Polishes -OPI - Get Your Number
rated 5 of 5

I am honestly in love with this. This is one of my new favorite nail polishes! With a base and top coat it lasts for a week without chipping. I've gotten so many compliments while wearing this. Not only is it a gorgeous, bright, sparkly jewel blue, the gritty texture is so much fun. I've never worn a polish like this before. It's matte, but has a glittery sand texture that makes it so unique. I bought this in a mini bottle, and I'll definitely be purchasing a full size!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - White On
rated 3 of 5
rarityfalls 2/23/2013 1:36:00 PM

This polish looks great, and lasts about a week, with a base and top coat, with very minor chipping. The formula could use some improving though. It takes quite some time to dry and goes on pretty thick. I'd buy this product again because it's a beautiful clean white, but I'm not crazy about the hassle it can be to apply. Next time I'll probably splurge on a more expensive white.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 2/2/2013 3:55:00 PM

So I've been using this for a full month now, and I think I know it well enough to write an actual review. Luckily, I have good things to say. I'm a big fan of Lancome's mascaras and makeup remover, so I was so excited to finally try this. I got this in the Hypnose Star collection from Sephora, which included the Hypnose Star Mascara, the makeup remover, and the artliner. First off, I'm really, really, really happy with the staying power. Once you put this on, it's not going anywhere. On days when I don't feel like wearing eyeshadow, I don't bother with a primer and this lasts all day. It doesn't smudge and dries fairly quickly so it doesn't transfer to the upper lid right after application. This is a really dark eyeliner, which is always impressive. I hate eyeliners that start off dark black but sort of fade to an unflattering deep grey. This doesn't, it stays as black as when you first apply. It's easy to apply, even for beginners, as the thin felt tip is pretty easy to control. The only minor downside is that sometimes after you've drawn your line, you have to go back a second or third time because it isn't opaque. It's hard to explain, but sometimes when you draw your line, the felt tip takes some of the product with it and leaves some of your lid showing. This doesn't always happen, so don't let that stop you from buying it. It can be fixed easily with just another swipe of the eyeliner. The price is way up there, but this is definitly an eyeliner that's impressive.

Polishes -Essie - jamaica me crazy
rated 5 of 5
rarityfalls 1/27/2013 9:09:00 PM

I fell in love with this color, and I mean I fell in love with it hard. It's honestly one of the most gorgeous colors I've ever seen, a bright magenta pink made up of tiny, tiny flecks of glitter. It's so Hollywood...reminds me of something Elle Woods would wear. (If we're talking Legally Blonde, Jamaica Me Crazy is actually a line from the musical...ironic) Anyways, this peeled off very easily. I was surprised, as I've never had another polish peel off in huge chunks before. The lasting power was good, about a week with only slight chipping at the tips. My first experience with Essie and I'm impressed.

Polishes -China Glaze - Crackle Glaze Jade-d
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 1/27/2013 3:03:00 PM

This is my first try with a crackle coat (I know, I know, I'm like the last one to jump on the trend). China Glaze has amazing polishes, so I didn't expect anything less from their crackle glaze. What makes this crackle polish so unique is the color. It's a gorgeous, shimmering light gold green. China Glaze's line of glitter crackle polished are the most eye catching colors I've seen, and I'm interest in trying Glam Me Up (an absolutly gorgeous, bright Caribbean aqua blue). I used this over an OPI polish, and was originally just going to use this over my accent nail on my ring finger, but that didn't really work out so I ended up just painting over all of my nails. It doesn't take very long at all to dry, which was a pleasant surprise. I didn't love the way all of the crackles came out. Some of my nails came out with that perfect crackle effect, but some of them just sort of split halfway down the middle or at the bottom. Luckily this was only with two nails, and I'm assuming its because I used a little more coverage on those nails. Other than that, I'm really happy with the way this came out. Even though the crackle trend isn't as popular as it was two years ago, I'll definitely be wearing it now. I paired Jade-d with an opaque, shiny grey by OPI.

Eye Shadow -Inglot - Single Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
rarityfalls 1/14/2013 3:17:00 PM

I am in love with Inglot. Their mascara, their eyeshadows, everything. I have three Inglot eyeshadows, a shimmery blue that comes off as green, a shimmery purple, and a shimmery light yellow. They're all gorgeous with fantastic color payoff. They're the richest most pigmented eyeshdaow that I've ever used. Although I've never tried a Mac eyeshadow, apparently these are better. I can see that being true, as these are beyond amazing. I'd go back to NYC simply to go back to Inglot! (although I adore the entire city ^.^)

Lip Treatments -Chapstick - Lip Moisturizer SPF 15 Original Flavor
rated 3 of 5
rarityfalls 1/14/2013 3:13:00 PM

This product makes my lips feel soft and it's pretty moisturizing. I love the scent and how it doesn't feel too heavy on my lips. It smells like vanilla, which I love :) But I will not repurchase this because it irritates my lips. It makes them sting (not in the good, plumping way) but makes the skin around my lips extremely irritated. I think it's the SPF. I like to put a lot of Chapstick on, and when I do that with this it's irritating. It's a shame, it seems like I good product. I'll save this for the summer when I'm out in the sun, but it's certainly not the product to layer to try and repair chapped lips for me.

Mascara -Stila - Forever Your Curl
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 1/14/2013 2:44:00 PM

I really like this mascara, which is why I'm a little surprised by all the negativity surrounding this product. First off, I adore the shape of the wand. It's perfect for getting into the corners of your eyes and great for coating your bottom lashes without smudging. (something mascaras with bigger wands are infamous for) I think this mascara gives a really pretty, doe eyes, curly look that provides length and seperation. There's also some decent volume. This won't make you have huge, full lush lashes and won't give you that false lash effect, but it gives a gorgeous, feminine, doll eyelash look that's flattering. The formula is on the wetter side, which really helps to sculpt and coat your lashes.

Mascara -Korres - Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara Obsidian Black
rated 3 of 5
rarityfalls 1/14/2013 2:35:00 PM

This product is just meh. Nothing special. Apparently it's a really natural product, which is good. If having natural makeup is really important to you then I guess this would be a good product. Being the mascara junkie that I am though, this just didn't cut it for me. Nothing major in length, nothing major in volume. I've used drugstore mascaras that are worlds better. (however, I do have to give credit for the naturalness of this) The brush was good, a little awkward and slightly clumpy. It wasn't very seperating, and I didn't notice much volume. If anything it gave some okay length, but even then it was on the clumpier side. Apparently this is supposed to be the blackest black, (it's from a volcano...I mean, that sounds pretty impressive to me) but I didn't notice anything special. Put it this way. If I hadn't known about where it had gotten its color, I never would have said, "Wow. You know what? This mascara is so dark it must be from a volcano." Again, I've used much better. (For example- Make Up Forever's Smokey Lash mascara is the blackest black I've ever seen) I wouldn't repurchase just because I wouldn't want to waste my money. However, for someone looking for a natural alternative to regular mascaras, I'm guessing this is on the better end of the spectrum.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Honeysuckle Honeydew
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 1/14/2013 2:28:00 PM

This is my second "tube" (can you call it a tube? I think egg would be more appropriate haha) of this. The first one fell on the ground and broke when it was about halfway gone. I liked it enough to buy a second one. The flavor of this is amazing, it's so delicate and sweet. I find this pretty moisturizing, and I put it on before bed and during the day. The packaging is ridiculously cute and easy to use, giving lots of control. Even as the product wears down, it's still easy to apply. I know some people complain about a lack of moisturizing, but I tend to put a lot of this on and it helps. It's definitely a lot better than leaving my lips bare, that's for sure! I'll definitley be repurchasing, but probably the medicated tangerine flavor next time just to try something new.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Rapid Red
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 1/13/2013 2:31:00 PM

This is that perfect red shade of red. It has good lasting power. Yes, it does chip after a few days, but that's without a topcoat. I love the square shape of the brush, it fits my nails perfectly. It dries quickly which is a huge bonus, too!

Eye Shadow -Bonne Bell - Eye Play Set
rated 3 of 5
rarityfalls 1/13/2013 12:19:00 AM

This really takes me back, haha. This was my first eyeshadow palette when I was just beginning to get into makeup. It's a great palette for beginners...not too expensive with a nice range of colors. There are some nuetrals, dark colors, eye popping shades...bascially all you need for any look. The major problem I have with these are that they fade pretty quickly. They have decent pigmentation, but fade throughout the day. They leave you with sort of half-stained eyelids, which trust me, is not a flattering look. With a primer these are much better though, so I advise in investing in a good primer (UDPP is my HG) before buying. I'll list the colors below: 1. An almost blueish black with tiny flecks of silver glitter 2. A slightly chunky, glittery silver, one of my favorite colors (hit pan) 3. A milk chocolate brown with glitter 4. A brownish yellow gold color with glitter (almost hit pan) 5. A dark mint green with light green glitter 6. A gorgeous turqoise blue with glitter 7. A greyish forest green with green glitter 8. A very light pastel purple with glitter 9. A bright purpley blue with glitter 10. A light brown color that's got a hint of gold with glitter 11. A deep magenta with glitter, a color I have yet to see replicated in any other paletter anywhere, one of my all time favorites (hit pan) 12. A darkish pastel pink with glitter So as you can tell, you get twelve colors that glitter. The glitter only really shows up on the silver, gold, and brown colors for the most part. Matte fans might not be head over heels for this... The black base of the packing can get really messy with the different eyeshadow colors, (as you can probably see in the picture, although it's not the best quality) so be careful. All in all it's a good basic palette if you have a primer. It's great for experimenting without spending a ton of money, and I recommend it to beginners!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear - Invisible
rated 4 of 5
rarityfalls 1/13/2013 12:03:00 AM

This is a pretty good top coat. It makes my manicures last well over a week and sometimes, with the case of nail "stickers" well up to three weeks. The only problem I have with this is that it takes longer than I'd like for it to dry, but I guess that's the price to pay for nails that last. This is my second bottle...when I went to pick up a new top coat, I stayed with this one because I knew I couldn't go wrong! No chipping, which is an instant winner in my book.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
rated 5 of 5
rarityfalls 1/12/2013 11:58:00 PM

I'm honestly in love with this mascara. I'm a HUGE mascara junkie, and have quite a collection. Lights Camera Lashes has reached the highest honor in my opinion. It's my go to mascara for special occasions and when I really want my lashes to look their absolute best. This gives the best false lash effect I've ever tried with a mascara. It's just...wow. Just try it, you'll understand. It holds a curl really well too, which is important, because curling your lashes after applying this really amps this mascara up to the next level. I know there are lots of Youtube reviews on Lights Camera Lashes, so I reccomend watching those to see what I'm talking about. Tarte continues to impress me with their mascaras!

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Bouncy Blush in Pink Frosting
rated 3 of 5
rarityfalls 1/12/2013 11:54:00 PM

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised by all the negativity surrounding these blushes. I got mine after hearing all the hype, and I picked it up in Pink Frosting. I don't like my blush to be super dark, but I don't want it to be so light it's invisible. That's why I thought this creamy, frosting colored pink would be perfect. It can be a little hard to blend on the skin, so be careful not to use too much product at once. Also, don't dig your fingers into it, as you could loosen the product from the container and cause it to fall out. (I know I've heard about multiple people having that problem, although I have yet to run into it) The blush really sits on the skin and doesn't fade easily. It lasts all day and gives a gorgeous flush that hasn't been replicated by other blushes. My advice is to be careful and not use a heavy hand while applying. People say that these blushes aren't pigmented enough, which shocks me. I have to be careful with mine because it's so pigmented! Maybe Pink Frosting is just a really good color? Regardless, I think these blushes are worth a shot if you're tired of powder and want to try something new.
