Skincare - Body -Weleda - Birch Cellulite Oil

Fantastic product. I thought that most of the benefit would come from massaging, but having recently compared it to a Decleor body oil, I've changed my mind (that one was about 6 times more expensive and smelled like skunk on my skin). The product matters as well and this one delivers great results. Quickly improves skin tone. And yes, the smell is quite pleasant, doesn't get old. As for the packaging, I'm re-using the Decleor bottle :) Their pump is nice.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - SBT - Seabuckthorn Lip Balm

Really nice ingredients but my experience is the same as the previous reviewer's - it doesn't moisturize, just coats and even dries out my lips. They feel like vellum paper: smooth but dry, thankfully no cracks yet but I've only used it for 2 days. On the plus side, it's inexpensive, has no taste or smell. I want to try using it as a hand or foot salve and see what it does, it's pretty useless as a lip balm.

Toners -Caudalie - Eau de Raisin Hydratante - Grape Water

I have combination skin, my forehead gets oily if not moisturized, but a lot of creams a too heavy. This is just perfect, I spray it on right after cleansing and it regulates all my areas. I also noticed fewer blackheads if I use it twice a day (after morning and evening cleansing). So it gives me a very nice overall moisturizing and balancing effect.

Skincare - Face -Decleor - Harmonie Jour Day Cream
pumaka 1/6/2007 11:40:00 PM
I bought it twice now. After my first jar ran out, my skin was in such a fantastic shape I thought I could get away with using anything else at that point. However after trying 4 other creams I came back to this one. Even though it's expensive I can't ask for more from a moisturizer, it's just perfect. It works to even out my complexion (really eliminates the T-zone issues) and moisturize my skin. That's all I want from it and this is what I get. I also use it under the eyes and it works great to soften my laugh-lines (they're still mainly superficial, so this provides enough moisture).

Moisturizers -Decleor - Aromessence Rose D'Orient Night Balm

It's another magic potion in the Harmonie line. I find the day cream and the night balm work much better when used on top of this concentrate. Overall, if you're going to use Decleor for sensitive skin, this is the first product you should get. The other minimums would be the cream and night balm, and with these 3 you'll have a whole system that will restore your skin and will help keep it smooth, blemish-, redness- and flake-free. It lasts for a long time and the only problem I have with this product is the packaging. It should have some kind of dropper. Pouring on your hand without touching the opening is wasteful. I try to avoid touching the bottle with the finger so I wouldn't contaminate the oil and it could last for awhile, so I have to pour it into a different bottle with the dropper.

Sunscreen -Dr. Hauschka - Sunscreen Cream SPF20
pumaka 7/19/2006 11:48:00 AM
I like this sunscreen, even though it is a bit oily. It goes on slightly white, then turns clear on my skin. I will not buy it again or continue using it on my face though, because it contains lemon oil constituents (Linalool, Geraniol, Citral, Limonene, Citronellol) which can be phototoxic and it's just a killer for my melasma-prone skin. So basically instead of helping prevent that, I've noticed it caused my melasma color to deepen.
I will use this on the body until I use up the tube, but will keep it away from the face.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Serum 15
pumaka 7/17/2006 11:40:00 AM
A very effective serum. Helps my skin heal (like when I have scabs after a glycolic peel or if I pick something I'm not supposed to), and evens out my skin tone and texture very quickly. Takes 3 days of daily use to notice a difference after I take a break due to being lazy. I found it clogs my pores around the lips and on the chin a bit, but that's only if I use too much serum (if more than 3 full-size drops for the entire face, and it's supposed to be 4-5 drops for both face and neck).

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Potent Botanical Skin Brightening Gel Complex

It works great in conjunction with glycolic peels, definitely breaks up my melasma and fades post-inflammation hyperpigmentation (pimple spots). I don't like the old packaging (which I have), the bottle is totally opaque and I can't see how much I have left. New bottle is clear, so that's an improvement.

A must for me - repairs anything and everything overight. Balances oil production, too.

Gels/Soaps -Kiss My Face - Olive Oil and Chamomile Soap
pumaka 3/3/2006 8:25:00 PM
It is ugly green and smells like pharmacy scent mixed with olive oil, almost like some sort of medicine. I can deal with it though, it's not horrible, just not all floral or musky or especially nice. However, it does a fantastic job at keeping my semi-dry/sensitive/acne prone skin clean, not irritated and in fact, I think it has a calming effect on my facial redness (not surprising, since it's got camomile in it). Overall, I intend to keep using it. Perfect cleanser for me - natural ingredients, does the job, doesn't irritate and is DIRT CHEAP!! ($2.50 CAD for that huge bar).

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Chergui

This is my favorite SL scent so far. It does start out harsh, but transforms into something FANTASTIC! Sorry, can't describe the notes etc. I don't get tired of it, it's half classic, half exotic. I've been using it for a year on and off.

Eyeliner -Dr. Hauschka - Eyeliner
pumaka 2/24/2006 11:32:00 PM
Easy to handle brush, very convenient - I feel like I have a lot of control over the application and it's usually hard for me to use any liquid eyeliner due to naturally curled and long eyelashes. It doesn't irritate my eyes, is very easy to wash off, and stays put a long time. Doesn't flake.
It's not waterproof though and if you want to apply eye shadow over it, it takes a few minutes to dry.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
pumaka 8/15/2005 2:27:00 AM
I love it. Never irritates, even if gets into the eyes. Never causes my lashes to fall out like some others! Never need to pull - very gentle.
Like the smell, texture and packaging. However, it's going fast! Too expensive for something with such a limited purpose.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask

It works amazing as long as you don't abuse it. I have normal skin and this mask is too drying if done more than once a week.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Frownies
pumaka 8/11/2005 2:42:00 PM
I'm 26 and started developing 1 vertical line between my eyebrows. I thought it was from frowning, even though I think I smile all the time. However, since I sleep on my stomach with an awkwardly positioned face, it turned out the deep wrinkle was actually from compressing skin during sleep.
Started using Frownies 10 days ago and the wrinkle was gone by day 4!!! It's made of sturdy paper, so it keeps my face in place :))) This is by the way the reason why I think duct or any other tape would NOT work - it would be just too soft.
This hard piece of paper is like a physical barrier. Works great for me. I've skipped a couple of days and though wrinkle does return it's definitely not as deep. I'm thinking I'll be doing it about 4-5 times a week, simply because I want to give my forehead skin some breathing time at night.
I haven't developed any irritation from the glue.
As far as removing the thing - if you just pull it off dry, well OF COURSE it'll be just like tearing a bandaid. Instead I wet my fingers and put a bit of water on the edges, then lift them up and gradually add water and lift more and more. It comes off within 10 seconds, water helps a lot. Doesn't leave any marks if you do it like this.
