Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
pulitzer 2/24/2013 1:32:00 AM

I have used up two of the Black Colorstay Eyeliners and will repurchase. I think this product is currently the best self-sharpening, waterproof eyeliner in the drugstores, though I think improvements can be made. I would prefer a creamier product for easier application but the current formula IS quite waterproof and does not smudge easily.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Complete Moisture Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5

The taste, scent, and feel of this product are all quite artificial. The scent is lemony which I don't mind but the taste has a fake, waxy sugary tinge. The actual product glides on well - almost too well - and is almost a bit slimy :/ It wore off quite easily too which is surprising since it is supposed to give "complete moisture." Side note: I just bought the Blixtex simple and sensitive (the scentless, tasteless one in the light blue with only 5 ingredients) and it is much more preferable to this one!

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner in Black
rated 2 of 5
pulitzer 2/18/2013 7:28:00 PM

Remarkably average. It is creamy when you first purchase but after a few months it dries and crumbles! Because the tip is skinny, any pressure easily breaks it. The self advancing function helps in applying a precise line, but the actual formula of the product is lacking. It also smudges easily which is nice for smokey looks but not when I want a solid line on my lash line that won't transfer nor when I want to tightline that lasts all day.

Eye Makeup Remover -Unlisted Brand - Beauty Diary - Peach Soda Eye & Lip Makeup Remover
rated 3 of 5
pulitzer 2/18/2013 7:24:00 PM

This makeup remover is not bad, but you could get the same quality product for a cheaper price (it's on Ebay for around $15) and in better packaging. The bottle is NOT leak proof! It will spill in your bag or if knocked over on the counter even with the cap on. This is because the cap is like a pseudo pill bottle safety lock but without the actual lock...so it's just loosely screwed up. In terms of the actual product, it needs to be shaken up to emulsify the separate liquids. It feels greasy which is not a problem, though, since I clean my face after I remove my eye make any way. It gets the job done but again, I would not repurchase because there are cheaper removers that do the exact same.

Lips -Max Factor - Lipfinity Lip Tint
rated 4 of 5
pulitzer 10/13/2012 1:45:00 AM

I actually liked this product! I got the rose color, which goes on my lips as an almost-red -- very wearable without being an intense bright red! It lasts me from 9 am - 4 pm through eating and drinking! As with lip marker stains in general, they do dry your lips a little so night time lip exfoliating and moisturizing is essential to keep the product looking good. I would rather go through this process and continue wearing this amazing lip stain though. My only complaint is that while the product was inexpensive, the actual product inside does not last that time (about 2 months every other day use for me). This may be in part due to the felt tip, which while is easy to use for application, can dry out.

Polishes -Nicole - Kardashian Kolor - Rainbow in the S-Kylie
rated 5 of 5
pulitzer 5/6/2012 1:17:00 PM

I LOVE THIS. Rainbow In The S-Kylie is the easiest multi color glitter nail polish I've used -- by that I mean that the glitter applies densely and evenly even though the clear base is not thick at all. Compared to the Essie Luxeffects glitters, Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor RITSK is so much easier to apply and dries much faster! I like wearing two coats of this over any color polish (looks good against just about any color) or four coats of it alone for a densely packed tasteful rainbow glitter nail. Would buy again and again!

Polishes -OPI - Designer De Better
rated 5 of 5
pulitzer 3/19/2012 3:20:00 AM

So gorgeous! Designer...De Better is an elegant white gold and silver based metallic that is warmed up with some tiny copper glitters. The base color is super unique and I think can be worn cool or warm. The coppery red glitter mixed in is magic and makes a metallic finish even more dimensional! The consistency is OPI-fabulous as usual: more liquidy but still rich in color so a breeze to apply. Two coats gives totally opaque color.

Polishes -OPI - Thanks A Windmillion
rated 5 of 5
pulitzer 3/10/2012 8:12:00 AM

Thanks A Windmillion is sort of a more conservative and subdued generic mint green that we all seem to love with some light grey in there. It is cool in undertones and fits a spring look well, leaning almost pastel but not quite there. Give it a shot if you want something a bit more understated but still has an infusion of color: good for work! As with OPI nail polishes i've tried before, TAW is opaque in two coats with a shiny creme finish.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 2 of 5
pulitzer 2/3/2012 6:59:00 PM

Causes clumps and doesn't hold a curl at all (which for my straight Asian lashes is a must)! The humongous applicator is unnecessary to give volume, as not the whole brush is utilized during application anyway. In fact, I don't exactly know which part of the awkward brush to use. When I try to use the fattest section in the middle, it is hard to rotate the brush to get to the shorter lashes in the inner and outer corner lashes. If I use the tapered section at the front of the wand, my lashes clump even more because a ton of formula gathers there. There is also a bit of smudging at the end of the day.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
pulitzer 1/28/2012 4:40:00 PM

Seche Vite top coat has changed my life. I am never going back to top coats that take forever to dry and don't even ensure no chipping for at least a week. This stuff dries the nail to the touch in 10 seconds and dries the entire nail in a minute, maximum. No more not doing anything with hour long manicures making sure that base coat + two coats of color + top coat are dry completely so I don't ruin them. This is even perfectly okay to use on just applied wet nail polish. The drop of Seche Vite glides over the np to give you a super smooth and shiny surface. This top coat allows me to have perfectly manicured nails in less than 10 minutes. I've also had mine for 2 months now, and it has not thickened. It remains very usuable and I still have over 3/4 of the bottle left! I will forever be a purchaser of Seche Vite top coat.

Eyeliner -Tarte - EmphasEYES waterproof clay eye shadow & liner
rated 2 of 5
pulitzer 1/15/2012 3:32:00 PM

Unfortunately, I also have to go with the negative side of reviews on here. Works well upon first using (relatively smooth application, good staying power) but quickly dried up in a month to a harder consistency - the resulting product was not only more difficult to get on my liner brush but was also harder to apply to my eyelid as it tugged. Perhaps the container is not as airtight as it could be to keep it usable longer? Though this product is quite water resistant and has good lasting power, I'd go with the more emollient Bobbi Brown or ELF cream liner, both of which I have tried and like! I've also tried Tarte's inner rim liner pencil which I hated upon immediate use and ranted about on here...I'd agree that Tarte's eye products need some work compared to their great cheek and lip products.

Polishes -Sinful - soul mate
rated 4 of 5
pulitzer 1/2/2012 9:08:00 AM

Soulmate is the first Sinful Colors nail polish I've tried and I have to say that I'm impressed! First of all the color is a gorgeous light warm pink that can be worn girly and elegant. The factor that impressed me the most, though, is the opacity of the formula. It is super creamy and it is the only np I've tried (Essie, OPI, Sephora by OPI included) that goes on completely opaque in one coat! I don't know if I'm just missing out, but I was so surprised this nail polish gave me a perfect finish in one application. It dried relatively quickly with just one coat and with my Seche Vite top coat, I had perfectly manicured hands in less than 10 min. The only complaint I have is that the quality of the applicator needs work. The bristles are quite hard, not flexible, and scratchy as well. They can make streaks in the polish if you aren't careful. If only Sinful Colors made a better brush, this would be a near perfect polish for me!

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Satsuma Shower Gel
rated 3 of 5
pulitzer 12/30/2011 12:37:00 AM

The Body Shop's Satsuma shower gel holds true to its reputation as a very delicious candy citrus scent. The first time I used this in the shower, I just wanted to keep showering to take in the scent which had spread with the steam. I used with a shower pouf and it lathered decently, although I had to use quite a few pumps (see below...). Other than that, this shower gel does not do as much as other shower gels in the same price range. The fragrance is unnatural and very sweet ("Fragrance" is near the top of the ingredients list far from "satsuma oil"), and so is the bright orange color. I do not get the moisturizing effect it advertises at all, which I'm thinking is because this shower gel is so watery that it negates any potential effect of the oils in the gel. I bought this in the largest size which comes with a pump, and because the product is so runny, I have to use around four pumps every time I shower. I would not buy this again, even for the delicious scent, because I think this is an average quality watery shower gel. I will enjoy what I have left though, but I won't really miss it.

Polishes -E.L.F. - Nail Polish
rated 2 of 5
pulitzer 12/24/2011 11:52:00 PM

I got this in Mint Cream which is a trendy creamy light green-blue. I wore this a few times and got compliments on the color each time...then I threw it out. I had only kept it that long and worn it two or three times for the pretty color. The formula is terrible; it's thin, streaky, and takes at least three coats to get opaque color. Using this required a lot of patience... This is really only getting a 2 rating because of the color, $1 price and decent packaging.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 4 of 5
pulitzer 12/23/2011 4:12:00 PM

St. Ives Apricot Scrub IS harsh - but that doesn't mean it isn't any good. I have found that this product cleans out my pores and especially visibly reduces the size of my pores on and around my nose. My skin, overall, feels softer and smoother after use as well. St. Ives apricot scrub definitely does the job of a physical exfoliant for a low price and delicious scent! This makes the whole bathroom smell nice every time I use it. Because the walnut shell particles in the scrub are harsh, I only use this ONCE every 1-2 weeks when I feel like my skin could use a refreshing deep scrub. I have combination skin, so I stay away from the eye area, as well as tops of my cheeks where my skin is drier.
