Eye Shadow -NYX - Iced Mocha
puppyluv2620 6/17/2010 6:08:00 PM
this was my very first eyeshadow from nyx and i must say i have been very pleasently surprised. patina is my all time favorite mac eyeshadow and this is like a darker more pigmented version of that color in my opinion. patina probably has more gold in it than iced mocha though. the texture is amazingly soft and its very easy to blend. i use a primer to increase the staying power and i haven't had any problems with this creasing on me. i use it all over the lid for a brown smokey look and i have also used it in the crease with a lighter color on the lid for a lighter day look. the only real complaint i have is the packaging. i had the e/s for about 4 hours and i hadn't dropped it or anything and when i went to pick it up the e/s pan was coming unglued from the pot it sat in. this could have obviously been due to a number of things nyx had no control over (shipping, people touching it and dropping it in the store, etc) and it doesnt affect the quality of the eyeshadow in any way so i'm still rating it a 5. overally i feel the quality of this shadow is extremely good for the price. i think i got mine for like $3 and it was buy one get one half off so very affordable and excellent quality. i would def repurchase and i'm going to look into trying out more nyx shades.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
puppyluv2620 5/3/2010 4:01:00 PM
the first day i tried this i HATED it. i contemplated taking it back several times but decided to just keep on trying it because a lot of people seem to love it. i used it every day for about a month now and its okay. for me it gives length over volume but i prefer volume. i have a lot of drug store mascaras that work better for me honestly. if you are looking for length this would probably be a good mascara for you. it is really wet in the beginning so i had to clean the end of the brush off before i applied or it would clump like crazy. after it dries out a little bit its actually a decent masacara but again did not give enough volume for me. i didnt have any problems with it flaking but i usually dont have that problem with mascara. so yeah all in all its just okay. i wouldnt repurchase or recommend this but i do see how some people could really like it for the length it gives.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Kalahari Duo
puppyluv2620 3/11/2010 3:09:00 PM
another great duo by nars. the colors are very pigmented and show up nicely on me (nw20 for referece). some people have said the colors don't go together and i have to disagree. i use the light golden bronzy color on the lid and then the darker on in the crease and it looks great. the darker color could be a little more pigmented becuase i find myself having to darken up the crease wtih a darker color but its still so pretty. they apply really easily and i've never had problems blending them. yes they are neutral colors and nothing exciting looking but speaking from someone who loves neutrals this is one of my have to have duos by nars and i would repurchase. great for everyday looks!

Concealers -Urban Decay - 24/7 Concealer in FBI
puppyluv2620 3/8/2010 12:13:00 AM
i really like this concealer. i know its annoying when people dont list their shades in reviews but i've had this so long i think mine has rubbed off and i just cant remember but its one shade too light for me. none the less i still love this. i dont use it for blemishes as i have found it can be too cakey. i use this udner my eyes and it covers my dark circles very nicely. i dont consdier it a HG product because i dont grab for it very often. i generally use this at night if i'm going out becuase i trust this to stay put all night long. personally i think its too heavy for me during day time. i will repurchase this when i run out in a color better suited for my skin tone.

Lip Liners -MAC - Naked Liner
puppyluv2620 3/6/2010 7:58:00 PM
first off i'm no expert on lip liners. i hardly ever wear them but i've tried several. i have been wanting a nude lip liner for a long time but i've just never picked one up so when mac had some new ones out i thought ok why not. i must say this one is very nice. it was so easy to apply and its creamy but not too creamy, just a soft lip liner. i have durbish from mac and i think these new ones from too fabulous collection are formulated differently because with durbish i felt like if i didnt dull the tip down it would just scrap across my lip but this one glided on with no problems. like i said i'm not expert but this was super easy for me to use, creamy, and i haven't noticed it bleeding or anything. i was worried about it bleeding since it was so creamy but it hasnt at all. i hate that mac has to make these LE because i feel like if you find a good lip liner it would probably be a HG product so i'm at least getting one back up. these are def worth checking out especailly if you wear lip liners a lot

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Orgasm
puppyluv2620 2/25/2010 7:07:00 PM
i've read a lot of these reviews about this not being pigmented and i disagree. yes the color is sheer but i think that is how it is suppose to be. plus it is buildable. i'm nw20 in mac and i can make this look very pigmented on me so much in fact that i find myself having to blend it out wherein lies my problem with this product. i have tried every kind of application and i find that when it starts to look like too much and i go to blend it out it takes my foundation with it. i've used all kinds of cream blushes and i have never had this problem. therefore i dont think this is very good used alone as a blush color. maybe it would be good underneath one or on top as a highlight however i just dont like the look of a peachy pink highlight. i didnt find the texture greasy at all its just not as creamy as i thought it was going to be. it is not worth the money at all in my opinion. there are so many better prodcuts and probably better multiples. i dont like the packaging because when i go to roll mine up or down it gets stuck and i have to push it back down into the container. i'm very disappointed beccause i so wanted to love this because the color is gorgeous and if i could ever find a good way of applying it i would love it but for now i just cant and i would not repurchase even though i'm pretty sure i want to love this so badly i'll use the whole thing up trying to find ways to make this work for me.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #213 Fluff Brush
puppyluv2620 2/20/2010 3:35:00 PM
overall i feel like this brush is really under-rated. i think its an awesome brush! i particuarly like this for packing on eyeshadows. the 239 does pack on the color thicker (not sure if that is the right word for it) but the 213 is really good at placing and then blending out harsh lines like into the crease. i'm not saying this is a good crease brush because it isnt but once you place your lid color its good to just take this one and smooth out the edges. i tend to reach for this more than my 239 just because i find it easier to work with. if you have sigma brushes and you prefer the ss 239 to the mac one then i think this is a good brush to check out because they basically do the same job. the 213 is just smaller and probably not as densely packed as the ss239. it is one of my have to have brushes for everyday becuase i just find it easier to work with but its probably one of those personal prefernce brushes. it would also be good to use to place brow highlight colors

Eye Shadow -NARS - Ashes to Ashes
puppyluv2620 2/18/2010 8:48:00 PM
this is probably my favorite e/s by NARS. it is very very similar to satin taupe from MAC however the NARS one is lighter. it can be sheer and i can understand why some people have problems with this color becuase i really dont think this color is one that would work for everyone. on me it shows up just a great taupe color. i dont have to work too hard to get it to show up (MAC NW20-25 for reference). i've used all kinds of bases with this and i havent really found one that works any better than another. however depending on what color you want to pull out in this e/s then that is the kind of base to go for (i.e. you want to pull out the greys use a darker or grey base) i've found my 213 brush really packs on this color well. overall i think its a great color, great pigmentation, great texture, probably not worth the 23 some odd dollars i spent on it but hey i'm ok with it since this is one of my fav go to everyday throw it on the lids and go colors. i would probably repurchase if i ever run out which i probably wont. NARS items i have found last forever so they are more of an investment to me lol

Palettes -NARS - 9951 Pleasures of Paris Palette
puppyluv2620 2/17/2010 7:01:00 PM
i LOVE this. i was lusting for it forever and tried to swap for it many times without success so i saw last week it was still (or back up) on the saks website. after much deliberating i caved and ordered one. it is gorgeous! every single one of the colors is wearable for day or night. i also love neutrals and that is what this palette is. i think it would be fantastic for traveling to just take this and a few brushes and go. the pigmentation in these colors are awesome as well. i was worried because after reading some reviews i heard the e/s didnt last very long but i havent had any problems so far. all in all this is of course dupeable but i love it and i dont think i would repurchase this palette itself because its LE so i dont think i'd have the opportunity but i would probably buy the e/s individually. i love the nars palettes in general because its a great way to try out their colors and yeah its pricey but for what you get its a good deal since a single e/s is about $23 and you get 6 e/s in the palette for $55. some dupes i have found- mac bronze mixed with glamour check = fez urban decay x mixed with something like all that glitters from mac = nepal shale, shadowy lady, and/or posion pen from mac = demon lover any white e/s = abyssina (its like a whiter version of phloof by mac since phloof has more pink undertones) keep in mind those are not exact but the closest i have found so far

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer blush in Peachykeen
puppyluv2620 2/17/2010 5:38:00 PM
this is quickly becoming my hg blush. it reminds me a LOT of orgasm by nars which i also love. i dont want to say this is more pigmented than orgasm it just goes on darker. orgasm is more peachy gold and this one is a darker pink color. either way they look pretty much the same on my skin. its just that slightly flushed look and it blends into my skin nicely. it has shimmer in it but i dont find it to be too chunky or glittery or anything. just give a nice glow. LOVE it. will buy it over and over!

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
puppyluv2620 2/17/2010 12:57:00 PM
i'm torn on this product honestly but i decided to reveiw it because it has more cons than pros to me. it has a really strong smell which i dont care for. the brush applicator doesnt bother me however the thick consistency does. i've used about half of my bottle and once it gets down that low its really hard to get any product on my brush so i have to tip it up and scrap my brush to get anything out which messes up nails. i've noticed that it changes the color of some of my polishes, makes them dull looking and darker. it chips off super fast becuase when i dont use this my nail polish stays on forever. it peels off in big sheets but that could be contributed to the seche vite base coat i also use with it. one of the major pros of this product is the fact that it dries SUPER fast. like once i have painted all my nails i wait about 2 minutes and its dry. so like i said to me there are more cons than pros. i will continue to use this on days when i need my nails dried super fast but on days i have extra time to sit and wait for them to try i will skip this because i'd rather wait a little longer for them to dry than for them to start chipping off the very next day. i'm undecided if i will repurchase but probably not.

Lipstick -GOSH - Velvet Touch Lipstick #134 Darling
puppyluv2620 2/15/2010 1:23:00 PM
i recently received this in a swap and i am loving it. this is the nude lipstick i have been wanting forever! it gives me a perfect nude lip without settiling into lines or anything. i havent found it to be drying at all either. shipping on this seemed crazy since i live in the states but i def think i will pay it now if i cant swap for back ups because this is my hg. i prefer this to my mac myth and creme de nude and any other nude lipstick i own. the only complaint i have is that when i first opened it the lipstick came out of the tube completely so i think the packaging sucks or mabye i just got a bad one i dont know but either way i love the color so much i will deal with those imperfections:)

Shampoo -Graham Webb - Halo Rescue Reparative Shampoo
puppyluv2620 2/15/2010 1:05:00 AM
my hairdresser had used this on me after she highlighted my hair and it was so cute in the little bottle and it smelled amazing so i just knew i had to try it. i saw it on sale at ulta when i was about to pick up my hg panteen and decided what the heck. what can i say? i'm a sucker for cute packaging. but this stuff is crap! i got sucked in because of the cute packaging and it smells good but no way never again. it made my hair flat and just gross feeling. it didnt do anything for me except dry out my scalp. it lathers ok not as good as other shampoos but at least it did lather. i so wanted to love this but i cant. it doesnt work for me at all. i honestly dont have anything good to say about this. maybe i should have gone for a diferent one instead of the reparative formula or maybe i should have just used it once a week but there is no way i'd repurchase anything from this brand ever again or put this stuff on my hair anymore even if it was once a week. i might have considered repurchasing something if it hadnt dried out my scalp so bad but seriously it hurts in places because i scratched it so hard. it gave me the worst hair days i had ever had in my life. i know how awful this stuff was for my hair because tonight was the first time i went back to my panteen and my hair feels 100 times better and different already. i can tell it is softer and has a lot more body. my scalp still hurts but it will prob take a while for that to heal since i was mean to it lol but yeah skip this stuff, its not worth the money becuase not only does it suck its also on the pricey side. i wish i could give this a 0 rating.

Shampoo -Pantene - Brunette Expressions Shampoo
puppyluv2620 2/15/2010 12:53:00 AM
this is by far my HG shampoo. i have used probably every brand imaginable from the cheapest of cheap to outrageously expensive and this is always what i come back to. maybe my hair just is use to it from me using it so much or maybe the formula is just that good i'm not really sure which it is but i can always tell a difference when i use this stuff. i was blonde for the better part of a decade and have recently dyed my hair dark but i find that all of the panteen shampoos work the same for me. this keeps my color vibrant for a longer period of time. it really doesnt fade that much at all. it makes my hair so soft and manageable. i dont have to deal with annoying tangles or anything like that and i think it smells so good! i would recommend this to anyone and everyone becuase i've never had a shampoo work so well for me. i have repurchased this over and over and i will continue to do so. i honestly think i am done trying other shampoos.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
puppyluv2620 2/11/2010 11:35:00 PM
i hate to be a downer on all the good reviews of this product but its just a pink lipstick. yeah its a bright but in a wearable kind of way and it is very pretty and yeah you can build on it but i think it is dupeable. i gave it a 4 rating because i love the idea that all the money from viva glam purchases go to charity and it is a very pretty pink lipstick but like i said... dupeable. this in no way shape or form would be a HG of mine and i'm not rushing out to get back ups. but this is just my opinion :) and dont get me wrong i do think its a great color and if you liked saint germain, color crafted but found those hard to wear then this would be a great alternative, its just not my favorite lol
