Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites- Cappuccino
rated 4 of 5
rebekah1764 5/12/2013 5:39:00 PM

I first bough this gloss when I was 11 and I'm still using it, 8 years later lol. This really is a fantastic product. Good opacity and natural nude color, not sticky and has a nice taste. Some people may be turned off by the smell of the product because it is a very sweet mocha scent. I personally don't mind it. I have tried so many glosses from NARS to MAC to Chantecaille and this is still one of my all time favorites! And it is DIRT CHEAP. These are getting a little trickier to find though, at least where I live. I just hope this product never gets discontinued in my lifetime because I will cry. Unbelievable performance and quality for the price. As an adult, I love it now, as does my inner pre-teen.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 1/20/2013 1:58:00 PM

Okay so I'm a little late to jump on the Naked band wagon (wow that sounds bad) but I have to say that I am OBSESSED. It's such a good deal and the quality is amazing. The shades are so pretty, the only one I'm not a huge fan of is Sidecar because there's obvious glitter. Other than that this palette is great for everyday use or for playing up your eyes at night. That's what so great about this palette- you can create so many looks ranging from neutral to smokey and vampy. when prepped with UDPP, these shadows last all day long. With the primer, these shadows lasted for 8 hours throughout prom with sweating and dancing. They didn't budge or fade- amazing! I was an eyeshadow virgin before this palette and now I see what all the buzz is about. My eyes have never looked better!

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Metallic Lipstick - Beige Gold
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 1/20/2013 1:40:00 PM

Okay this is for BB rich lip color in Beige Gold. not sure if this is the same product but just wanted to clarify: This is my all time favorite nude lip color! It doesn't wash me out or make me look like a corpse or adult film star. It's just a gorgeous beige sheen with slight shimmer- no obvious glitter. It gives your lips a nice glow. staying power is pretty good and there is no funky smell or taste. I love the sleek packaging and the product inside is pretty sturdy. I hate when lipstick gets bent or smooshed inside from application. This lip color is perfect for when you want a little something on your lips or even when you're pairing with a smokey eye. This color could is so versatile, it's my everyday staple and it always makes me happy to pull this out of my purse :)

Concealers -NYX - HD Photogenic Concealer Wand
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 5:31:00 PM

An absolutely amazing concealer. Covers blemishes and dark circles like no other without looking thick or cakey, lasts throughout the day. I did experience a bit of creasing at first but that problem tends to be fixed when set with powder. Looks especially flawless when I dot it under my eyes, tap it in a bit with my fingers and then blend it in with the Real Techniques stippling brush- it makes me look airbrushed. I'm NW20 and I picked up shade 06 Glow

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 4:23:00 PM

I picked up a bottle of this when i was visiting family in England over summer. it was my first foundation purchase, and since them I have gotten so many people addicted to it as well. People ask all the time what I use, and living here in CA it is not super easy to get. I had to spend quite some time looking around online for a store that would ship to the US. i ended up ordering from echemist.co.uk. Shipping took forever but oh well. My mom and I basically stockpiled this stuff because it is that amazing. It definitely has a yellow color base, so if you have golden undertones in your skin then yay for you, check this out! However, if you are oily, this is probably not something you'd want to try. My skin is normal but a little on the dry side and after a few hours, this makes my face pretty slick. I just blot with Clean and Clear oil absorbing sheets and that pretty much fixes thr problem. The foundation is creamy and looks absolutely gorgeous on. it completely evens out your skin tone and adds a natural glow, not shimmery, but like you just got a really good facial. I think this foundation is pretty full coverage but it doesn't seem to suffocate the skin, or look caked on. It seems to do a really good job of mimicing the natural appearance of skin. It feels like you have something on your face though if you build it up too much, and some people may not mind that feeling but I can't stand it. It blends easily and does not look cakey, just make sure to set it somehow. As much as I love this foundation, I am on the lookout for something else that's not so oil-producing so that I can have a summer foundation. The pump dispenser is great, it is sleek and not messy at all. There is a slight fruity scent (it smells similar to PF Happy Booster Blush) but I really don't mind that. I actually kind of like it and the smell fades after a while but it certainly beats smelling like 'makeup' you know the powdery makeup smell I'm talking about? Ick, I don't want someone to lean in close and then think "cake face". So people who would (probably) probably like this foundation : -Looking for something affordable -looking for a creamy liquid foundation in a pump dispenser -someone with yellow undertones -someone who doesn't have issues with oil production And you might want to steer clear if: you have oily skin, and undertones that aren't yellow.

Self Tanners -Fake Bake - flawless self tan liquid
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 4:08:00 PM

Okay for anyone who is already wondering: Oompa Loompa? Snookie? or beta carotene overdose? NO! this product is amazing and did not turn me one bit orange! I have a very pale olive skin tone and over the summer I decided I wanted a bit more color, okay a LOT more color and decided to test this product out. It is a bit scary when you see the liquid at first because it has a greenish tint, but that it just the 'color guard" so you can see where it applies and make sure it is all blended in evenly. The color guard will wash off. I'll be honest, I just lay this stuff on. two layers for two to three nights in a row until I look like I just rolled off a beach in Barbados. People who know how pale I am complimented on my color. I asked a good friend of mine if I look orange at all and, she tells it like it is, she said 'not at all, you look like you've been hanging out at the beach'. And isn't that what we want our self-tans to look like? Keep in mind, you will not get noticeably darker with only one application, it does need some time to build up. In my case, I just wanted a lot of color in a short amount of time and luckily that self tan overload did not make me look like a carrot. One application will give you a nice glow but if you want that beachy tint, you'll want to do a few applications with a heavier amount of product for a few days. Just be sure to exfoliate fairly regularily if you use this (as I'm sure is true with most self tans) as this will start to look kind of funny after a week or two when youre skin naturally starts to renew/shed. It'll kind of flake off and look scaly if you go too long without exfoliation. And then a daily moisturizer on top preserves the color and keeps the skin from looking too dry which is a big no-no with fake baking. Lovely lovely product, the mitt that it comes with is great too and doesn't allow you to look streaky or apply messily (or end up with stained palms). This is not too $$$ I think I bought mine online for about $19, and you'll get a few months' worth of applications from it, give or take depending on how often you use it.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen Creme Cup
rated 4 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 3:36:00 PM

Was lemming this for months before I finally just said oh hell and bought it. Not sure what was up with the lighting in the MAC store I went to where I first tried this color on. I was disappointed because it washed me out and had a bluish tint that was not flattering on my skin tone. But when I saw it in Nordstrom's it looked like the perfect nude baby pink so I picked it up. Tried it on again at home and LOVED it. I am super picky about lipsticks and find that a lot of pinks can pull too brown. But Creme cup was exactly how I hoped it would be, no brown tint and definitely not blue like it was in MAC. I loved how it looked in natural light so i decided it was a keeper. I love the sleek bullet-style packaging and the texture is nice and creamy, not dry or gritty like some lipsticks. Now i know why this is such a popluar color from MAC! I'm NW20 and i think this lipstick looks just perfect with MAC's prrr layered on top.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
rated 4 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 3:31:00 PM

I'm somewhere around NW20, this time of year my skin is a bit paler. I think this is such a lovely color. Peachy pinks look good against my skin color. I love layering this over Creme Cup, and it is the perfect neutral baby pink lip with just a hint of peach shimmer (how's that for a description? lol) The texture is a bit sticky but I've been spoiled by the Chantecaille Brillaint glosses. I think the sizing of the tube is decent. I don't wear my MAC lip products on a daily basis so a tube of lipglass usually lasts me years. I don;t mind the light vanilla scent, though scentless would be preferable. It definitely beats a lot of other scents i know (NYX smells like cherry cough syrup to me and Maybelline products often taste like plastic). Prrr had been on my wishlist for a while and I finally got it for my birthday and I'm so glad I did! So swatch it first and try it out on your skintone to see if you like it :)

Eyeliner -MAC - Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Stubborn Brown
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 12/7/2012 3:09:00 PM

I love this eye pencil. I've had it for years (i probably should get a new one...) and only recently started using it on a daily basis and realized how amazing it is. The color is a super gorgeous creamy dark chocolate that gives great definition to the eyes. It's a wonderful alternative for black which can sometimes look overpowering. It blends easily for a sophisticated smokey eye but stays in place all day. It lasts pretty well on the waterline too. My only gripe is the constant sharpening, and maybe I'm not using a very good sharpener but i find that I have trouble sharpening MAC pencil products in general. The packaging is sleek and beautiful as is the product inside. A must have for me!

Bronzers -MAC - Refined Golden
rated 1 of 5
rebekah1764 11/4/2012 1:49:00 PM

Lucky for me, I didn't have to buy this. A woman my dad went on a date with left this in his car and she never called back so he gave it to me lol. This bronzer did not work for me at all, it is just a glitter bomb! Maybe my skintone isn't right for this (NW20), because it turned me a ruddy orange color- not pretty! I can't say much for the price since I didn't buy it, knowing MAC this probably isn't too outrageous. Benefit Hoola worked 100 times better for me. Even Rimmel's sunbronzer performed better than this one (on my skin at least) and that one is only like $4 at the drugstore. The finish was not natural at all even when I applied it with a very light hand. I like my bronzer to look fairly neutral. I just want it to add warmth to my face and not scream "I'm wearing bronzer!!" Unfortunately, this product did just that. So if you're skin tone is darker and you like shimmer, this may be a good fit for you. Nice packaging though, that's one pro!

Cleansers -Purpose - Moisturizing Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 11/4/2012 1:22:00 PM

This is the best cleanser I have ever found. I used to use Cetaphil but I found that it didn't do a great job at removing my makeup. Purpose is just as gentle, it's super inexpensive, never irriattes my skin and easily takes all my makeup off. It is gentle enough that I can even use it to take off my eye makeup. This can be a little hard to find, that's the only downside. Otherwise it is a fantastic product!

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 9/16/2012 6:57:00 PM

Must say I'm pleasantly surprised. I know mascara works differently for everyone, but this one has become my favorite. I have used Maybelline's Colossal for years and was skeptical that anything could replace that, but i think Grow luscious may have done exactly that. After being let down by a few Revlon mascaras in the past, I honestly wasn't expecting much with this purchase. However! I really love this mascara. It reminds me a lot of Benefit Bad Gal, though I think Bad Gal may have a slightly drier formula. grow luscious makes my lashes look the way that Bad Gal did- jet black, full but not cakey or spidery. Yes the brush is huge and that may take some people a little getting used to and I've found that the formula tends to build up on the base of the brush but it's no problem once you just wipe it off. I think I paid 7 or 8 bucks for this at Ulta. Also, don't believe the hype that this can grow your lashes- it can't. There isn't any ingredient in the formula capable of doing that. But as far as just a mascara goes, I think this is a great buy. So if you like larger wands and thick dark lashes then give this a shot!

Palettes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Her Name Was Glowla Palette
rated 4 of 5
rebekah1764 5/4/2012 11:15:00 PM

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I got this for xmas of 2011 and really hadn't used it a lot until recent months. The colors are gorgeous, the quality is fantastic. I am especially in love with the eyeshadows and the mini highlighters. The eyeshadow colors are so beautiful and the silky texture makes them so easy to blend and apply. I never really understood what all the hype was about Highbeam but once i finally learned how to apply it properly (on top of my cheekbones, on the browbone and just a bit down the center of my nose) i fell in love. It really perks up your whole face and adds a nice sheen without the chunks of glitter. The only part of this palette that i wasn't crazy about was the lipgoss. I loved the color but it felt a bit tacky and gritty due to the sparkle. Overall, this palette combines some of Benefit's best products. I wish more palettes were as well combined and fun as this one! I've never been much of a palette girl, but this is now my go-to for creating soft looks for day, or just using heavier application and creating more intense looks for night. They really should put this palette out again so that more people can buy it because it really is such a rare (and stunning!) collection.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Sun Beam
rated 3 of 5
rebekah1764 5/4/2012 11:05:00 PM

soooo pretty, but seriously 26 bucks? While this product worked beautifully on my skintone I definitely think it is overpriced. I was worried at first that this would be too glittery, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it just had a nice mild bronzy sheen. It is much more of a highlighter than a bronzer so don't expect this to really add much color. The product delivery is very much like its sister, HighBeam. Sunbeam just has a slightly golden undertone while highbeam is more pearly. The packaging is okay- usually with products like these (especially ones that are more expensive) I tend to prefer tubes which are more sanitary and also keep the product fresher longer. Do i think this a must-have? No, but it is nice if you have an extra wad of cash and don't mind shelling out for it. If they ever offer this in a travel/sample size then check it out, I'm just not sure if the full size is worth the price tag.

Scrubs -Aveeno - Skin Brightening Daily Scrub
rated 5 of 5
rebekah1764 1/30/2012 10:34:00 PM

I would not be without this scrub! I realized what a huge difference it makes in the quality of my skin once I stopped using it and my hyper pigmentation got worse. so now I absolutely 100% have to have this on hand at all times. I find it really effective at preventing and healing breakouts. I use it daily and it works great for me but for those who have skin on the drier side, this could be a little too drying for everyday use. The only downside is that the price has gone up to almost 8 bucks (at least where I live). Only on occasion can I find it marked down for around 4. Overall, the price is still fairly reasonable for the results I get with it. I don't even think I'd be tempted by higher-end scrubs because I'm so pleased with this one.
