Loose Powders -Givenchy - Prisme Libre Loose Powder Quartet Air Sensation
rated 3 of 5

I have this in shade 3 - sweet caramel and whilst I find that upon application my skin is soft and has a nice finish to it, usually around 4-6 hrs later, it oxidises on my skin and leaves it looking muddy and oily. I normally use clinique's blended face powder and i will continue using that instead! Its such a shame cos givenchy's packaging and texture is lovely!

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
rated 2 of 5

I am sooo sad that this product did not work for me! After the raves from temptalia and xsparkage and others, I went out to search for it high and low (hard to find in london). When I found it in a pharmacy, I got excited and bought two lipbalms at £7.50 each. Biggest mistake! I dont have sensitive skin but this lipbalm dried my lips out after a few minutes of applying it. I thought maybe it was absorbing into my lips and its gna feel better but eventually I was reapplying every 15 minutes. I should have stopped using it there and then but I really believed it would be a HG worthy lipbalm. That night, my lips went sooo dry and painful and sore nothing would heal it (not even my trusty carmex). The next morning my lips were bright red, cracked and the skin around my lips started flaking. It looked rough and cakey especially on my cupids now and mouth. After at least a week of drenching my lips in vaseline and carmex, there was signs of recovery. Have such a fear of this lipbalm and I have put it away. Have lost the receipt so cant even take the unopened and sealed one back.

Mascara -MAC - Plush Lash
rated 1 of 5

Ive always wanted to try MAC mascaras and so thought this time i would give plushlash a try as it had the most raves on youtube. However I was really disappointed. I could not stand the fragrance in it...it irritated my eyes. I thought the packaging was quite poor and looked quite cheap and tacky. Did not add volume or length to my lashes. ...so as you can guess..,i gave it away and will definitely never be repurchasing any MAC mascaras again.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara

I got this mascara in Carbon Black. However, after about 1 hour it flaked really badly and smudged alot. For this reason I would not repurchase. I did like the fact that it builds up though.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pink Poodle Lipglass
rated 4 of 5

Really amazing pink lipgloss which has a lovely creamy texture which isnt sticky. However, the colour you have to be careful with the application to ensure an even coverage. Also, it isnt long wearing and comes off patchy during the day so I have to reapply every hour. Love the colour but wont repurchase because of the unevenness of it.

Treatments -Clarins - HydraQuench Intensive Serum
rated 5 of 5
rani003 1/22/2011 7:59:00 PM

I absolutely love this product and it is my skin saviour especially during the winter. I have dry/combination skin, but where my skin is dry, its rough, flaky, tight and uncomfortable, and strangely where my skin is oily, it still is a little flaky. The reason for this is because my skin is really dehydrated and no matter how much water i drink, im still wholly dependant on a rich moisturiser. A while back, i had a facial at Clarins spa and the lady recommended me this product. I bought it and now i am seriously addicted. I apply this serum after my toner and sometimes i feel that i dont even need any moisturiser as my skin feels so supple! If i do apply moisturiser on top then throughout the whole day my skin looks and feel soft and hydrated. I use this product every day twice a day and i dont know what id do without it! Touch wood i havent noticed any side effects or any (negative) reaction. Love it anf highly recommend for anyone who has dry flaky skin....use it after you exfoliate, and your skin will stay smooth! ++Not sure if this is related, but on days where i have run out of the serum and cant apply moisturiser for what ever reason, my skin feels alot more comfortable (there is still a TINY bit of dryness) but nothing uncomfortable!

Liquid -Clinique - Supermoisture Makeup
rated 5 of 5
rani003 11/25/2010 1:40:00 PM

As someone mentioned below, I also feel I have to write a review because the ratings for this Clinique foundation are too low! Firstly, I have dry combination skin in the summer and in the winter, I have extremely uncomfortably dry skin. I have tried alot of foundations for winter wear and nothing feels as good as Clinique supermoisture foundation. This foundation almost has a gel-like texture to it...similar to MAC studio sculpt, but it is alot more comfortable than any MAC foundations. The foundation is meant to moisture your skin throughout the day and I have to say how impressed I am. It really does work! It covers beautifully...a tip though is to apply it with your fingers - like you would do with a moisturiser. This is because the texture of it is not very fluid and it feels more comfortable on your skin if you press it into your skin. It has a sheer-moderate coverage...depending on how much you build it up and it comes in a squeezy tube which helps with the application I guess. I dont agree with the reviews that there is glitter in the foundation! There is absolutely no way on earth there is glitter in it. I would describe it as subtle shimmer to give a dewy finish, and it does achieve that, but it is definitely not unbearable or obvious. When I wear it, my skin feels comfortable and looks even and radiant. Bearing that in mind, I would definitely not recommend this foundation to anyone with oily skin. In the summer i have quite an oily t-zone and this foundation slides off, but for the winter season...Clinique Supermoisture is definitely my staple foundation! :-)

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
rated 1 of 5
rani003 11/1/2010 5:03:00 PM

This mascara is so dissapointing! It defines lashes ok but the name is really misleading...it does not provide volume or length and sometimes deposits product unevenly so my lashes looked really bad. I am so so so dissapointed and would not recommend it. EDIT: COULD NOT GET PAST THE OVERBEARING SCENT in it...so I happily binned it...which is a first because normally I will always force myself to finish products! Also removed a lippie because it annoyed me.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 3 of 5
rani003 10/23/2010 7:49:00 AM

I really wanted to like this mascara...it does everything you would want a mascara to do and at drugstore price, i really thought that i found my HG! However, recently i have been noticing that this mascara tends to flake alot! Beucase during the day i get quite oily skin, the mascara flakes melts on my skin and i end up with a huge black splodge of mascara! Really disappointing....would not buy again.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
rani003 9/8/2010 5:09:00 PM

TFSI has a better packaging than UDPP by far. It is also quite tacky in comparison to UDPP and Estee Lauder's Doublewear shadow primer, so I have longer time to apply my eyeshadows, as I feel that once it has set, the eyeshadows do not look as vibrant. I am really really dependant on TFSI to makesure my makeup lasts a long time as I have super super super oily eyelids (I sometimes have to use blotting sheets on them). Lasts a long time, easy to use, perfect as e/s base...will definitely repurchase although I dont see my self running out in the next year or so (i've already had mine for 6 mths and use it everyday). The one thing I do notice is that sometimes after a long day or under spotlights, my makeup melts faster and the TFSI does not really help it stay put...but then again I guess its just the heat rather than the product. I dont expect a product to last me 12+ hours without touching up!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 3 of 5
rani003 9/3/2010 10:47:00 PM

Im not too keen on this foundation but I am really trying hard to use it often and see whether my opinion changes...but no...it has not and I regret to say that I am not really a Nars Sheer Glow fan...actually tbh, im not a NARS makeup fan fullstop (***ducks and hides***). This foundation has an amazing texture, feel and look to the skin but after a while, the foundation really starts to cake on my t-zone. I have a normal-oily t-zone but this foundation starts to look really patchy and makes my skin look really dry to the point where if someone were to look close to my face, they would think woahhhhh! lol I have tried to use a stipling brush and a flat foundation brush and the foundation still cakes after about 4 hours. Am going to give it one last chance and use my fingers to pat it in and blend. If it works...greatttt and if it does not...o well...i gave it a go :) Foundations normally last me about a year anyways but I will not be repurchasing this one. Also I don't like the fact that it does not have a pump so you risk spillages! Looks like i'll be sticking to my Clinique Superfit Foundation!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Carbon
rated 3 of 5
rani003 8/10/2010 9:31:00 PM

I agree with the comment below...if you have carbon...just use it up but its not something i would repurchase because it is not pigmented enough. Tbh i dont understand the hype about it...there are loads more pigmented true blacks and I feel that with this one I have to layer it loads to get the true effect I want. Am still no where near touching pan even though ive had it for 2+ years and use it alot (to finish it)..have barely made a dent in it.

Styling Products -Aveda - Air Control hairspray
rated 2 of 5
rani003 8/10/2010 3:20:00 PM

There are wayyy better hairsprays that are less expensive. For the price this does not exceed expectations...it does not meet even meet them. After i style my hair, i lightly spray some all over and it doesnt do anything...so I have shoved it to the back of my closet...Would not repurchase....prefer Tony and Guy spray for hold and Loreal Elnett too

Cleansers -Boots - No7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes - All Skin Types
rated 2 of 5

I really didnt like this product...I felt that the wipes are not wet enough and they dont take all my makeup off leaving me to wash my face after! Prefer the MAC wipes.
