Lip Gloss -NARS - Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover

I got this in a Sephora Beauty Insider 500 point gift, and WOW. I'm always envious when I see women with the perfect MLBB, sort of "bee stung" subtle lip color, and this product does that for me. I can see this being my go-to every day lip color, whether I'm wearing other makeup or not, and would be great for evening with strong eye makeup.
The first thing I have to say is that this foundation runs a full shade light compared to Bobbi Brown's other foundations, at least in my shade. I'm a sand in every BB product I've tried and in this foundation, beige is my perfect match. With that said, I love the invisible coverage of this foundation. It looks like skin, just better and more even skin. The very liquidy texture takes some getting used to, but after that, I love it!
Count me among those surprised that this concealer doesn't get better ratings. I have tried just about every concealer out there, including some that are very expensive, and this one gives them all a run for their money. I wanted a concealer that I could use on eyelids and under eyes, as well as on blemishes or any discolorations that need full coverage. Well, this concealer definitely delivers. I use a tinted moisturizer to even out my skin, and this takes me the rest of the way to flawless by covering any imperfections. I'm fortunate to have found one of the two shades (the lighter one) that is a perfect match for my skin, but definitely hope Paula thinks about expanding her shade ranges for all of her products.
Tinted Moisturizer -Paula's Choice - Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20

I love this product. As many have said before, and as is pretty clear from the name, this is a sheer tint that is best used to even out skin tone. Because I like my skin to show through, I use this to even out my skin tone, then use Paula's concealer (another great product) on any areas that need additional coverage. I like the sheerness of it, because it really gives me more of a "perfect skin" look than a "nice makeup" look. Will definitely repurchase. As with many of Paula's products, I feel like my search is over.
Cleansers -Paula's Choice - RESIST- Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser
productjunkie33 5/13/2011 5:28:00 PM
This is an excellent cleanser. I have normal to dry skin that still tends to break out. This gets everything (including eye makeup) off my face without overdrying my skin. I think my search for my perfect cleanser is over.
Let me start by saying that I spent a lot of years as a Paula Begoun denier. There were products in her books that she didn't recommend that worked for me, and vice versa, and I definitely thought that she lost credibility once she started selling (and recommending) her own product line. I even sent an e-mail, letting her know that I didn't think it was possible to remain neutral when she was recommending her own products. Here's what changed my mind: I tried Paula's products. I was having some skin problems and had tried some things that hadn't worked for me. When I looked at Paula's reviews (after the fact), I agreed with the reasons that what I tried had not worked. I had a Paula's Choice gift card, which I used to try her RESIST skin lightening gel w/2% BHA. The change in my skin was almost immediate (I know this review belongs in the area for that particular product, so I'll get off it now). I finally saw why Paula insisted on recommending her own products. I have tried many products since then, including the entire RESIST line and some of her makeup products, and have found that every one of them does what it says it will do. Refreshing, considering the number of products that have gone back to the store or ended up in the trash because they actually made problems worse. For that reason, as well as the fact that Paula continues to recommend brands other than her own (no, I don't work for her even though I know that's kind of a mantra over there), although there is no financial reason for her to do so.
I finally got this palette after being on the waiting list for months. I was afraid that it wouldn't be worth the hype, but it really is. Since I received it, I haven't used any other eye shadows. The colors are fantastic- I can get whatever look I want for day or evening. If you're wondering if this palette is as good as it's hyped to be, the answer is a resounding YES!
Thankfully, I didn't have the horrible experiences others did with this product. It was easy to use and did make my hair more manageable and smooth. The reason I wouldn't buy it again is the god-awful smell. I had to shampoo twice almost immediately to get rid of it. What a waste if it only works for seven shampoos.
Misc Beauty Tools -Bliss Labs - Bliss Bikini Perfect Deluxe

I really like this product. I was buying a new Poetic waxing kit, which I love for my face, and I saw this and decided to try for my bikini line. The first thing I need to say is that I had laser hair removal a few years ago, and regrowth is limited, so I'm not using any of the attachments on a huge amount of hair. With that said, the epilator works great for any strays, and the trimmer attachments let me get a good trim and shape. I also love the eyebrow trimmer attachment. Made my brows super even without stressing out that I'm going to cut too much, the way I have on occasion with scissors.
Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Extra-Body Finishing Spray

I love this spray! I've been growing out my layers, and my hair is getting heavier and flatter as it gets closer to one length. I wanted something I could put on dry hair to give my roots some lift and this definitely fits the bill. I like that it holds, but you can still run your hands through your hair and there's absolutely no stickiness. Would definitely repurchase.
Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - illuminating bronzing powder
productjunkie33 6/23/2009 7:13:00 PM
I bought this after my beloved Nars Laguna dropped and shattered. I used the online chat and the artist recommended Antigua for me (BB sand, BE fairly light, MAC NC20ish). Forget Laguna- this is definitely my new HG bronzer. It's pinky bronze and gives me just a hint of a natural sunkissed glow. The shimmer is not at all overpowering or glittery; it's perfect. Will definitely repurchase!
This is my favorite Bare Minerals product. I'm pretty fair (between fair and fairly light in the foundation) and this is exactly the color of my skin. After my foundation, I dust it on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose to give a little glow. It's not sparkly; it just looks like skin. I also learned a trick from the sales associate in the BE store: Mix equal parts of flawless radiance, bisque and well rested to make a fantastic eye brightener and eye shadow base. I never want to be without this product again.
I recently had some time to kill in the airport, and I've been wanting to try a new fragrance, so I went over and started sniffing one out. The saleswoman recommended this one to me, and it smelled nice in the bottle, so I spritzed it on and went to wander for a while. After a few minutes, I was so intoxicated with my own scent that I returned and bought the 3 oz. size. The fruit notes are enough to keep the florals from being overpowering, and the amber warms it up just a touch. For me, it's just perfect.
Treatments -Burt's Bees - Doctor Burt's Res-Q Ointment
productjunkie33 8/14/2008 11:29:00 AM
I read about this product in Allure as being able to heal minor cuts and scrapes. I have a few old blemishes on my face that I can't seem to keep my hands away from, so they're not healing very well. Neosporin wasn't doing much, so I picked up a tin of this wonderful green stuff. I put a dab of it on one old blemish last night and covered it with a band-aid, and this morning, it's almost completely gone. I am SOLD!
If there were a rating higher than five lippies, this foundation would get it. I never would have tried a Sally Hansen product, but I really like Carmindy and read the reviews, so decided to give this one a try. In a word, PERFECTION. The finish is exactly like perfect skin and the shade I picked (ecru beige) is perfect for my NC20 complexion. I never thought I'd say this about a foundation, but I think my search is over.
