Cleansers -Sage - regular strength facial shampoo
reallyLily 7/16/2007 12:06:00 PM
I used this product for many years. It is a gentle cleanser, and like an idiot, I saw the "may contain safflower" oil on it and assumed that it was removing my LRP waterproof sunscreen. I noticed recently that the "may contain safflower oil" notice is gone from the bottle. I emailed Sage and they wrote back and told me that my products *never* contained any safflower oil. That ingredient would have only been added if I had been asking for custom formulated products. I guess it is partially my fault for not asking more questions, but now that I am using a cleansing oil, I have had better luck removing my sunscreen and fewer breakouts. I'm glad that I discovered this big "flaw" in my favorite cleanser - I was kind of tired the company's high shipping prices and slower shipping times.

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap Extra Mild
reallyLily 7/16/2007 12:01:00 PM
I bought this product because I hoped it would take off my sunscreen. I knew that it wouldn't be a foaming product but I was still surprised at how much it felt like a lotion. I used the product for a couple of days and then found that I was breaking out in areas where I normally have no problem.

Styling Products -Jonathan - Finish Control High Shine Flexible Hairspray
reallyLily 1/13/2007 2:38:00 AM
This hair spray works really well on my fine wavy hair. I live near the ocean, so we often have high/cool humidity with the fog. This product does a good job of taming frizz and giving me a little bit of extra hold. The hair spray doesn't make my hair feel stiff or sticky at all - I just spritz it on for a couple of seconds and then run my hands along my hair like I'm putting it into a ponytail.

Styling Products -Jonathan - Silky Dirt

I got a sample of this with my Sephora order. At first I was skeptical, but I tried it and loved it. I have fine wavy hair that is in long layers past shoulder length. This stuff really gives my curls/waves a nice Botticelli look. I would have preferred an unscented product, but I can live with the scent since the results are so great.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Janson-Beckett AlphaDerma CE

I have some horizontal wrinkle lines on my neck that bother me. I've been looking for something that will improve the appearance, and this cream does the trick. I tried a few other products including Sage's firming and brightening cream (new formula), Retin-a micro .04 and .1, Karin Herzog vita-a-kombi, and all of these products really irritated my neck and made it red. I got a sample of Alphaderma CE from Skinstore and used it for several weeks. It really did improve the appearance of the skin on my neck, so I bought the full size. Since I use it just on my neck, this bottle is going to last for a long time, so the price isn't too much of a problem. I think it is a good value for the $$$.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno

I have had my zeno for nearly a year. I used two full treatment tips, and was on my third when disaster struck. I have very mild breakouts, but I had a red bump on my cheek, and I started to use the zeno. It felt unusually hot, so I stopped after about a minute. My skin was very red, and within a couple of hours, a blister has formed. Up to today, I would have highly recommended this product to anyone, but now I think it is a bit dangerous if it can malfunction this way. I spoke to the manufacturer, and their CS was fantastic.

Skincare - Face -DERMAdoctor - Tease Zone
reallyLily 8/4/2006 1:42:00 PM
I bought this product on the recommendation of mua-er dker. I have combination skin, and my sunscreen often looks very shiny on my face (LRP dermo-pediatrics spf50+). I use one pump of the tease zone product about 20 minutes before applying sunscreen, and the look/feel of my face is so much nicer. It really makes the sunscreen bearable because it no longer looks like it is melting off of my face.

Sunscreen -Avene - Avene Eau Thermale Emulsion Protection Extreme SPF 60
reallyLily 11/13/2005 4:04:00 PM
I got a sample of this product when I ordered a couple of other Avene items from eBay. I have combination normal-to-dry skin that is prone to cosmetic acne. I applied 1/4 tsp. to my face, and reapplied once during the day. The finish of this SS was okay looking, not too shiny, but the sticky texture was the worst I've had, and dry flo AF powder didn't help very much. The following day, I had a large collection of red bumps on my face, so I can only conclude that this SS irritated my skin. I much prefer LRP dermo-pediatrics.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cellular Skin Rx- C+ firming Serum
reallyLily 10/26/2005 7:41:00 PM
I bought the C+ serum a couple of months ago. I really had high hopes for it, but my skin doesn't like it. I have normal/combo skin, and I can use this on my forehead melasma spots with no problems. If I apply just one drop to the rest of my face, the next day my skin is an angry red color that lasts a couple of days and looks almost like a bad sunburn. The company had great customer service, and I think their product is a great value if you can tolerate it, but since I can't use it on my whole face, I give it a less than perfect rating.
