MmmHmm. This is one fine fragrance. I love it, but not as much as the Egoistes...this is still (*sigh*) dreamy & sensuous. He's got it anyway, but this certainly does do the trick, effortlessly in that very Chanel way. Manly, and earthy but clean (ie, not earthy-dirty [ick]). Sold. Again.

Pro-Smells a lot like L'Air du Temps, ie, like a Pretty, Feminine 100% Woman. Doesn't smell like you should eat it, or wear it if you're under 14. Doesn't smell butch, cheap, fake, nouveau riche, pedestrian, or like a man. Cons-No snob appeal. Cheap, for people who like to blow money.

Styling Products -Beyond The Zone - power lift

I have fine, thin shoulder-length hair. It gave me bouncy, soft but long-lasting hold in a climate that gets realllly humid. I always preferred Aveda (volumizing tonic or phomolliant[spelling?]) & Bumble & Bumble (styling lotion or spray & thickening spray), but am quite happily surprised by this Sally Beauty biz. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT LINE! It's so silly {or stupid?!] to be a Snob or Slave to Labels. Don't be duped, unless your main motive is the environment~*

Use this if you have fine, thin hair &/or want all-day hold in climates that can get pretty humid. I have always preferred Aveda & Bumble & Bumble, but am quite happily surprised by this Sally Beauty biz. Never in my wildest dreams...

Great Product! The color is good (medium beige). Long-lasting throughout the day. Nice, but very, very slight irredescence with a light hand. Terrific price; concentrated product. Just remember the general principles: swirl, tap-tap, etc. We actually prefer it over its Bare competitor.

This was a steal-$2 at a store closing. However, if I'd paid full price, I'd be disappointed. I KNOW I AM IN THE MINORITY HERE. However, I didn't learn anything I didn't know before about makeup application, literally. Beginners or heavy-handed people may certainly learn or be appreciative. My concerns, & I am clearly NOT missing the point: 1)Her models, professional and those simply sitting for the book, were generally quite gorgeous before ANY makeup in the photos. 2) This is QUITE unlike most of us in real life. 3)Most each had several exceptional features (big eyes, great teeth, terrific hair, perfect skin, fab bone structure, etc). 4)Nobody in the book looked ho-hum in their before pix, IMO. 5)I was not personally inspired by seeing how these women could look even better.**I DID ENJOY reading the mini interviews w/ magazine editors, some of the the DVD (though very repetetive), and Sonia's personality in general. 6)Her hair stylist isn't my favorite. I thought Sonia's hair was continually & forcefully butchered-looking (& yes, we have wiry, curly hair in my family), no matter how natural the style was...or how hot & humid it may have been at the photo shoots. 7)The less is more concept is correct to a point, but blanket statements like that are a big problem that can't be applied to everyone. 8)She took sooo long to put on what I thought was everyday makeup, even to illustrate; real-time examples would have been as effective, if not more so. I KNOW I AM IN THE MINORITY; THESE ARE MERELY OPINIONS. I KNOW SHE'S ALSO PROBABLY A SWEETHEART & A GENIUS w/ MAKEUP, A la KEVIN or WAY B.

As long as I use this once or twice every few days in winter, they don't get dry or tender at the corners of my mouth. Nope; very kissable 24-7.

I wish I remembered the name of the gloss I tried last week at Sephora. It was like the pretty berry-reddish color in the Sex Kitten palette, but didn't add a ton of color, just a ton a the best, glossiest shine - for HOURS. Will definitely buy next time I'm there!

Great! My Hair: Super Fine, Thin, Shorter, High- & Low-lights . What I Did: 1-2x/wk - Used a pea-to-dime size smidge on ends after shampooing & lightly patting dry; rinsed. 1-2x/wk - applied ~1-2 Tablespoons, avoiding scalp a bit, after patting dry w/ towel. Left w/ or w/out towel over, ~ 20 minutes, rinsed well a minute or two. A few times I could have lightly washed again after as one reader had recommended. Cheap! Lasting! Noticeable decrease in dry ends; better body over time.

Lotions/ Creams -Arbonne - NutriMin C Body Serum and Lotion

Incredible! For years, nothing at any price worked for my dry 40something skin, though it seems I've tried them all. They don't have chemicals that may actually harm your skin, & they aren't tested on animals. Excellent quality & concentration that really delivers. You get what you pay for with this wise investment.

This was fine, but nothing overly special to me. I definitely like it so much better than the original CH, however, which was never favorite. Only a SoSo floral blend on me.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Glamourous
rated 4 of 5
prisha 12/13/2005 12:58:00 PM

Just found this for $13 At Walgreen's, so I had to try it. I do like it for an everyday/night at home floral, though it's not the most glamorous scent I've found. It didn't totally knock me out, either, but that's OK. So many fragrances, but only so many days in the week. A few random, unsolicited compliments, but not a ton.

Skincare - Face -Arbonne - NutriminC RE9 Entire line [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
prisha 12/13/2005 12:49:00 PM

Absolutely awesome system with virtually all natural product formulation (I don't worry about a % of this or that; it beats what I was putting on before, and they were mostly premium quality cosmetics & skin care). I was really skeptical, but this line rocks. Little lines are actually diminishing, which I really did not anticipate in the least. My Rx for random excema flareups can't hold a candle to this line relative to speed & efficacy. Excellent consistency, concentration, & results. Just divine, & the price is comparable to, if not better than, any true competitors. Really very impressed, & that's not something that happens much with me.

Palettes -Lauren Hutton - Passport to Africa
rated 5 of 5
prisha 12/13/2005 12:39:00 PM

Great kit overall (I bought the Medium; am just moderately fair w/ Irish, Swedish, & a little French lineage). Concealer - So few palettes have concealer, & though it's not the best coverage, adding a smidge will help tremendously. Excellent range of colors. One of the pans fell out, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Mascara - a pleasant surprise! Terrific for getting even the teeniest little lashes without the Bride of Frankenstein look. I also keep a thin liner brush w/ the Mascara in its elastic band. Lips - nice colors, but the gloss isn't as glossy as I'd like. The powders are fine, though they must be used sparingly. Blush - super-concentrated. Be careful! Good makeup tips on cute photo cards of Lauren & pals in the wild. The worst for me: the cards are so ridulously written, I can't imagine anyone over 12 using such poor sentence structure & punctuation. Honestly, it is almost hard to follow, it's so bad. It's unfathomable to think someone was actually paid to write its text. However, my daughter & I were in stiches, laughing our heads off as we read the cards; we couldn't help it. We just couldn't believe how truly awful the writing was.

Fragrances -Vera Wang - Vera Wang
rated 5 of 5
prisha 12/13/2005 12:20:00 PM

Very pretty, modern, floral, lasting, concentrated, sexy, but understated. I really enjoy it. A tie for my husband's all-time favorite, along with No.5. OMG! It's incredible; they are elixers of love, I swear, & I have owned 100s of fragrances. I like that it's a little unique - but not too, sophisticated, but easy for casual daytime wear or night. The bottle's a bit big, but who really cares?
