I was breaking out but couldn't use benzyol peroxide anymore (allergic reaction occurred). I had bought this awhile back but forgot about it on the shelf. I read the reviews here and figured to try it, worse is that I would still have my breakouts. I read that with salicylic acid/willow bark takes awhile to work and that you would experience purging. And on the bottle it says to use it up to 4 weeks to see results. So the first couple of days I noticed I was getting more breakouts. The type you could feel but can't see (those were on the side of my cheeks). I had a whole bunch on my forehead which was obvious. I was freaking out. Usually I would stop a product because it wasn't working right away. This time I decided to stick with it and see if there were any results. I'm also using the Boots (Organic) night time moisturizer (the one that has rosemary in it) and also their day time moisturizer (Organic line too) with SPF 12, but I put on Clarins SPF 40 too. My prior breakouts might have been due to using moisturizers that were too heavy for my skin. So it clogged my pores. Slowly but surely the breakouts were going away. It wasn't overnight or 2 weeks. It's a little over a month now and I'm ecstatic that I stuck with it and not just jump to the next product. I have tons of skincare products which are only half used. I still get little pimples here and there but it is much better than before. This helps dries it out (it doesn't dry out my face though) and I can feel it when I'm washing my face. However, for the big red pimples I use this along with the Bye Bye Pimple (it has willow bark and sulfer). Just a dab of the BBP (it's pink but who cares) and the next AM, wow, it's smaller and not getting bigger.

Treatments -Skin effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover - Acne Spot Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I bought this by chance because I was looking for a BP 2.5%. Because I've visited the acne.org site and saw how the creator got rid of his acne by using this percentage but using alot. I go out to the drugstore and it's mostly 10%. I saw this and bought it home. It's a small tube and I think it's pricey for $9.99, wish it was bigger. I must say this BP does not dry out your skin like the others but also because it's 2.5%. When that time of the month comes I still get acne but this has helped with somewhat controlling it. It goes on smooth and not grainy like Neutrogena Spot Treatment. I'm on my 3rd tube and everytime I go to CVS it's usually the last one.

Tinted Moisturizer -Merle Norman - Luxiva Sheer Defense Tinted Moisturizer

I've used tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier but the things I didn't like was it made my face extremely oily (I have the oil-free) throughout the day. Also it feels thick and doesn't give a smooth application when applying to the skin. The color I had with LM was Real Sand and it was tad dark on me but I'm not one to go out and purchase another in order to mix it, too lazy. After reading reviews I decided to stop by MN to see and try this product. The sales rep suggested my color would be Nude. I asked her if this would turn orange on me and she said no. So she applied it to my face and it felt extremely smooth just like liquid foundation. It gave me a brighter look. I think she had said there were certain ingredients that enhances your skin tone. My skin isn't as oily as when using LM. She also said that this would go nice with their mineral powder, so she applied the powder (color is L60). At the moment I will say that I really like MN tinted moisturizer. I think she said there's SPF but it doesn't have talc in it. The colors that she matched with my skin tone looked good.

Styling Products -Sunsilk - De Frizz 24 7 Cream
rated 5 of 5

I have wavy hair and have spent lots of $ trying to find a product that assist with the frizz and moisturize. I saw this product at RiteAid on sale 2 for $6 which is inexpensive and figured I had nothing to lose. Next morning after washing my hair I apply this along with a bit of gel and mousse and let my hair air dry. All I can say is wow, it tamed the frizz and it makes my hair feel a bit soft. I color my hair alot so I'm not expecting instant moisture. But I'm glad that I tried this product. I love it and I bought 2 more bottles.

Treatments -DHC - Acne Spot Therapy
rated 5 of 5

I usually get the magazine for DHC and they always include samples of their products inside. I saw the sample for the Acne spot therapy and took it out and forgot about it. Saturday AM I could feel a pimple coming on my chin, the kind that hurts and takes long to go away. So I put everything (Queen Helen mint mask to spot treat, BP, Fix it (very pricey and small bottle for treating acne) lotion, DDF sulfur mask but as a spot treatment and gawd knows whatever) and it just made it worse. I figured I would have to call my Derm to come in for a cortisone shot to make this cyst go away. Monday AM I notice the DHC sample and figured I had nothing else to lose because the cyst was getting red and hurting alot. I was going to go into work and call the Derm office in the afternoon. So I get to work and open the small sample and squeeze a little bit of the lotion and massage it into the pimple. I swear to you by late afternoon they cyst pimple was not hurting anymore. I was surprised and put off calling the Derm office. So I was applying the spot treatment in the morning (over makeup), afternoon (over makeup) and night. The next day I woke up thinking it would be big and red but low and behold, no it wasn't. The cyst actually decreased in size I was so thrilled. So this is my 2nd day and have been applying the lotion throughout the day and the pimple is truly truly truly going down. I could not believe it. I am a believer of this product. I'm hoping the sample will last me until the end of the week because I'm definitely driving to the Japanese market to purchase this product. I'm so happy that I tried this and it actually worked for me. It did dried out my skin a little bit but nothing noticeable. I love this product!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Cyclic Nano Silver Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
qisme615 4/17/2007 12:12:00 AM

I had used this soap before to treat my hormonal breakout and it was working wonderfully. I noticed that it would encourage purging to some of my current pimple and bring it to head than I would extract it. Otherwise, it would of become a cyst. However, I read some concerns about collidal silver causing harm and may turn your skin grayish. So I stopped using it and put it back in the refrigerator. A month later my hormonal breakout came back and it was just horrible. I went to the doctor and she prescribed Benzaclin. The first week using this medicine, it worked but later on it made my skin so dry, tight and it felt rough. I applied the medicine for 3 weeks but I just couldn't take it anymore. I stopped for 3 days than remember that I still had the soap. I took it out and applied the cleanser and washed it off. It's my 4th day and my skin is starting to look good again. Good as in the bumps are slowly going down. The cystic pimps are drying up and my face is less oily. After rinsing the cleanser off, the pros: my skin looks bright, feels clean; cons: a little dry in my chin area (but I get that with all of the cleasner I have used), a little tight (nothing bad, it goes away). I wait for 30 minutes so that the ph level of my skin returns to normal and than apply moisturizer. At the moment I am only using this at night because I want to use the Clarisonic facial brush in the AM with a gentle cleanser. Once I am able to see that my breakout have been controlled, I will definitely get the Pink soap since many people have raved about it too.
