Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 85
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 1:27:00 PM
I really like this product. I use this every day with our without my makeup year round (since skin damage is caused mostly by sun damage I try to keep my natural very fair skin tone all year round). Great for all of you goths out there! It has really good formula that can protect you from the harshest of sun environments(just remember like every other suntan lotion you have to apply it after the spf has worn off ex. spf 85 = 85 minutes you can spend outside without re-applying the sunscreen.) I also find that it absorbs quickly into the skin if applied properly that is applying a small amount around on area while rubbing carefully and adding more later if needed. Your skin can only absorb so much without your help. If this is done you can easily avoid feeling greasy as well as the white mask look. In the end even though it is mildly pricey considering it is a sunscreen ($10) it is well worth it because of the 85 spf. The amount of the bottle lasts a long time as well, it lasts a couple of months for me and I use it everyday (of course I only use it on my face and neck, for my body I use Neutrogena fresh cooling body mist spf 70). 1. Extreme sun protection. +1 2. Does not clog your pores.+1 3. Absorbs easily into my skin (if applied properly see above)+1 4. Does not feel greasy (if applied properly). +1 5. Great price in a easy to use squeeze bottle. +1 Ingredients: Water, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Silica, Styrene/ Acrylates Copolymer, Beeswax, Etheylhexlyglycerin, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Diethylhexyl 2, 6-Napthalate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, BHT, Cyclopentastiloxane, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Acrylates/C12-22 Alkyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Methylisothiazolinone. Cleansers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 12:58:00 PM
This is my nighttime cleanser since I use St. Ives protective cleanser with spf 10 during the day and dermatologist don't recommend using cleansers that contain spf at night. I have been using this product since September and so far it heals my break-outs as well as prevented them. It is such a gentle cleanser and I don't find it that drying at all although I use Eucerin Q10 anti-wrinkle moisturizer afterwards. I also really like that it comes in a convenient pump. 1. Great Price+1 2. Heals/prevents my break-outs. +1 3. Convenient packaging (pump)+1 4. Gentle cleanser. +1 5. Oil- free/ soap-free/ Hypoallergenic. +1

Lips -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers in Champagne
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 12:42:00 PM
This is such a great product because is it 100% natural, comes in cute packaging made out of partial recycled materials, and is not tested on animals, it is also unlike all of the other colors in this particular product line that I have tried (rhubarb, raisin, and watermelon- see my reviews!) that streak or bleed if used in a large quantity straight from the tube (but this can be remedied if a lip brush is used). I also really love this color but I have extremely fair skin so I can see that this particular shade would not really work on everyone. I did not find this shade extremely pink and frosty at all. In fact it left just a slight pink shimmer instead. I also do not mind the tingly mint sensation you get when you put it on. 1. Made out of 100% natural products.+1 2. Great Price. +1 3. Lovely tint. +1 4. Not tested on animals/cute packaging made out of partial recycled materials. +1 5. Does not streak or bleed.+1 Ingredients: helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, beeswax, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, lanolin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil. Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmer - Watermelon
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 12:08:00 PM
I find that the product as a whole is amazing (100% natural, use of partial recycled packaging that looks adorable, not tested on animals, great price, etc.) But, I feel that this is not really a great color on me due to my skin tone. I feel like I'm stuck in the 80's when I use this particular tint. Again, I do love the lip shimmers product in general it's an amazing product, just not this color, if you see my review on the Burt's Bees in raisin you will hear a completely different tone in my review. Also this product tends to streak and bleed if I put a lot on straight from the tube so a lip brush is needed. Which is not really a problem for me since I carry one around with me anyway. 1. Great Price.+1 2. Made out of 100% natural ingredients.+1 3. Not really a great color on me.-1 4. Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmers - Rhubarb
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 12:05:00 PM
I find that the product as a whole is amazing (100% natural, use of partial recycled packaging that looks adorable, not tested on animals, great price, etc.) So far, I have tried four colors in the Burt's Bees Shimmer lip line: raisin, this one (Rhubarb), Champagne, and watermelon. So far all of the colors look great on my skin tone with the exception of watermelon which I think looks like a very frosty pinky/red on me so I feel that I 'm stuck in the 80's when I wear that particular shade. But that is just me, I think someone with a more medium or olive skin tone it would look great on them. Also this product tends to streak and bleed if I put a lot on straight from the tube so a lip brush is needed. Which is not really a problem for me since I carry one around with me anyway. 1. Great Price.+1 2. Made out of 100% natural ingredients.+1 3. Not really a great color on me.+1 4. Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers - Raisin
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 11:49:00 AM
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in raisin is a very bold dark red on my fair skin. And I agree that the product can streak and bleed but only if you put a lot on straight from the tube. By using a lip brush you can easily apply the product and it will turn up just fine in a great stain. 1. Made out of 100% Natural ingredients. +1 2. Great shimmer and tint, creates a lovely stain.+1 3. Cute packaging that is made out of partial recycled materials.+1 4. Affordable Price. +1 5. Can bleed so a lip brush is needed, not a big deal for me but still. -1 Ingredients: helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, beeswax, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, lanolin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil. Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 11:34:00 AM
Another great Burt's Bees product! It has a great natural smell to it, comes in cute packaging, and is made out of natural ingredients, and even gives me a slight tint of color. This is one of my essential items that I carry around with me everywhere along with my Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle creme (see my review). Although I do agree that the the replenishing balm does not immediately work if your lips are severely chapped and withered. However, by applying it a couple of times it restores your lips back to normal. 1. Made out of natural ingredients (99.6% natural to be exact)/ not tested on animals.+1 2. Cute packaging made out of partly recycled plastic. +1 3. Moisturizing, even in the most severe conditions, with a tint of color. +1 4. I like the natural smell.+1 5. Great price ($3-5, I think).+1 Ingredients helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, beeswax, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, lanolin, symphytum officinale (comfrey) root extract, fragrance, punica granatum (pomegranate) oil, tocopheryl acetate, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, illicium verum (anise) oil, cinnamomum cassia (cinnamon) leaf oil, salvia sclarea (clary sage) oil, citrus nobilis (mandarin orange) peel oil, tocopherol, carmine

Scrubs -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 11:04:00 AM
This is the best face scrub I have ever used and I have used a lot, it even got rid of my enormous blackheads on my nose that have been plaguing me since middle school. It has a refreshing natural smell since most of the ingredients are made out of natural products. The price is incredible about $2.99. I use it on my chest, neck, and face scrubbing my skin in a circle motion with a damp washcloth using the product about 3x a week or daily depending on how my skins response to it. 1. Price, and since you only need a little bit it lasts a long time. +1 2. Not tested on animals.+1 3. Mostly natural ingredients. +1 4. It really works on improving and preventing skin problems. +1 5. The grains in the scrub are natural fibers do they are superior to scrubs that have their grains made out of plastic that end up polluting the environment forever since plastic itself does not decompose. +1 Ingredients: Water (Aqua), juglans regia (walnut) shell powder, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearic acid, stearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, glycerin, cocamidoproply betaine, kaolin, isopropyl myristate, dimethicone, triethanolamine, fragrance (parfum), phenoxyethanol, carbomer 940, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben.

Cleansers -St. Ives - Elements Protective Cleanser
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 1:08:00 AM
This is such a great product, not only is it affordable and is often on sale, but it also contains UVA/UVB spf 10 and vitamin E. And yes even though it is hard to believe that a cleanser can protect your face it can. The FDA has very strict testing guidelines that often forces companies to research and perfect their product for years. Also, a big company like St. Ives cannot state a false claim that would be financial legal suicide. If you have ever attended a basic legal class or had the faintest idea of what a cosmetic company has to go thru in order to have their product approved in the U.S you would understand that. Plus your skin is a semi -permeable organ that absorbs most liquids so the chemicals in the product that contain the SPF will be absorbed as well as well as the chemicals that were meant to cleanse. And if you mistakenly get the product near your eyes of course it will burn, it says on the bottle to keep away from your eyes, the eye area is a extremely delicate region. Sorry, if it sounds harsh I didn't mean it to, my only intentions were to inform. Anyway! This product is great it keeps me blemish free and it feels good to my sensitive- acne prone/ oily skin. I have been using it since July and so far so good along with additional sunscreen (I live mostly in Florida, plus I feel that the more sunscreen the better!) By the way I would recommend this as a daytime cleanser since most dermatologist recommend using a nighttime cleanser without any spf. 1. UVA/UVB spf 10/ vitamin E +1 2. non-greasy formula +1 3. Convenient bottle with pump. +1 4. Great affordable price. +1 5. Dermatologist tested/ Not tested on Animals. +1 Active Ingredients: Octinoxate, Octocrylene, & avobenzone Ingredients: Water (Aqua, Eau), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Polyquaternium-4, Acrylates Copolymer, phenoxyethanol, Silica pertrolatum, Dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), fragrance (parfum), Benzoic Acid, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine strearate, Stearic Acid, Cetrimonium Chloride, pvp, Glycerin, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Citric acid, disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl, Acetate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, linalool, Benzyl Salicylate

Treatments -Garnier - Strength & Repair Melting Masque
redbassguitar8817 11/18/2008 12:23:00 AM
The Garnier Strength & Repair Melting Masque is so great. I discovered it from reading the recommendation beauty section in various magazines as well as advice from a former classmate that works at a beauty salon. I have terrible split ends as well as a former bad habit of dying my hair magenta and this masque really repaired my hair. After using this treatment my hair would feel like silk and over time the damage would be repaired. Although it is important to remember that the only way to really get rid of split ends is to cut them and regularly trim your hair every six weeks afterward this treatment only helps contain the damage. It might be also helpful to mention that my scalp and hair is prone to get extremely oily and that I also have very fine hair, yet this treatment does not make me feel greasy or weigh my hair down at all. When I use this product I apply the melting masque treatment to my wet hair after rinsing off all of my shampoo I apply it from my roots downward using only a quarter-sized amount of the product (i add more if I need to). Then I let it sit for about five minutes (i usually exfoliate at this time) and then rinse it off first in warm water and finish it off with a couple of seconds of cold water because the temperature change rinses off any additional product preventing product buildup. Also if you still feel that the product is making your hair feel greasy maybe not using it everyday would be a good idea, then see what happens. 1. moisturizing. +1 2. Damage control. +1 3. Convenient squeeze tube. +1 4. Amazing Price (about 3.99)+1 5. Smell. +1 Ingredients: Aqua/Water/ EAU, Cyclopentasiloxane, myristyl alcohol, stearamidoproply dimethylamine, distearoylethyl hydroxyethylmonium methosulfate, cetyl alcohol, dmnyldmethicone/dimethicone copolymer, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, pyrus malus extract/apple fruit extract, polyquaternium-37, parfum/fragrance, paraffinum liquid/mineral oil/huile minerale, lauryl peg/ppg-18/18 methicone, persea gratissima oil/avocado oil, niacinimide, pyridoxine hci, ppg-1 trideceth-6, prunus armeniaca, kernel oil/apricot kernel oil, chlorhexidine dilgluconate, poloxamer 407, cetrimonium chloride, saccharium officinarum, extract/sugar cane extract/de canne a sucre, dodecene, hydroxyethylcellulose, 2-oleamido-1, 3-octadecanediol, unallool, citrus medica limonum peel extract/lemon peel extract, camella sinensis/camellia sinensis leaf extract.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Daily Replenishing Lotion
redbassguitar8817 11/17/2008 10:33:00 PM
This is a great body lotion. I love using it not only daily after showering but especially after shaving. It leaves my skin incredibly moisturized and smooth. It does not feel greasy at all and it sinks in very quickly. The product is good for sensitive skin, it's fragrance free, lasts for 24 hrs. and won't clog pores. 1. Very moisturizing. +1 2. The lotion's moisture lasts for 24 hrs. +1 3. It's non-greasy so it won't clog pores and it sinks in the skin fairly quickly. +1 4. It's dermatologist recommended, especially for skin that is sensitive and dry.+1 5. The lotion comes in a large bottle with a convent pump so the price is reasonable. +1 Ingredients: Water, Helianthus, Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Pertolatum, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Octyldodecanol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lanolin Alcoho, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cholesterol, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Methyparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, BHT.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Gelee - Grenadine
redbassguitar8817 11/17/2008 10:06:00 PM
I felt that this product was okay. Although I am not planning to repurchase this product it has a few good points such as it provides a very high shine to the lips which I like, it smells really great (I have Kiwi Kick), and it comes in the most adorable little pot I've ever seen. And yeah I know lipgloss pots are very unhygienic but I love lip glosses that come in pots, they're just so cute so I just carry around a retractable lip brush with me. Other than that when I put on this product I feel that it is worse than putting on vaseline. It just feels so oily on me and sticky after it dries to the point were it makes my lips stick together. 1. Great smell.+1 2. Even though it is not exactly convenient packaging the juicy gelees come in the cutest lip gloss pots I've ever seen. +1 3. It a high shine to the lips. +1 4. The product just feels extremely greasy to me so I don't really feel comfortable wearing it. -1 5. After the lip gloss dries it becomes really sticky. -1

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Skin Therapy Advanced Therapy Moisturizer with Multi-vitamins and Glycerin
redbassguitar8817 11/17/2008 9:48:00 PM
I love this product. I came upon this lotion by chance since I was looking for a travel sized tube of lotion to put in my purse. And not only did I pay a ridiculously low price for it at Target (only .99) it is the best hand lotion I have ever used. The product is extremely moisturizing like it says and it really locks in the moisture for a very long time. It also sinks in very quickly as well as it has a nice scent which I feel is very typical of a suave lotion product: light floral/soap scent (although some Makeupalley users might not like it). 1. Price, an amazing .99 +1 2. Extremely moisturizing. +1 3. The moisture lasts a very long time. (supposedly 24 hrs. but I use it 2x daily anyway along with Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle creme - see my review). +1 4. The lotion sinks in very quickly to the skin. +1 5. It has a convenient packaging and seems to be dermatologist approved. +1 Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Petrolatum Fragrance, Dimethicone, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Triethanolamine, Carbomber, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Titanium Dioxide.

Concealers -Clinique - City Stick [DISCONTINUED]
redbassguitar8817 11/17/2008 9:26:00 PM
I bought the Clinique city stick in the color Honey while I was spending my summer in Florida and at the time it matched my skin perfectly. Afterwards I returned for college in the city of Chicago and soon after I quickly lost my tan. Which explains why this color is two shades off my normal skin coloring because normally I'm extremely fair. I imagine that if I went back to the Clinique counter I would find a shade that would match. Overall, it is a great product that I plan on buying again. What's not to like it has spf, it's a convenient stick foundation in a lovely design, there is quite a lot of product so the price is reasonable, and it covers well (acne, freckles, dark circles, etc.) My only problem is that it can be a bit drying and it will appear very flakey if not blended in well. So I don't recommend it to be used as a foundation. 1. Great color when I'm tan and conceals well (but I believe if I bought the lightest color it would blend into my skin great as well). +1 2. It has SPF 15. +1 3. Convenient packaging, I love stick concealers as well as the sleek, silver minimalist design. +1 4. It is priced at $21 but there is a very thick tube so compared to other stick concealers there is a lot of product. +1 5. You really have to blend the product in otherwise it will appear flakey in applied areas. It also is a bit drying so this is definitely a product for concealing only and I don't recommend this to be used as a foundation. -1

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay in Place Lip Duo
redbassguitar8817 11/17/2008 8:59:00 PM
This is actually my first time using an Estee Lauder product and so far I am extremely satisfied. Even though it is pretty expensive (about $25) it is worth the investment. It really does stay on for quite awhile. As long as I wait about a minute after I put on the lipstick part of the duo and then put on the lipgloss part the product lasts through many of my activities such as: eating, drinking, kissing, etc. I can even rub my finger vigorously across my lips and still have most of it on. This stuff is like paint. I have even woken up the next day and found some evidence still left on my lips and that is even after my regular dental and facial routine! The color is amazing as well (Sunglazed Coral) it matches perfectly with my fair skin and is slightly dramatic than the natural coloring of my lips due to a deeper color as well as the added bonus of both the lipstick and lipgloss containing tiny golden flakes in it. However, I also agree with the other Makeupalley reviewers that say that the lip duo can feel a bit dry and tends to flake on the lips but if I exfoliate beforehand as well as moisturize it doesn't become a problem for me. Another thing that irritates me is that after a few days the gold lettering on the tube rubs off and the brushes tend to have single hairs that splitter off after awhile. But overall I would buy this product again, that is if I don't find anything better in the mean time. 1. Price (worth it, becuase it lasts soooo long). +1 2. Coloring is fantastic for me. +1 3. Brushes tend to have single hairs splintering off after prolonged use. -1 4. Double use (you can use either lipstick, gloss, or both for different looks) +1 5. Golden letters rub off after only a few days. -1
