Treatments -Umberto Giannini - Collagen Pre-Shampoo Treatment
purepink 11/7/2010 3:03:00 PM
I got this free with the purchase of my HG Umberto Dry Shampoo. i have bleached and highlighted hair that has been lacking shine and softness. ive been using this treatment once a week for the past month, and im pretty impressed. Flyaways and frizz are almost gone, and my hair feels bouncy and soft with a nice sheen to my blonde. i was worried that this might leave my hair oily and limp, even with washing it out. fortunatly that is not the case. the product itsself is awesome. however im not a fan of the packaging. it says to saturate hair and leave for 10min before washing, but the pump nozzle does not give enough product when pumped, unless i pump the bottle like 8 times for one portion of my hair. i do not have thick hair by anymeans, and i still feel i have to use quite a bit of this product for one treatment. using this once a week, i have maybe 5.5 applications in the bottle. will repurchase if it is still with the BOGO, or if i feel my hair is loosing lustre again. overall, i was pleasantly surprised and it has made a difference in my hair.

Masks -Freeman - Feeling Beautiful - Facial CLAY MASK Avocado & Oatmeal
purepink 8/15/2010 4:02:00 AM
Yes! I would absolutely buy this product again! about 4 or so years ago, i had a nasy continuing breakout that Queen helens clay mask 3x a week cleared up beautifuly. after finishing my first tube, i did not repurchase (i dont know why).... remembering this, and being a fan of lush products, i purchased crash course clay & avacado mask. it did nothing good (pointless) but nothing bad (thankgod). This brings me to my current situation, a life change that has caused massive stress which has taken a toll on my skin= really bad stress induced breakout. i went looking for queen helens mint mask at target and rite aid and could not find it. i loved freemans pineapple mask (started using aqua glycolic line with much higher aha % so pineapple became less effective thus, discontinued use) Ive been using this mask 3x a week for the past 2 weeks and it has done miracles on my face. i have oily skin that is used to 15% glycolic acid so i have almost no stinging. maybe a little around by nose i discoverd after first use, do not put it there anymore. leaves my pores clean, my skin a bit tighter and a LOT softer. face looks clearer/whiter? and texture is improving. for the first time all summer, my continuous breakout has halted. nothing new since ive started this (along with a no alcohol added BHA cleanser). this does not dry my face out. and the extremely low price is going to be hard to beat. so long story short, my skin tolerates this well and seems to love the active ingrediants. will update if things change

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Green Tea tea-bag toner
purepink 6/24/2010 3:46:00 PM
this is one of those gems you just stummble across on makeupalley, and it truly changes your life! i swapped out my usual morning coffee with green tea about 2 weeks ago for antioxidant purposes, as well as the metabolism boosting (since i have been on an diet and exercise plan) coffee was also making me crash badly and i became sensitive and extremely irritable by the evening. drinking green tea has dramaticaly improved my mood, energy, and sugar cravings since i have switched. i also sometimes half it with white tea. i was without a toner in my skin care regimen and saw this had awesome reviews, so i decided to try it out (i use Aqua glycolic line, and have not been using the toner, since i have to wait for it to be ordered through my pharmacy, and have yet to do that =/ ) as i boil water for my tea, i set aside a seperate glass with its own teabag for toner. pour this first, let it sit, then pop it in the fridge to cool down. I like my toner cool/cold, it feels refreshing, and tightens my pores slightly more than warm. having it cold also reminds me of the 'putting an icecube on a zit to take down swelling and redness' theory. this really has been awesome for my face. it has reduced overall redness and much more even skin tone, brought down swelling of a couple of recent blemishes each time i use it, skin is firmer, pores look smaller (which is probably a combo of the glycolic acid clearing them, and the toners overall tightening of my skin, pores dont actualy shrink). its reassuring to know, im putting something on my skin, that has so many anti oxidant and fighting free radical properties (not sure if it actualy helps this way topicaly, but i am also drinking it a ton) and is natural. i am most excited about the cut in my oil production it has made. i did not use this intentionaly for this purpose, yet excess oil is one of my biggest issues. i had acutaly a couple days before trying the green tea as toner ordered a prescription sulfur based loition from my derm to reduce my oil. it really has become a bigger problem now that its summer. yet i havent pick up my rx, because i dont really need it! i understand i am probably in the honeymoon phase of this, but either way, how my skin is looking is phenominal, because its rare if i find a product that i use that continualy works without causing issues. so, i am prepared that this may work topically only for a while so i will pick up my sulfer cream, and order my aqua glycolic toner to have in case this happens. i will still keep drinking green tea no matter what tho. will obviously have to update

purepink 6/20/2010 10:25:00 PM
used these consistantly on my slightly dingy coffee abused teeth. they worked wonderfully! i noticed effects starting around the 3rd day of use, twice a day. a few days later i started getting comments/and compliments from friends and strangers. i heard a lot of, "wow! i didnt realize how white and beautiful your teeth are! did you ever have braces?" granted, i was blessed with straight teeth (which is odd, because BOTH my parents have always had teeth issues which have caused them to have to do several things and still they have problems) because my teeth are one of very few things i dont have body/face issues with, i never really did much to enhance them. i did the strips and they brightened my smile a ton! i was extremely happy. ****well, several months and too many coffees later, i noticed some plaque build up between a couple of my front teeth (sorry, not an avid flosser i must admit.. i do try tho!). it was more noticeable considering the surface of my teeth were much whiter from the strips, and the strips can sometimes miss inbetween teeth anyways. i found about 5 random strips i missed under my sink, and i decided to just cut little strips off one of them and place it carefully only inbetween my teeth where the yellow and plaque had built up. i put the remaining of the strip back into the wrapper and sealed it shut. ive been doing this twice a day for a few days now, and its working awesome! i get way more uses from just one strip (does not matter top or bottom. just cut a little strip as needed off the edge). i have 4 more uses from this strip, and i still have 3 more! i have also just become extremely diligent about my flossing, and have also everyother day been using the baking soda hydrogen peroxide combination to clean and whiten. i will only be doing the strips and Hydro/soda combo for maybe another week. 2 weeks total, because i definitly dont want to wear down my enamal. hope this was helpful!****

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - High Resolution Eye - Refill 3X
purepink 6/17/2010 9:07:00 PM
recieved this as a GWP and i actually really like it. ive tried a few eye creams in the past few years, mostly for preventative purposes and to moisturize in the evenings. i dont really have fine lines yet, but i do have a bit of dark circles which i understand can only be really fixed by sleep, a change of genetics(wouldnt that be nice!) and/or concealor. but this HAS infact diminished my shadows a significant amount. which is hilarious, cuz it was a fluke that i was even trying it out in the first place. as well as brightening my undereyes up, it really smoothes out the area well enough for any/if use of concealor there, without it settleing into creases. not sure if i will repurchase. i guess ill see when i run out, how much i really need it.

Cleansers -Aqua Glycolic - Facial Cleanser
purepink 6/1/2010 8:39:00 PM
Update: ive been using this cleanser along with the toner and switch between the face cream, and a vitamin E cream for the past few months now. i still absolutely love this line. however, it really has not done much to control my breakouts. i did not get it for that purpose tho. i got it to brighten my skin and fade hyperpigmentation, which it has done an AMAZING job. not even long term use of tazorac evened my skintone to this extent. it is helping by fading post breakout marks quicker than normal. no redness or dullness to my skin. i do have my breakouts that im dealing with, but instead of one pimple causing my whole cheek or surrounding are to be pink and irritated, its just one dot on my face. the surrounding skin is near perfect. going to derm this week for antibiotics. origianl post: WOW! awesome stuff! ive been suffering from on and off again acne for almost an entire decade. I recently completed a course of accutane, which stopped the breakouts in their tracks, cleared up my complexion quite a bit, and dimished my oil production. but several months after finishing my course, i started noticing my skin becoming dull, oil production increasing and my skin was beginning to become a bit of a problem again. I had also became extremely concerned about hyperpigmantation and lingering red marks. manuel exfoliants never did a thing for me, except irritate my skin more. several clogged pores later and a few occasional mini breakouts, i was getting pretty bummed out again about my skin, and just didnt know what to do next. short of another course of accutane. i had heard around that glycolic acid was helpful to some, on preventing acne, aswell as a total skin renewer. so at the pharmacy picking up an unrelated Rx, i just happend to grab this cleanser and the face cream. this was a little over two weeks ago, and my skins clairity and glow has just taken me by complete surprise! i was extremely excited about the quickness of results, with the gentleness of the product! cannot wait to continue and see how my skin looks after finishing my first bottle! have also used recently as a shaving cream in conjunction with the moisturizer afterwards, to eliminate razor bumps. this has also worked fabulous in that department too! with very little sensitivity. just picked up the hand and body lotion today, and will use for a bit before i review that. awesome awesome awesome!

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Accutane (by prescription)
purepink 4/3/2010 5:35:00 PM
A friggin miracle! ive been suffering from acne from 12 years old up until my accutane course this year at age 22. a decade of hell. my skin was so terrible, i couldnt focus on anything, and my skin ruled my life. i did 40mg a day for 4months. Accutane saved me. I lucked out majorly, not only with the results but with the course itself. i didnt have a flair up during my treatment, no nosebleeds, no joint aches, no depression, just the typical dry as hell lips and nose. oh and of course, the gradual clearing of my skin. accutane did not make my skin worse before it got better. it just got better the first week on, and now i am almost 6 months done with my course, and couldnt be happier! i also want to give credit to doing doxycyline for a few months right before my treatment, i think that alleviated the initial breakout some people have; or not. who knows, lol? as of late, my skin has been getting better and better. i have the occasional pimple/clogged pore( if you can call it that) that goes away quickly. but any red hyperpigmantation from breakouts long ago are fading away every week. my oil production is down, and my lips back to normal. the texture and overall tone of my skin is the best its looked in ages ( i give thanks to either aha or light use of tazorac for the tone and brightness) if i need to do it again, i absolutely would. in a snap. but i would probably do a few months of bactrim first, which is a step down from accutane, and helped my skin a ton also(but not as long term of effects)

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Fragrance Anthology L'Imperatrice

This did not work for/on me whatsoever. I bought this 5 days ago, and just returned it today. i wanted to splurge and buy a great perfume, and went sniffing around at ulta. i remember smelling this in a magazine, and falling head over heels for it. Smelling it again in the store i thought "ohmygod, this is the best smelling thing in the WORLD. i must have it!" i used it very sparingly the past few days, and thought "eh, maybe im just not used to it yet..." and then this morning, after my shower (and i used pretty much unscented products today) and i couldnt believe that about 5 min after spraying it on I reeked of B.O. something about this particluar fragrance and my body chemistry made for a awful smell =( im bummed this didnt work, because in the bottle it is heavenly. and the search continues

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
purepink 2/19/2010 7:00:00 PM
loved this product at first. raved about it to everyone. but sadly within the past 2 weeks, im just not feeling the love anymore...=( i love the slight shimmer, makes my skin absolutely glow w/o being sparkly. consistancy was pretty good, a little sheer but still covered. im bummed about its staying power lately and most especialy the crazy orange oxidazation that happened! ive had it for like 2 months and when i first got it, it was an almost perfect perfect match.. but now, its waaay too orange and yellow, and i look jaunidiced. ew. i have this in shell btw. so, thank god im getting a pretty heavy check coming my way soon, so im going to invest in a better foundation... still looking for my HG. UPDATE: bought another bottle, i acutaly still really liked this. i guess i'll just have to see if this bottle oxidized as badly and quickly as the last. hope it dosent, because the shade and consistancy is perfect, and exactly what ive been looking for!

Palettes -Too Faced - The Hopeless Romantic Quickie Chronicle
purepink 11/26/2008 4:21:00 AM
I LOVE the blushes in this, as well as the eyeshadows. the glosses, are a tad sticky and thick, but more pigmented then i would have thought. have not tried the bronzer, but apparently by the reviews, i probably shouldnt =/ . I dont normaly need highlighter because i have excessivly oily skin, and i say 'no thank you' to more shine, so im not gonna comment on that one. But the reality is, i got this Quickie at Nordstrom Rack for 12 Freakin dollars!! which is kinda obscenely cheap. so i think that alone deserves, the 4 stars.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush
purepink 4/30/2008 4:15:00 PM
this brush is all sorts of amazing! it really makes your foundation go so much further for your money! it helps you get awsome coverage where you need it! and light where you dont. after using this, i will never go back to my kabuki brush(maybe just for the finishing dusts) because with the kabuki, i feel im wasting my make up because my makeup just kinda sits like a dusting of powder on my facle, and dosnt really do its job as foundation. awsome idea, and even better follow through.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - waffle cone
purepink 3/13/2008 2:42:00 PM
EDIT 2: tried this again, and fell back in love with it! i bought a new blush brush and tried it out with this. the brush helped tremendously. i was having issues for awhile on it looking splotchy but problem fixed! =) thank god, because i just loooveee this color soo much! i wear it everyday! gives me a nice subtle bronze/ pink flush with a dash of deweyness from the light shimmer. i have fairly light skin, so the color payoff on me is very good EDIT: tried to wear this the other day.. and 'meh'...it looked a little blotchy and dirty. maybe its because its winter and i have a lack of any color whatsoever on my face, or my new blush brush. but i think i change my mind. ORIGINAL REVIEW:beautiful beautiful beautiful! got this as a sample because of the online reviews. must buy it in full container, because i see myself using this everyday of summer! normaly any sort of tan blushes turn orange on me by afternoon(and i hate orange and coral looks awful on me). but because of the slight pink in it, it just looks natural and makes me unbelievably happy =)

Liquid -Prescriptives - Virtual Matte
purepink 3/13/2008 2:37:00 PM
I really dont know what to think about this foundation, and im glad that i waited so long to review it. because at fifrst i love love loved this, but as the weeks went by, i found my self reaching yet again for my everyday minerals... The PROS: awesome coverage. and easily blendable and buildable. (tho i must have it sit for quite a bit before it melts with my skin and looks natural) CONS: i know Px is known for their color ranges, but i think that i might be between two. becuase this is a little to pinky for me. at first i thought it was perfect, but now, im a little dissapointed i shelled out the cash for a not exact match(especialy at the colour matching experts) it has also stopped keeping me as matte as the first week i used it. now it is just a normal heavy coverage foundation. nothing too special for me, might as well as got it at target =/ but honestly im mostly bummed out about the colour...thats my biggest gripe. EDIT funny thing is, now that im running out and only have a couple days of this left, i am loving this again! i think i might have gotten a little bit of sun these past few weeks that has this color perfect for my skin right now! im so bummed out i dont have any left! will repurchase soon.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Hard as Wraps - Acrylic Gel
purepink 1/31/2008 1:33:00 AM
So, i bought this top/base coat with the same hopes and dreams as everyother review on here (ive read them all). i have only applied this once and a few hours ago, so obviously will edit later with my conclusion. Fist off, a lot of issues i have read has been with the application of the product. i have not had any problems...so far. Was not stringy, but gel like, reminisant of the gel they used in real acrylic nails, but a lot thinner. Did not make bubbles, might be the colors that have this unwanted effect(i have the clear/rosey top/basecoat). also it has yet to peel off. other than literaly painting it on,which again reminds me of the acrylic, it reminds me of any other clear coat =/ by the way, my nails have been chipping and peeling off like crazy the past month or so. its been driving me nuts! that was the reason for this purchase, to keep my damn nails together! :) what im really wanting is a few extra days of a full coat than my opi fastdrying topcoat is giving me now. my nails need some friggin protection! update: bubbles too much. nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a decent coat.
