted moisturizer. It offers zero coverage, seriously, my skin looks better with just sunscreen on vs this crap. Don't waste your money, it does nothing.

Gels/Soaps -Nivea - Touch of Cashmere Cream Oil Body Wash
reihasama 1/29/2013 2:55:00 AM
Can someone make a perfume out of this scent, please? Oh my goodness, it smells heavenly. I use it for shaving, it has a nice, smooth lather that gives me no irritation. Cleanses pretty much as any other body wash I've ever used, but oh, my god, the scent...

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy
reihasama 9/27/2012 1:39:00 AM
After my scalp was completely wrecked by Dove Oil Care & Suave Shea Butter, this was the shampoo that brought my scalp back to normal. My hair has mostly stayed the same, but thank you jebus, my hairline is no longer a mess of red itchy flakes. It took a few weeks of use, then one day I realized that my hairline felt and looked fine, and I was no longer scratching the flakes out of it. It works.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
reihasama 8/3/2012 2:32:00 AM
I ran out of my Aussie Moist (which was good, but I'm still looking for an HG shampoo) so I decided to try Shea & Almond butter based on MUA reviews. I got a set of the regular sized shampoo and conditioner for around $3 at Target, so it didn't hurt my wallet at all. What it did hurt was my hair. I noticed that my hair felt dryer and frizzier than usual for the first few days after using it. After a week of use, I noticed that the scalp along my hairline started itching, and flaking off. It's been around 3 weeks after I started using it and my hairline is a mess of red, bloody patches from where I have been picking off the itchy flakes. I've had to recomb my center part to disguise the damage. This shampoo is very much YMVV. I'm just glad it wasn't an expensive mistake.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
reihasama 2/15/2012 11:49:00 PM
After spending a few dollars here and there on drugstore lipsticks, looking for that perfect red (and those dollars add up), I finally caved and bought Russian Red. I've only grown the balls to wear red lipstick in the past few years, and never a bold blue-based red like this one. I was eyeing other red drugstore lipsticks, but the good Revlon reds (I'm looking at you, Revlon matte) are sold out everywhere I look for them. Today I finally cracked my no-buy and got Russian Red; it was like meeting my soul mate in the form of a lipstick. I'm a warm-toned NC 30, and I was always afraid that such a loud red would be too much, too bold. Well, it is too much...not in a bad way, but this is not a lipstick for the shy. Texture-wise, it is amaaaaazing. It is semi-matte, but does not feel drying, it is the most lightweight lipstick I've ever worn in my life. It is not sticky, feels like silk, and has reminded me again why MAC lipsticks are among the best value out there for the price.

Gels/Soaps -Victoria's Secret - Vanilla Lace Body Wash
reihasama 1/12/2012 11:51:00 PM
I love the scent, and it moisturizes well. I shower after my daily gym sessions and I sometimes don't have time to apply lotion afterwards, I've found that whenever I use this, my skin does not turn scaly and dry within the next few hours, which has been the case with other soaps I've used. My only peeve with this body wash is that it does not later well at all in hard water. Zero lather whatsoever; I can rub my hand together until the cows come home, and there will be no nice small pile of foam with which I can shave.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick in Crimson
reihasama 9/22/2011 3:08:00 AM
The packaging is great; beautiful and classy, and is not so flimsy as to fall apart within 2 days of being in my purse (I'm looking at you, Cover Girl). The color is smooth and silky, the texture is not slippery or waxy, it just feels like a very thin layer of pigment on my lips. The finish is not quite matte, but with a hint of gloss that makes the dark color less severe. On my NC 30 skin, it is a dark brick color. I've worn it with 1 coat blended out to make a dark bitten lip stain, and with 2 coats for a darker, more dramatic effect. Both look amazing. This is a shade I think is better suited for those with warm skin tones.

Lipstick -Revlon - Ravish Me Red
reihasama 9/20/2011 3:16:00 PM
I can see how this color would look amazing on someone with very fair skin. For me, however, Ravish Me Red is more like Ogle Me Orange, because orange is the exact shade it turns into on my NC 30 skin tone.
