BB Cream -Olay - Total Effects Tone Correcting "CC" Cream

If I could, I would give this negative 10. Number one, the smell is HORRIBLE! I wore this for one day, and could not WAIT to get home to wash my face. It wreaks, absolutely WREAKS of cheap suntan lotion. I actually had a coworker ask out loud before a meeting, "is somebody in here wearing suntan lotion?" And he was sitting five seats down from where I was sitting. Secondly, the "tint" was non-existent. I had to wear foundation on top. Third, it's way overpriced. 25 dollars for this was about 25 dollars too much! I returned this and got my $25 dollars back. There are WAY better products out there that have SPF 15 in them, specifically one from Oil of Olay Age Defying daytime lotion. I have used that for as long as they've made it, and there is absolutely NO odor, SPF 15, and it is wonderful. The only, and I mean THE ONLY reason I purchased this was because it was mentioned in Martha Stewart's LIVING magazine's March 2013 issue. They must have gotten a big payoff from Olay to recommend this dog. *And, for the record, I am an Olay lover, just not this one.

Styling Products -Pantene - Silky Moisture Whip

This stuff is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! I have extremely dry hair from coloring every 4 weeks. After I wash, I skip using any conditioner. My hair feels like straw after I towel dry....then I add a nice sized dollop of this and voila -- soft, shiny hair, with absolutely no residue, greasiness whatsoever. I let my hair air dry until it's just damp, then I use rag rollers that I sleep in. The next morning, when I remove the rollers, my hair is bouncy, shiny, and full of volume. I will be stocking up on this stuff, because already I've noticed it's hard to find. Try it!!!

Holy Toot! What an awesome, amazingly fantastic supercalifragilisticexpialidocious hairspray!!!!!!! Hands-down THE BEST I'VE EVER USED! (yes, I just shouted that from the rooftops.) This is found on the bottom shelf in most drug stores, with the old-lady sprays like Rave and Final Net, but this is most definitely NOT an old-lady spray. It leaves hair soft and shiny with tons of body and holds ALLLL day. I'mma get 10 cans of this gold -- before it's discontinued!!!!

Treatments -Redken - Smooth Down Butter Treat [DISCONTINUED]

Two words: LOVE IT. I have colored my hair for so long that it is now kind of frizzy, probably because it's colored-over gray hair. This product made it soft and shiny, but not too slippery that it won't hold a set when I use my curling barrel iron or hot rollers. I only left it on for the minimum 5 minutes, rinsed and towel dried, then used Beyond Curling creme (Sally Beauty's Bedhead knock-off line) before letting it dry naturally. Great product.

Best. Hairspray. Ever. Been using it for as long as it's been around. No crunch. Great hold. Beats every other hairspray I've tried, and I've tried them all......If this was 20 bucks a can -- I'd still buy it.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 9/12/2011 10:52:00 AM

Probably on my 20th bottle by now. No topcoat dries faster or is shinier. If it weren't for this product, I wouldn't paint my nails. I can paint at night, and go to bed 10 minutes later, without worrying about smudges. Seche Vite is a Perfect 10 out of 10.

Polishes -OPI - Strawberry Margarita

Great polish! It's a great shade. But what impressed me most is that it lasted longer than any nailpolish I've ever used, a full week chip-free. I have a huge nailpolish collection, but this one is the ultimate for me.

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath

I fell for this color twice. Once because of the name, and most recently, after seeing it on Giada DiLaurentis on FoodNetwork. It looked so nice on her, I went to Ulta and repurchased. Same problem now as before, it has horrible staying power, chips and frays on the edges, looks streaky if you don't apply three coats, but when you do apply three coats, it's too thick. Also the color yellows and fades after only a day or two, and looks almost dirty. I won't ever repurchase again, let alone reapply. It's not OPI that I dislike, however. I LOVE Strawberry Margarita from OPI. The formula is much different, it's silkier/smoother, and only requires two coats. It lasted a full week chip-free when I applied Seche Vite as a quickdry top coat.

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk in Dark Brown
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 4/16/2011 10:53:00 PM

UPDATE****** BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS COLOR!!! THE DAY AFTER I USED THIS, I LOOKED AT MY HAIR IN THE DAYLIGHT AND IT WAS BLACK.....REALLY BLACK! The instructions are NOT clear. IF YOU have EVER colored your hair -- as in getting it salon colored -- do not leave it on the full head for the full amount of time!!!!! ONLY do the roots for the 20 minutes, then pull thru for 5 minutes. Had I known this I could have avoided a lot of heartache for the past three weeks. I have black hair now, and short of stripping it and damaging it, I will have black hair for a very loooooong time. Still think the product is awesome, my hair condition is great, but the color is just totally wrong due to improper use. :( I've been brainwashed/snowed for the past two years by my salon with their hoity toity salon color "INOA by Loreal" .....paying $80 dollars plus tip, just for a root touch up (no haircut or blow dry,) every 6 weeks. Supposedly, the "Inoa" was making my hair "healthier" with every visit....because of the lack of ammonia. Well, that was a load of bull crap. So I read the reviews on here, and took the plunge with Dark Brown Colorsilk. All I can say is: YIPPEE! I can't believe how absolutely amazingly terrific this product is! I am literally blown away by the high-quality results I got from this hair color . No bad smell. Leaves hair in great condition. Ammonia free. Easy to apply. No fading. Perfect Color without any brassy red. I paid 4 bucks. I can finally tell my salon to suck it! -- I'm never ever going to spend 80 bucks for someone to color my roots again. I may go in for a few strands of lighter highlights around my face in the summer, but I'll be coloring myself from now on.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy - Root Touch Up
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 4/5/2011 11:48:00 PM

WOW! I can't believe that I didn't try this years ago....I could have saved enough money by now to go on a cruise! Normally I go to the salon and pay $70 plus tip to have my gray roots covered. I have dark brown/black hair. I pay extra for the Loreal salon-only "Inoa" haircolor. This really has started to annoy me as it gets more expensive every year, and my gray, which is concentrated around my face and temples, is growing in faster. So every 5 weeks or so now I'm shelling out $80 bucks to have my roots done.....not even a blow dry or cut with that. Tonight, I decided at 9:50 pm that I was going to drive to CVS and buy Root Touch Up, based on the glowing reviews it's gotten on here. I bought the Dark Brown box. I got home at 10:05, applied it to all the roots around my face, watched TV for 20 minutes, got into the shower and rinsed it out well....and couldn't believe my eyes how great it worked. It's dry now and still looks amazingly like the salon coloring I was paying all that money for. I am so thrilled, I want to post it as my Facebook status -- but will refrain from doing so since I really don't want everyone to know I'm coloring. ;-) I

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Spray De Mode
rated 2 of 5
prweiss65 11/8/2010 9:26:00 AM

This is a good hairspray, BUT the odor is absolutely horrific. I can not use this when I'm going to be in the car with my sons -- they HATE the smell, and I have to say, I do too. I wish it was unscented. I won't repurchase because of that.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Color Support Conditioner for Warm Brunettes
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 8/15/2010 9:43:00 PM

Hands down the best color conditioner (and I also use the shampoo) I've ever used. And I have spent hundreds over the years trying to find a good one. I'm finally done looking. I can't say enough good things about the way this leaves my hair soft and shiny, and it keeps my brown color from fading, it looks great until I'm ready to go in for a haircut and touchup, at least 3 weeks longer. I still get gray roots :( but a few swipes of my brown color crayon from Sally Beauty and using this keeps my hair looking good all the time.

Great great stuff. For my medium length bob, I put a dime sized amount on damp hair, pull my hair over my head in a loose pony tail and sleep on it. The next morning when I let my hair down, it is wavy, shiny and smells fresh. I love the Bumble and Bumble products....I also use the Color support shampoo and conditioner and Spray de Mode, and my hair has never looked or felt better.

Foundations -Stila - one step makeup [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 4/19/2010 4:57:00 PM

Wow. What a great foundation! I put it on 6 hours ago, and my skin still looks noticeably great. It glides on, dries to a powder finish and covers all my flaws. It makes a wonderful smoothe base to put on blush. I top it off with a dusting of Bare Escentuals Clear Radiance. When I first tried it on in Ulta, I liked it, but I put it back due to the price. Then I went out to the car, looked in the rearview mirror and promptly went back into the store to purchase. It really is worth the money, and you can feel the powder and the primer in it. The only thing, I'm not crazy about the bottle ~ I'd like to see better how much is in there.

Treatments -Pureology - ColourMax UV Color Defense spray
rated 5 of 5
prweiss65 6/18/2009 12:44:00 PM

This is an absolutely amazing product for my dyed and slightly hilighted, wavy-but-not-curly shoulder length hair. I don't use it every day, and sometimes forget I have it. But when I go into the hairproduct graveyard and pull it out, I fall in love with it all over again. It adds body and also gives the teeniest bit of hold to my waves, just enough so that I can skip gel or mousse and let it dry naturally. Then I add a bit of Kiwi Piecing Paste and I am out the door. This is my summer HG dynamic duo.
