Foundations -Prescriptives - Custom Blend [DISCONTINUED]

After seeing some ghastly party pictures of myself with the "foundation mask", I decided that if I was going to splurge on makeup, it should definitely be for foundation. I accidently came upon Prescriptives one day while wandering in Holt Renfrew. I can honestly say this is my best investment ever. The lady at the counter helped me mix the perfect colour and the perfect consistency (I wanted it a bit sheerer because I hate feeling like I'm wearing makeup). My skin has stange undertones and they matched it so well. For $150 (CAD), I received foundation, concealer, two great brushes, a sample of lotion, and a travel size foundation. A tad expensive (and I'd rather there be a pump for the foundation), but completely worth it because I'm 100% confident in my skin. As a note, you probably should go to a higher end department store to get this done. Its the same price, but they take their time in mixing and trying different shades.

Treatments -Clairol - Natural Instincts Shine Happy clear shine treatment

It seems like a lot of people have had bad experiences with this product, so I thought I might throw in my review because I really like this stuff. I'm asian and my natural hair colour is a dark brown. After using this, my hair felt kind of weird and I didn't see any difference. However, after a couple of weeks, I started getting compliments on how my hair was so shiney. I think it just takes some time to work. Yes, it does lighten up your hair a bit, so I think that it probably works the best on hair that has not been dyed. For this price, its a steal. I use it every 2 months and I love the results!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact

Generally, I don't use CG products because my skin is very sensitive but this mascara was AMAZING. I actually really like the brush because it gives you a better application. I can see this working well as a daily mascara but I wouldn't recommend it for people who want a more dramatic look.
