Eyeliner -Laura Mercier - Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony
rated 4 of 5

I LOVE this product! I have been a long time fan of the tight lining technique but this cake has, indeed, taken the cake. I get fantastic coverage after I tight line and I virtually have no gap between my eyeliner now. I love the way it looks. I have never used this alone as my sole eyeliner, but I bet it's awesome. I haven't been able to find the activator at any sephora.. And I'm sad about that because I think it would solve all the problems I have with this. The only issue I have is that I have ver sensitive eyes and they are watery, and frequently after tight line the color will run a bit and stain my bottom lash line and that stinks a bit. I have been using eye drop solution to activate the cake and it works pretty fine and dandy. I didn't buy the special brush, I just use any old angled brush and it works just find. I've also used the Mac 110 fine eyeliner brush with it and it also works fine. Again, I love this and will continue to buy it in the future.

Eyeliner -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
purplepan 1/30/2012 4:57:00 PM

I love this eyeliner. It is my favorite liquid eyeliner and it is very versatile. With the pen you get a lot of control and the pointed tip allows me to line my eyes as bold of as fine as I would like. Also the point allows me to make perfect winged tips. It makes really crisp, clean lines. I have found that this eyeliner has pretty good staying powe relative to many other liquid eyeliners that I have used, however I have very watery eyes and the corners of my eyes still wash out some of the liner. I can't really complain because I don't thnk there is anything I can do about it. But when i used an eye primer first, info find that it stays even better. Anyways, I would buy this product again a thousand times over!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - 5 Camouflage Cream Palette
rated 4 of 5
purplepan 1/30/2012 4:48:00 PM

I really like this set. I have palette #1 and #2. I don't find that this product looks cakey and I get superb coverage from it. I'm not sure why people are having trouble with this product. It's one of the best concealers I've used and I have notoriously difficult skin. I have very very dry skin and very aggressive eczema. And when I say that I mean even my dermatologist doesn't know how to approach it and I rarely find anyone else whose skin looks like mine. That being said, the green covers my facial eczema redness very nicely. I even use it to cover large areas on both my cheeks where I have the most redness and I don't see any caking. I also love the purple highlight color, it works fantastic on the bridge of my nose and on my cheek bones to highlight and accentuate. This palette also does a fantastic job if covering my dark eye circles, and they are very bad. I've had a terrible sleep schedule since high school because I very often pulled all-nighters to study and my dark circles are terrible. I've had people refer to them as panda eyes and raccoon eyes before as well as people asking me if I have black eye makeup on... Yeah, apparently it's just that tragic. Haha And on top of all of that, this does a great job of covering blemishes. I have a lot of allergy scarring and hyperpigmentation on my face and it covers fantastic. I highly, highly recommend.

Highlighters -NARS - Orgasm Illuminator
rated 4 of 5
purplepan 1/30/2012 4:31:00 PM

Love, love, love this product! I have been a long time fan of Nars and the orgasm line. I have the blush, the multi-stick, and laguna bronzer, and now this. I have used a plethora of high end, low end and everything in between makeup but I love this illuminator. I have really really dry skin. And by that I mean I've rarely encountered skin even close to mine in my 24 years of life, yet this illuminator is smooth , blends well with finger tips, doesn't cake in or make my skin dry, and it doesn't irritate my aggressive eczema. Besides that, this color and illumination is gorgeous. I saw it at Sephora and couldn't help myself. Definitely, definitely buy again.

Hair Removal -Olay - Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo
rated 2 of 5
purplepan 1/30/2012 4:21:00 PM

I don't know what to say about this product. I used it once and it worked okay. I didn't really get the results I wanted and I was still left with tiny stubble. The second time I used this I got chemical burned and it was terrible. I have very very sensitive skin and I am very careful about who goes on it. I am allergic to some important ingredients and I always check for them before purchasing an item. This didn't have it and I've used it before so I don't know why this happened. I used the pre-removal cream and only used the hair remover on my upper lip and I did not exceed the instructed time limit. I was left with 3 dime sized burns; 2 on my left side, and 1 on the right. The worst part about this experience is that it didn't even remove all the hair... And I have very thin, fine and actually, pretty minimal, body hair, but it managed to burn away my skin. Thanks Olay. I'm really disappointed by this.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Airflash
rated 2 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:42:00 PM

This product just didn't work for me. No matter how I sprayed it on it always looked like Zorro marked me across the face with foundation. The spray lines were always too defined and after a while the bottle stopped spraying a mist and started sputtering.

Masks -Boscia - Luminizing Black Mask
rated 3 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:37:00 PM

This is an OK product and that's about it. It never peels off entirely or as one whole piece and I end up spending more time scrubbing my face afterwards to prevent looking like I have a 5 o'clock shadow than actually being pleased with the product. my face ends up more irritated because I can never actually peel this mask off. It breaks apart in little pieces like I melted a trash bag on my face. I just don't think it's as great as it seems. Although I must admit that it is very fun to draw mustaches and sideburns with this before covering my face. :D

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:33:00 PM

I like Burt's Bees. I like the minty tingle but sometimes it's just too much for me and it smells a little medicinal. It's works great and it's especially great for chapped lips. In fact I'm pretty sure my sister would take a bullet for this lip balm, it's just not always for me.

Moisturizers -Kate Somerville - Deep Tissue Repair with Peptide K8
rated 1 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:23:00 PM

This product, first and foremost, is ridiculously expensive. I don't know how Kate Summerville is facialist to the stars because this product really didn't do anything for me. Probably because celebrities already have perfect skin. I have very sensitive dry eczema skin and I figured that since this deep tissue repair cream was designed to promote new growth to repair damaged skin cells that this would be perfect for me. I like the push pump as it is hygienic but this product is absolutely not worth the money. The sheer volume to dollar ratio is out of control here and for my skin this didn't do nearly enough for me. For the price Kate Summerville needs to be marketing miracles in a bottle. I could dish out less than $10 for Cetaphil at the pharmacy and receive better skin care, protection, and nourishment for my skin than this product provided.

Lotions/ Creams -DERMAdoctor - KP Duty
rated 2 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:17:00 PM

I have very sensitive very dry eczema skin. Maybe my skin is just worse than everyone elses but this product was terrible for me. It does moisturize but it burned like all hell when I put it on, which really doesn't help my already irritated skin. I avoided putting this on at all costs... I even gave it to my sister who has normal, even oily prone skin, and she still said that it burned when she put it on. I will never never buy this again... especially not for the price.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 2 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:14:00 PM

I'm not sure how so many reviewers who claim to have dry skin are saying this works great.. I know there is almost a cult following for this product but it really sucked for me. I have very dry eczema skin and all this does is sit in the cracks of my skin and accent how dry it really is. I'm really better off layering makeup because it doesn't settle into my skin as much as this does.

Lip Treatments -Laura Mercier - lip balm spf 15
rated 4 of 5
purplepan 7/13/2011 6:11:00 PM

I love this product. It gives a great shine, it's moisturizing and makes my lips smooth. Unlike most of the reviewers, I actually find the sweet smell to be a bit too much. I don't really like how candy-like it smells, it almost smells too childish for me like cotton candy chapstick from my childhood.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
rated 5 of 5

Admired this color for a while. I finally found a great deal on ebay and loved it. It's versatile and clean. Only complaint is that it seemed to get gunky pretty quickly. This could be my fault though.

Love it! It allows me to make dips, points, flips, etc with such ease. In conjunction with fluidline, this is a knock out product.
