Polishes -OPI - You Don't Know Jacques!

I don't get why everyone likes this color! I think it's one of the worst colors I've ever seen, it looks like I painted my fingernails with mud. I wore it for two days and couldn't stand it anymore. The formula was pretty bad too, and there's a streak of ink-colored pigment in my bottle that won't go away, no matter how much I shake it. Definitely do not recommend.

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Moisturinse in shower body lotion-extra dry skin
rebvt 2/5/2010 8:16:00 AM
I love this lotion during the summer, but it's not moisturizing enough to use during the winter. It's easy to use and is one less step when I get out of the shower. It also smells great!

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Extra Strength Blemish Fighting Solution
rebvt 12/30/2009 11:35:00 AM
I've been using this product for about two years and it works great, BUT dries my skin out terribly during the winter. I only use it at night and it has always "tingled" when I first put it on for a few minutes, but during the winter months, I wake up with red, dry, uncomfortable skin, to the point where I could only use this 2 or 3 times/week. This also stains everything (sheets, towels, clothes if you're not careful) which is a big negative but I think all BP products do that so I just make sure I always have white sheets on the bed. I recently tried the regular Blemish Fighting Solution (now under the CLEAR line) and it doesn't sting when I put it on and my skin isn't painfully dry in the mornings anymore. I will definitely be switching for the winter months and if the regular BFS keeps my skin clear during the summer, I will switch for good.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme
rebvt 12/11/2009 3:11:00 PM
I really wanted to like this moisturizer after all of the good reviews. I still have to use a BP product every night to keep my skin clear, and it makes my skin red in the winter because it gets so dry. I was looking for a good moisturizer to help, but this one just causes me to break out. Overall, I think it's a good moisturizer and may work well for someone who doesn't have sensitive skin, but it doesn't work for me. I'm beginning to see a trend that anything with "anti-wrinkle" in the name causes me to break out. I will not repurchase.

Skincare - Face -Mary Kay - TimeWise Day Solution Sunscreen SPF 25
rebvt 9/4/2009 8:52:00 AM
This product works okay as a very light moisturizer/sunscreen, but most days I have to pile on an additional moisturizer to avoid dry spots on my face. Some positive things about this is that it never made my skin break out, which I was afraid of as I have very sensitive skin, it's unscented, and the pump is much better than a jar. But for the price, I'd rather just buy a heavier moisturizer with sunscreen. I will not repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Lotion

When I initially started using this lotion, I hated it because of the smell, but now I've gotten used to it and it's my preferred lotion. It works great all year round and sinks in quickly so it doesn't feel sticky. I thought Jergens was my favorite but I think I now prefer this one.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Ultra Healing Lotion

This is my favorite everyday lotion, I've been buying it for years. I have a bottle at home, a bottle at work and a mini-bottle in my purse! It works well for dry skin yet isn't greasy in the summer, I use it year round. The scent is clean and not over powering at all. I've tried plenty of other lotions but come back to this one every time. I will definitely continue to re-purchase.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Recovery Super Antioxidant Concentrate
rebvt 10/28/2008 10:28:00 AM
So far this product is not working for me. I use PC 2% liquid 2x every day and it has been a miracle at clearing up my skin and keeping it clear. I'm starting to show signs of spending too much time in the sun when I was younger, so I wanted to find something to reduce some of the sun spots and a deep line that I have around my mouth. I do like the consistency of this product and it appears to moisturize well, but it did make me break out. I wasn't able to use it long enough to see the effects of the retinol so I can't comment on that. I may try it again but for now I'm going to stick with what I know works.

Lip Treatments -Paula's Choice - Lip and Body Treatment Balm

I'm not sure what all the excitement is about over this product. I've been a religious chapstick user for 10+ years (don't leave home without it!) and I don't see any difference between this product and chapstick. In fact, I much prefer the chapstick because it's easier to take with you, smells better, packaged better, and much cheaper. I won't be repurchasing and it will probably take me years to get through the container that I have.

Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15
rebvt 10/28/2008 10:20:00 AM
I've been using the Almay version of this product for a couple of years and I really like it, except in the winter when the lightest shade is still too dark for me. So I decided to try the new Revlon version. I'm happy that the lighest shade of the Revlon is a much better color match, but I don't like the consistency of the make up as much as Almay (could be that I'm not moisturizing well enough too). It is definitely a light/sheer coverage make up, more like a tinted moisturizer, so if you're looking for more coverage this may not work. I will continue to use, at least in the winter. I haven't tried the darker shades for the summer yet. Update: I've determined this is breaking me out, I have discontinued use and my skin has cleared up. I plan to return and will not repurchase.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Volumizing Shampoo
rebvt 4/2/2008 12:22:00 PM
I have been pleasantly suprised by this shampoo & conditioner. I tried one of the Suave shampoos & conditioners several years ago and threw the bottles away after just a few uses, but they seem to have improved. I went into the store looking for the Healthy Curls line, but they didn't carry it so I got the volumizing shampoo & conditoner instead. I have naturally curly hair that I blow dry most days so I had been using a moisturizing shampoo but I think that was weighing it down too much as I was having trouble stying it. This line has worked well for me so far, my curls are more bouncy and overall my hair has more volume. My only complaint is the scent, it is too perfumy for me and gave me a headache the first couple of days until I got used to it.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
rebvt 12/4/2007 9:35:00 PM
Amazing. I've been dealing with problem skin for over 10 years and have tried everything from Proactiv, to drugstore brands to expensive brands and have not found anything that works until now. I've been using the 2% liquid for about 2 months now and saw results immediately. My skin is consistently clear, and much smoother. I used to have little bumps all over my forehead and they're completely gone. I use this twice a day with the blemish fighting solution at night. The texture is great and it's just the right amount of moisture. I also tried the 1% and 2% lotion but it made my skin worse.

Cleansers -Paula's Choice - One Step Face Cleanser-Normal to Dry Skin
rebvt 10/15/2007 6:18:00 PM
I have very sensitive, slightly acne-prone, oily skin that seems to react best to dry skin products. I've been using this cleanser for about 3 months, mostly during the summer months so I'm not sure how my skin will react during the winter (it is slightly drying even during the summer). It works great at night to take off all makeup (minus eye makeup) and makes my face feel clean at the end of the day, but when I tried to use this twice a day it was too much and too drying and my face started to break out. I will continue to use at night and use a more moisutizing cleanser in the mornings.

Treatments -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream
rebvt 4/29/2007 10:31:00 PM
I really wanted to like this product based on the good reviews. I have oily, slightly acne-prone, sensitive skin and this cream broke my skin out immediately. I used it for about a week and it did make my skin feel soft and actually kept the oiliness down, but the breakouts weren't worth it. I returned the product and won't be re-purchasing.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rebvt 10/15/2006 3:02:00 PM
I've used this product on and off for at least 3 years. I do notice after a while that my skin gets used to it so I stop for a while, but I always come back to it. I have tried almost every skin care product out there and this is the only thing that consistently works. I've found that the cleanser works best if you use it by itself (instead of washing makeup off first at night with another cleanser). If you use the cleanser with very little water (I just wet my hands and then touch my face), it works very well to remove makeup, and has made a significant difference for me as far as clearing up my skin. I use the cleanser at night and cetaphil in the shower in the morning, and the other 2 products twice a day. My only complaint is that the cleanser can stain things (pillowcases, towels, shirt collars), I had to buy all white towels and sheets, but I have found that it's worth it.
