Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer Fair to Light
protobiont 1/23/2005 11:32:00 PM
I have never tried Cover Girl foundation products before because I wasn't sure about the quality. After trying this, I must admit that I will start to explore Cover Girl's products. This TM is very silky and light. I have acne scars on my chin and always thought that I cannot pull it off with just TM. (I've been wearing medium coverage foundation) This TM did change my opinion though. It's just what I need ...dewy sheer coverage that gives the skin healthy glow. Of course, I need heavier concealer like MAC studio finish for my flaws. It feels really nice and light on my skin. I use this with MAC creamblush for a very healthy glowy look! Broad spectrum sunscreen is a plus, too! The best of all, it keep me hydrated and never accentuate my flakies. (even Laura Mercier moisturizing foundation accentuates my flakie!) My skin feels healthier with this than any foundation. You should definitely try this!!! The only complain is I wish the colour is a little less pink and more yellow. However, for only $ CDN 10, I 'll put up with that!

Blush -MAC - blushcreme ladyblush
protobiont 1/12/2005 10:54:00 PM
I'm exploring the creamblushes and this is currently my favourite. The colour is a warm pink that should flatter most skin tones. For those who love a "natural & flushing" look, this is for you! PROS: It DOES NOT GRAB ON YOUR DRY PATCHES!!!!!! This is not very common to come across! It's well pigmented. Not too much (it's hard to blend), nor too little (it won't show up). Stay put through out the day. Very blendable. CONS: The texture is a little sticky compared to most creamblushes. SIMILAR TO: MAC FleurPower Powderblush (colour wise) So if you're thinking of trying it, you should! The price is $ CDN 20.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Wonderstruck
protobiont 12/26/2004 1:13:00 AM
This is currently my favourite lipgloss! The colour is much more subtle than its appearance in the tube. It looks amazing with Fleur Power blush from MAC. (also my favourite) This combination is perfect for those who want a "healthy" and "flushed" look. I also love the applicator which is a little brush rather than a wand. It makes application a breeze.

Moisturizers -Chanel - Age Delay Nuit [DISCONTINUED]
protobiont 12/5/2004 1:38:00 AM
Amazing Stuff! It looks very rich in the jar but goes on very light. It absorbs very well and instantly hydrates my skin without greas or residue. It is quite heavily perfumed but for some reasons the cream actually feels very soothing on my slightly sensitive cheeks. I wake up with soft and dewey skin every morning. Maybe it's my imagination, but upon application, my skin looks even toned instantly. (maybe because the cream is light pink) Anyway, the only complain is the price $CDN 90 is almost too much for a jar of cream. Having said that, I would still repurchase it.

Pressed Powders -Chanel - Poudre Universelle Compacte

I'm loving this so much! This powder is very silky and gives you good coverage. It gives you a soft focused/halo look to your complexion. I used to use MAC select Sheer but not anymore!!!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
protobiont 11/29/2004 1:18:00 AM
Amazing primer for me! It turns your skin into velvet. I 'm not sure about the oil-control property of this primer but nevertheless, it makes my skin look so gorgeous. Smooth and even toned. Also it helps preventing the foundation to settle in my dry patches on my cheeks. I have extremely oily T-zone with dry cheeks and so far no break out.

Crème -Sue Devitt - Triple C-weed Whipped Foundation
protobiont 11/29/2004 1:12:00 AM
This is a very beautiful foundation. I am a foundation freak and have tried many foundations. This foundation is one of the best! The texture is so light and fluffy. It feels really light going on and blends impeccably. Don't let the word 'creme' scares you because I have extremely oily T-zone and patchy cheeks but this still works well for me. It does not turn me oily any faster than other foundations nor does it settle in my dry patches. The coverage is sheer. It makes your skin appears soft and supple and look like you have no foundation on....just nearly perfect, bare complexion.... My only complain is that I have it in Tanami for my NC 25 complexion but has too much red in it. Other than that, superb foundation!

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
protobiont 11/27/2004 1:11:00 AM
Just one word for this baby "AMAZING". I used to use the studio sticks which I found to be too powdery over blemishes or on my chins. (and it didn't cover that well either) I was about to buy the studio finish (pot) when the the SA recommend select cover up to me. I have dark acne scars to cover and didn't think that the sheerest concealer from MAC would do the trick. Boy, I was wrong, this is very creamy, easy to blend, and covers the blemishes/red spots very nicely. For $ CDN 15, this is pretty cheap since it will last forever. (you only need a dot on each dark spots)

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
protobiont 10/29/2004 11:41:00 PM
Oh my lord! This gives me BIG and BAD lashes! I have it in blackest black and oh my... The rave coming from me means something since I lashes are so thin and nearly invisible. I have tried Dior Show, Lancome Hypnose, EL MagnaScopic, Maybelline XXL and Volume Express, L'oreal Double extend and so many more... However, Voluminous beats them all!!! I use this over my Shiseido primer and the result is breathe taking. Also, I got it on sale for $CDN 6.50. Well, I usually pay $ CDN 27 for department store mascaras but not anymore.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - moisturizing foundation
protobiont 10/25/2004 5:42:00 PM
I 'm a big fan of luminous complexion.(not matte but not too dewy either) This foundation seems to provide just that. The coverage is awesome, with a little concealer on my acne scars and I look flawless. The foundation is a little hard to spread but I tried using damp brush. It blends impeccably and provides smooth but natural look. So far, I think that this is my new Holy grail. My HG used to be Estee Lauder So Ingenious but LM seems to be better at not setting in dry patches...so there's the winner!

Moisturizers -Lancome - Aqua Fusion Cream
protobiont 10/24/2004 12:23:00 AM
Wow, I 'm using the gel/cream version and loving it! My skin was quite dull and dehydrated. Now, after a week, my skin is smooth, soft and supple. I can now say that I have pretty healthy skin! I have combo/dry skin and this cream provides sufficient level of hydration. Not greasy on my T-zone either. However, if I'm going out into a Canadian weather, I often layer a thicker cream just on my cheeks. I tried Vichy Thermal Fix 2 and Estee Lauder Hydra Complete Lotion (both for dehydrated skin) and so far Aqua Fusion provides the best result. The price is $ CDN 49 for 1.7 oz. tub.

Blush -Estee Lauder - BlushLights Creamy CheekColor
protobiont 10/10/2004 10:23:00 PM
Wow, I'm very impressed! I have dry/flaky cheeks and this cream blush doesn't grab on any of the flakies. I have it in Pink Shimmer and it looks fabulous on my NC 25 skin. It's a soft/sheer pink with a hint of brown that leaves your cheeks looking luminous. I used to use Dior Pink So Cheek cream blush but it accentuated my flakies so I thought that I would never be able to wear cream blush. but wow I was wrong! I also think that it sits nicer on my drier cheeks than powder blush. Will definitely purchase again!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Petting Pink
protobiont 10/6/2004 2:47:00 AM
OMG I love this so much! The colour is gorgeous...soft NATURAL pink, and of course the texture is divine. It's not sticky or heavy at all! I am not a lip person to start with so this is perfect to finish my look. Yes, it does fade away rather quickly but it does leave your lips silky soft and healthy. Definitely a staple for me!!!!

Foundations -MAC - Hypereal [DISCONTINUED]
protobiont 10/6/2004 1:35:00 AM
To me, this is like a cheaper version of Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation. 2 differences though: MAC provide more coverage (sheer-medium) while Stila provides only very sheer coverage, and MAC 's colours are more golden/pink while Stila's are neutral. The foundation goes on smoothly and gives you a dewy& glowy look. I have combo/dry cheeks and I can see why the oily gals may just simply hate it. It can look really oily in the oilier areas but that can be fixed with a dust of powder. But if you want to look like J. Lo....well, you just have to blot more often ! I am a NC 25 in every other MAC products and NC 200 blends in nicely. The texture and coverage is very similar to their Select foundation. (just like average liquid foundation) Of course, the main selling point is the dewiness you get.

Liquid -Stila - Illuminating Liquid Foundation
protobiont 10/4/2004 10:36:00 PM
I think that I like this foundation. The texture is so light, I cannot feel it on my face at all. The coverage is very sheer in my opinion. (actually sheerer than MAC tinted moisturiser!) I really have no idea how people can get medium coverage with this product. It would only even out your skintone. (so make sure you have a good concealer) However, I love the finish! It gives me so dewy& glowy look. (think J.Lo!) I am a MAC NC 25 and 20 watts matches me perfectly. It looks really natural because the foundation mimics the natural reflective property of your skin. I have combo/dry flaky cheeks. This foundation doesn't accentuate the dry patches at all. (which is not common to come across for me) A few things to complain though. It will turn a little oily after a short period of time. (but a good blot powder could fix that) Nevertheless, I still really like it since it gives me such a natural look! Will repurchase again! UPDATE: after a month of usage, I have decided that this is my holy grail foundation! It makes my skin glow and smooth!(with no breakouts) My skin looks so beautiful whenever I use this. If you are thinking of trying MAC HyperReal, try this instead because it's a much nicer foundation. (smoother texture and more neutral colours)
