Blush -E.L.F. - Shy
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:40:00 AM
I tend to spend more on cosmetics and skin care but I still use this occasionally when I want a more natural look cause this does not have sparkles in it (as with all cheaper blushers) and it's so cheap! However, I am not complaining because th colour is really quite nice and lasts quite long. The only thing that I'm not to crazy about is that if you swirl your brush too much and dust the excess off it still goes on too dark. I would say that a little goes a long way for this blush.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Essential Eye Widener
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:33:00 AM
To put it simply, this product is crap. At least for me it is. For US$1 I wasn't expecting much but this does not get on my eye at all. Even after sharpening and tugging at my eye it does not go on period. I don't even have oily lids. That being said, I can't comment on whether it does widen the eyes. I won't buy it again even if it was going for $0.10.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Blush Brush
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:28:00 AM
This brush is really cheap so I can't really complain (same with the Total Face Brush). However, this brush is a lot more scratchy than the Total Face Brush and loses it's shape really easily and sheds just a little. However, as I've mentioned in the other review I tend to splurge more on skin care and cosmetics I kind of gloss over brushes so I do continue using this. But if I had more money to blow (I am still living off my parents), I would get better quality brushes. Until then, I would repurchase

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Total Face Brush
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:21:00 AM
For US$1 for 1 brush you really can't be complaining about it much cause it's really cheap compared to so many other brands out there! The bristles are quite smooth and I used this mainly for loose powder and occasionally blusher (when I can't locate my blusher brush haha) and the powder goes on smoothly. Also, this brush does not shed whatsoever so I'm pretty impressed by the quality. I tend to spend more on quality skin care and makeup so I get cheaper tools to use haha. So, I haven't actually tried more expensive high end makeup brushes (eg MAC, Bobbi Brown etc) so I can't really compare them but for the price, it's really worth it and I would repurchase.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Hypershine Gloss - ALL
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:16:00 AM
I bought the set which came with 7/8 of these glosses and I ended up selling them all away online because I didn't like the texture at all! It was too sticky and the smell was too overpowering for me. It made my lips feel really plastic and looks really odd as well. However, I know people who've said this is great and they love it for the value-for-money-ness of this. But I am really picky for texture and taste and quality of glosses so I don't mind dishing out for really high end ones as long as I like it so I'm not the biggest fan of this gloss. If you're drawn to buying it cause it's cheap I would suggest to buy 1 to try it first if not you might live to regret buying the whole set and not being able to get rid of it.

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Mechanical Eyelash Curler
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:11:00 AM
It's generally an okay curler for the price but I have now moved onto shu umera. For this price, there's really not much you can complain about! However, the curls do not hold (for me at least even after mascara) and it looks a little un-natural. When I do run short of funds, I would buy this over other more expensive brands cause it does an okay job.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
qiannn 4/21/2008 3:02:00 AM
I have been using this cleanser for years since I was younger and I love it. I have strayed a couple of times but I always come back to this. It's very gentle for my sensitive skin and is not drying at all. No breakouts whatsoever while using this. However, sometimes I do feel that it doesn't clean off all the dirt (might be hallucinations) but after sports or being under the sun for a really long time and having a really oily and sweaty face, I would use a normal foaming cleanser as I feel it is cleaner. My mom and sister also all use this product and it works for us all no matter what skin type and age. My mom's almost 50 and my sister's 16 with normal skin with occasional acne. We all love it and it was introduced to us by my mom's dermatologist.

Treatments -SKII - whitening source dermdefinition
qiannn 4/21/2008 2:31:00 AM
I pinched this off my mom cause I was starting to get some freckles due to the fact I didn't always use to use sunscreen. I heard SK2 products are more suited for mature skin but I used it to get rid of the freckles before they got worse. And this really works! I only needed to use this 1 time and the next day the freckles were virtually invisible!! However, I only applied this to the trouble spots and now that patch is lighter than the rest of my face. Which is why I only gave it 3 lippies. I don't know if it's supposed to be used on the rest of the face and I didn't try cause I have sensitive skin but I did not break me out on the cheeks where I used it. If you have the budget this is a good product because I haven't heard or used anything else which has such good results

Masks -Kose - Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask
qiannn 4/21/2008 2:22:00 AM
I got this a birthday gift from my bestfriend (along with other things) and what shocked me at first was that it was black. However, when I used it (and I still do) it always left my skin very smooth after peeling off. It even lightens acne scars (because I have a habit of picking at my pimples and black heads etc which is a terrible habit I know). 1 lippie off because it HURTS really badly when I peel it off. I use it once every week and have been doing so since feb and I still think it hurts. In fact it seems to get more painful. Also, I don't know if frequent use of this will "losen" the skin and make it sag but since it works I will over look this doubt of mine haha. I will be repurchasing this over this weekend because I am running out and those with scars or uneven skin tone should definately try this out (unless you have super sensitive skin or have no tolerance for pain)

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream
qiannn 4/21/2008 2:10:00 AM
I love this scrub! I first got this as a GWP and wasn't expecting much from it. However, it really makes me skin feel cleaner, smoother and does not strip the skin of moisture!!! I used to have a lot of clogged pores, white heads and black heads around the nose region but since I've started on this, they have reduced in amount drastically. I took 1 lippie off cause if I forget to use it once a week, the problems start returning. But still a very good scrub which I will not hesitate to repurchase.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
qiannn 4/21/2008 2:01:00 AM
I've heard raves on the 3-step system but I am not impressed. You can get better for a lot cheaper. I only use this now when I have terrible breakouts cause the toner somehow helps to get rid of my pimples. However, I would not repurchase

Sunscreen -Clinique - Super City Block SPF 40
qiannn 4/21/2008 1:57:00 AM
I have combination (oily t-zone and dry in other areas) and sensitive skin and this sun block does not break me out at all. Although the colour looks a bit too dark for some people, it goes on really well on the skin and cannot be seen. There is also no white cast which I really like. This can be used as a makeup primer as well though I think it's better just as a sunscreen cause it takes a little while to be absorbed so you can't apply your makeup right away or it might not stay so well. But once it's absorbed, makeup glides on fine. It also leaves skin soft and moist (at least for me) Like all sunblocks/sunscreens it should be removed with a makeup remover cause I think normal facial cleansers can't remove this totally and might cause breakouts. I have to admit though that I have slept without removing this properly (disgusting I know) but I did not suffer any breakouts. I would purchase again (and I already have a few times)
