Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 5 of 5

I never thought that Dandelion would work for me. I have medium yellow based skin that tans very easily; I thought it wouldn't show up at all. I purchased Georgia thinking it was perfect for girls with my skin tone--it smelled nice, but that was about it. I figured that the Benefit powders just were not for me. My Sister-In-Law wears Dandelion, and since she is a PPP it only further formed my ideas what it wasn't for me. I finally ordered it from Sephora.com (the stores were always sold out) and I am in love with it. It gives the perfect brightness and color to my skin. It's elegant, and just pink enough. I really recommend this to everyone. Even if it's not the perfect blush for you, try it over your cheekbones, it's goregous, and shouldn't be passed over by my fellow medium-skinned ladies!

Mascara -Tarte - Lash Hugger Mascara
rated 5 of 5

I can't give enough praise to Lash Hugger mascara. I just finished writing Tarte to compliment them on it, it's amazing. I was on the hunt for a natural mascara, so I ordered this the day it went up on Sephora. I have tried every 'top' brand in Sephora, and most recently, I was uring Korres because it was natural. With the natural brands, I always felt like something was missing, I wanted long beautiful lashes without harsh chemicals, and I thought I would never find exactly what I was looking for. Until, of course, Lash Hugger. I love the packaging, the sleek recycled aluminum tube not only looks great; I know it will keep my mascara silky longer, not to mention the fact that it's more eco-friendly. My lashes are long, black, shiny, and for $18? you can't beat it. Lash Hugger is everything I wanted Fresh Supernova to be and more, for a lot less. I will repurchase the second I run out. I recommend this to anyone who has sensitive eyes, but still wants amazing lashes.

Mascara -Fresh - Supernova
rated 1 of 5
rachelalger 5/24/2008 8:53:00 PM

I was on the hunt for a new mascara after my beloved mascara began to flake and dry out far too quickly. The Sephora SA told me that Fresh's Supernova would be best for me, since I have sensitive eyes and love a long black lash; Once I saw the packaging, I headed straight for the checkout. However, when I used it for the first time, it smeared all under my eyes within an hour of applying it. I looked like someone had painted watercolors under my eyes! The worst part is that with the smudging/smearing.running comes irritation--I could not wait to take it off! For $25 I expect the best product available, this mascara is far from that. I will be taking it back to Sephora as soon as I get the chance. Please note that I do have oily lids, so it could have played a part in me hating Supernova, but I can tell you that I have never had any other mascara preform this poorly before.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 5/22/2008 7:12:00 PM

My new favorite blush! Posie tint is a warm creamy pink tint that lasts all day. I normally wear peachy colors, as most pinks just are not for me; this tint changed all that. I hope Benefit continues to make this forever, because it's perfect. It's creamy, bendable, and just bright enough. HG, i'm stocking up.

Lip Gloss -TheBalm - Water My Melon
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/14/2008 3:43:00 PM

First, I should say that I never have finished a tube of gloss. I end up going to lip balm over lip gloss again and again, because I feel like gloss is either too sticky or wears off too quickly. I bought this gloss on a whim, and I am so happy I did. I put it on at 8:45am, and it's after lunch, and I can still feel it on my lips (not as much as before of course, but I can feel that they are moist, and slippery from the gloss. Water My Melon is a sheer pink, and the shimmer is minimal which I love. I just but another tube from Sephora so that I never have to be without!

Eye Shadow -Tarte - Bathtub Gin
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/9/2008 3:32:00 PM

Bathtub gin is very sheer on my medium-yellow toned skin. At first, I wasn't a fan, I thought it was too sheer for my skin, and wasn't worth applying. The formula was so silky that I wanted to love it. I've noticed that the color really makes my eyelid an even tone. It keeps me looking fresh, and more awake. Though I love Tarte's other shades much more, I would recommend this to a fairer skinned person.

Lip Gloss -Tarte - Westley and Buttercup
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/9/2008 3:28:00 PM

I love this gloss. Anything Peachy always gets my attention, but the beauty in this gloss is that it's shear while still giving a peach 'glow'. One of the best glosses I have ever used!

Pressed Powders -TheBalm - Sexy Mama
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/8/2008 5:17:00 PM

I have hot mama, and thought I would try out sexy mama too. I have a pressed powder that I adore (Tarte, Pressed), so I didn't expect much. But, when I tried it on, I realized it serves a completely different purpose. It's translucent and soaks up any shine in an instant. I still use my Tarte powder, daily in fact, on top of my TM, but I will keep Sexy Mama in my purse for when I get shiny. Love it.

Bronzers -Tarte - Park Avenue Princess
rated 3 of 5
rachelalger 4/1/2008 8:04:00 PM

The first thing I thought of when I wore this bronzer was 'meh.' It's golden, and gorgeous in the compact, but on my medium-yellow toned skin, it just gave me a rather shiny look that I wasn't into. Not the best.

Blush -TheBalm - Hot Mama
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/1/2008 5:57:00 PM

I have been using Nars Gina forever, because I really love peachy blushes, but found the Orgasm to be a little gritty for my taste. When I heard about thebalm's hot mama, and felt how finely milled it was, I was drawn in. I tried in on in Sephora, and looked to my husband for his opinion, he started blushing, and told me that I looked like I had just left 'bed'. Which, is (obviously) the look the blush is going for. It's very sweet, yet sexy and truly gives you the look of pure elation. Hint: I love this so much; for evening I layer it on top of their Stainiac in Prom Queen. It's gorgeous.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/1/2008 5:50:00 PM

This is the most amazing mascara! Inky black, yet my lashes are like feathers, soft and supple. I never get 'sooty' eyes, or smearing, which is pretty amazing considering how sensitive my eyes are. The packaging has grown on me, though I thought it was a bit bulky at first. Finally, my search for the perfect mascara is over.

Pressed Powders -Tarte - All Pressed Powders [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 4/1/2008 5:46:00 PM

Simply the best pressed powder I have ever used! I was new to Tarte until recently; they had a 30% off sale that pulled me in. The powder is silky, the effect is matte without being chalky, and the compact is adorable. If anyone from Tarte reads this, I am so sorry that I drove you crazy with multiple orders, but I love your line, and this powder is by far my favorite.

Lips -TheBalm - Stainiac in Prom Queen
rated 5 of 5
rachelalger 3/31/2008 10:19:00 PM

I could write an entire letter to Marissa Shipman (founder of theBalm) on how much I love this stain; I figured the least I could do was write a review! I have tried Tarte cheek stains, and not been that impressed (I love Tarte, but the stains are overrated.) So, when I read the MUA reviews on Stainiac, I headed to Sephora to try it. I was sure I was going to love homecoming queen, as peach blushes are my favorite. I have medium skin with yellow undertones and found the homecoming queen to be too orange. I figured I should at least try the Prom Queen, but I was sure that it was going to be too pink. I have never been more wrong about a product! Prom Queen is a beautiful pink that (at my skin) has a peachy-pink quality. HG cheek stain for me. It perks up my entire face, glides on with ease, and gives you the type of glow you always hoped you had.
