I was sorely disappointed in this product. I figured that I would save seven bucks and get this instead of the Essie crystal file. I should have just waited. This one worked fine at first, but then the edges wore away. That's right. All of the grit smoothed down to nearly polished glass. Weird. Tossed it.
I have the lemongrass scent and it is very pretty and true smelling. That said, however, it doesn't really work as a deodorant for me. I like the idea of natural products, but this one I can pretty much only use for short periods of time, e.g. going to yoga practice if I'm going to shower afterwards. Nice try, but I'll stick with my Fresh antiperspirant, even if that does cost an arm and a leg.
Lipstick -L'Oreal - Infallible Never Fail Lipstick

This stuff *is* amazing. I wore Maybelline Superstay for a while, but it does not compare to the consistency and longevity of Infallible. Even without the gloss, it is a great lipcolor and not too drying. ps. Target Red is a super fun bright red shade. Check it out!
Luckily, my insurance covers this. Additionally, I cleared my deductible so the last few tubes were free! Yay! I had been using .05% cream in conjunction with Spironolactone, Yasmin, and Klaron (topical sulfur w/no smell) for adult cystic acne. It is a fabulous combination for me and if you can tolerate hormonal birth control, I highly recommend all the products together. My skin has never been smoother. Recently, I have tried upgrading to .1% as a wrinkle-preventor, but it has been a bit difficult. I've been getting a lot more redness and dryness. Guess I shouldn't have started in the middle of winter! However, I've been alternating with my .05% and that has helped.
I love red lipstick. I am pale with short black hair. How could I refuse NYX's Snow White?! Creamy and highly pigmented, this is one of the best colors of red lipstick that I have ever found. I highly recommend it!
Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - L de Lolita Lempicka

Love love love! I was a die-hard Angel fan for years. It used to dry down to a sexy, warm fragrance. Then, for unknown reasons (bcp?) it stopped showing up on me. I tried the regular Lolita Lempicka and like it, but L was a godsend. Doesn't smell too sweet or foody on me and lasts very well! Yay!
I like to try new moisturizers, but always seem to come back to this one. It never stings my tazorac-sensitized face and has a great consistency. I think I'd prefer a pump bottle, but that isn't exactly a dealbreaker on a product this reliable. I've never broken out from it and it has a decent spf for daily use. When I'm chapped from the evil Boston wind I have to use something a bit heavier, but I still haven't found anything I like better than this for everyday/night.
I'm with sanpe. I wish I hadn't ditched my Revlon for this one. After all the hype, it doesn't curl nearly as evenly or as roundly as my old one did. Boo!
Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20

I really wanted to like this foundation! The formula is pretty nice if you don't put too much on. I used a stippling brush for best results. Overapplying made my pores look huge. The finish and consistency were decent and I got a fair amount of coverage. The colors, however, didn't work for me. I started with Blushing Ivory, but that was too pink. Then I tried Soft Gold: too dark and yellow. Then I tried mixing them: not awful, but still too dark. Alas. Looks like I'll stick with Virtual Skin (cream 02) for now.
This smooths out and lightens the skin under my eyes. Not much in the way of a moisturizer, but it definitely brightens. Love the package and I'm a sucker for a nice looking bottle, but I'd rather try something else than get this again. Not bad, but not HG material.
Nice scent and decent packaging, but this did NOT last on my lips! Maybe I'm spoiled by L'oreal's Infallible Lipgloss, but this was a big disappointment. I just tossed it.
I wondered what all the fuss was about and so I sucked it up and paid my $27. Wowzers. It lives up to its name. *sigh* The joy of afterglow. My husband loves it
Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose (Divine Lasting Curves)
principia 11/10/2008 10:36:00 PM
I strongly disliked this mascara. I need curl, so it seemed like the natural choice, however, it made my lashes straighter than ever, even with my curler. Mystifying! I exchanged it for plain ol' Definicils, which is not my absolute fave ever, but definitely better than Virtuose. I got a sample later on in a GWP and tried it again. Nope. Same results.
I, too, am using Yasmin (generic), + spironolactone, + Tazorac (with some Klaron during the day) and have had phenomenal results! I was having strange cystic breakouts and generally rough skin. This combo was a lifesaver for me! I just switched up to 1% taz and its a bit drying, but altogether a great system.
Toners -Thayers - Rose Petal Alcohol Free Witch Hazel

Love love love this stuff! I have oily skin and this effectively clears away excess grease without leaving my skin raw or dry. It always feels so smooth afterward. Also good as a pillow spray! The peach version is ok as well, but the lavender broke me out.
