Eye Shadow -Edward Bess - Ultra Luminous Eyeshadow

I have loved the Intimate shade for quite a while, and now I've ordered Dusk and Nude. If they have the same hard-to-describe luminosity without serious shimmer, they will be winners as well. I am a serious fan of all EB products, and I'd love to see what he could do with a pressed face powder...something magical, I think!

I second everything said by the previous reviewer. Very wearable brown with rose overtones. And I love the name!

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Bahama Brown Shimmer Blush
rated 5 of 5
racket11 5/12/2008 12:45:00 AM

This is the only BB blush I feel really good wearing! So many blushes (not just hers) come off really pink and garish on me. Had this in 2 former BB summer palettes and always hoped it would appear on its own. Yes, it does look eye-shadowish...I accidently used some as my crease shadow, intending to use the Tan shadow I had in the 4-pan Palette. It wasn't so bad! And the shimmer is subtle enough for those of us who aren't shimmery.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Neutral Eye Shadow Palette
rated 5 of 5
racket11 11/18/2007 4:28:00 PM

I am now going to double the average age of product reviewers here... This palette was for me a happy surprise! Cement I have used before and liked, but Slate is a deeper grey than I would have chosen. I find it works very well to accent my eyes, both on the lid and blended over Cement in the outer part of the crease. Also as a subtle lower lid liner. And Mahogany is BB's best brown eyeshadow for lining in my opinion. A great understated look!

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Best Sellers Lip and Eye Palette 2007
rated 5 of 5

This palette works! I was abroad for 3 weeks and used almost nothing else. The colors are all wearable and flattering, and the 2-tiered packaging is more user-friendly than any of the lip/eye combo palettes so far. Hope BB keeps the great palettes coming!

Eye Makeup Remover -Bobbi Brown - Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover
rated 3 of 5
racket11 1/1/2007 11:54:00 AM

Big disappointment, as I am a BB fan and like the line's other skincare products that I've tried. I find this remover to be a bit oily and less effective than most eyemakeup removers. It comes out of the bottle so fast that a lot of product is wasted, so it doesn't last very long. My search goes on...

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Extra Balm Rinse
rated 5 of 5
racket11 11/24/2006 2:33:00 PM

I ordered the small tube first, just to try it. I didn't expect to be overwhelmed, but I was! I have combination skin (albeit mature...very mature) and this cleanser leaves it hydrated, not greasy, and very smooth. It's also close to a relaxing aromatherapy treatment...perfect to use right before bed. I ordered the large jar as soon as I realized it was a great product, and I still have my tube for travel. I'm OK with the fact that it doesn't remove all eye makeup. Use a remover first for that purposwe, then enjoy a luxurious skin treatment with Extra Balm Rinse.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Sunshine Spa Lavender with St. John's Wort & Celtic Sea Salt Herbal Salt Scrub
rated 5 of 5
racket11 6/12/2006 3:36:00 PM

I have been using this scrub for years. It's now $12 at my local Whole Foods, but still an incredible bargain. But I buy it because it is effective and smells great. Like getting a salt rub at a spa!

Lip Treatments -Sukí - Suki Naturals Lip Repair Butter
rated 3 of 5
racket11 2/19/2006 5:38:00 PM

This is the only disappointment for me in suki's products. It's neither buttery or lip-repairing for me, just an average lip balm I will use it up,but not repurchase @ $8.00/tube.

Skincare - Body -Sukí - Suki Delicate Moisture Body Oil
rated 5 of 5
racket11 2/19/2006 5:19:00 PM

I received a sample of this and didn't care for the scent, initially. But it's really grown on me, and I'm thinking of purchasing a bottle. It doesn't take the place of body lotions and creams, but it 's very good for the stated uses. I like it for extra dry patches and parts. And the smell takes me back to the Spa!

Toners -Sukí - Suki concentrated facial toner
rated 5 of 5
racket11 1/30/2006 12:04:00 PM

Actually, there are two toners in this line, White Willow for blemishing, oily or rosacea conditions, and Shitake for dry, mature or combo skin. I use them both, depending on my changeable skin's needs at the time. When I started using these, and other products in Suki's line, the flakiness and redness around my nose disappeared. That was almost a year ago and I am now a happy convert to natural skin care. I also really like the Lemongrass Cleanser {a scrub type) and the two Facial Serums. Suki's Naturals sells two minikits so you can try several products. If you can't find them in Whole Foods or a health food store, you can order from their website. I love these products!!!

Liquid -Jane Iredale - Liquid Minerals
rated 2 of 5
racket11 1/25/2006 3:21:00 PM

I SO wanted this to work for me, and I have really tried to get it right. But now I GIVE UP!! I think the color selection is the hardest part. There are so many inconsistencies with JI color. The liquid doesn't match the corresponding powders in color. And strangely, some shades that are supposed to be darker are actually lighter! I tried 4 shades and none worked. The finished look also varies a lot. Sometimes too shiny, sometimes too dry. I tried Illuminare in Fantastic Finish, and it looks natural while covering well.

Blush -Ramy Beauty Therapy - Face Gloss
rated 5 of 5
racket11 1/25/2006 2:49:00 PM

This is a multi-purpose product, but I use it mostly on my lips. The color I have is Sugar Glow!, and it's great over dark lipstick to lighten the shade and give more contour to the lips. It's small. but really lasts. The case is cute, with a tiny mirror in the lid.

Moisturizers -Nature's Gate - Have a Vine Day Chardonnay Hydrator
rated 5 of 5
racket11 1/24/2006 6:00:00 PM

I got this at Whole Foods. It's a light, refreshing morning treatment that I love to apply before going to the gym (no makeup). It's not for when serious moisturizing is necessary, but putting it on always makes me feel good!

Eyes -Bioelements - tinted eye and lid smoother
rated 5 of 5
racket11 12/31/2005 10:43:00 PM

This looked like it might be too dark for me (BB warm sand) but it's not, just needs to be applied sparingly. I like it instead of concealer for most occasions...it does lighten the under-eye area in a subtle way, and it hyprates well. Nice if you like a natural look. It doesn't cause skin to "pill" like some under eye creams, and it isn't too heavy. I save the serious eye balms for night. I found this online somehow, and otherwise have never heard of Bioelements!
