Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15

After using this foundation since it came out, I am finally going to write a review but am also going to tell you how I use it. At first, when it came out I initially used it for a wee, and returned it as it slid off my face and did not last even with a primer and powder. So, I had the opportunity to swap for two colors to mix and I got better results. I used both sand and warm ivory and it really made my skin look glowy and beautiful blurred and just like better skin but still it did not last and I decided to try MAC prolongwear. This by itself too was not perfect but one day I got the bright idea to 50/50 these and TaDa, HG! I had perfect looking skin with long lasting coverage for my oily, combo skin. I keep going back to this and on some days even on it's own. It is pricey but does last esp if you do the way I do.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
rated 3 of 5
princess_jess73 11/10/2012 12:17:00 PM

Oh how I wanted to love this product. At first it made my skin look glowy, blurred imperfections and overall improved look of my skin and after an hour or two it still looked really good and melted into my skin but after that... well, it just melted. I looked oily and my pores looked humoungous even after using pore professional by BeneFit. Also, I am pretty fair and the BeneFit rep matched me in Money honey powder and foundation which was too yellow but did even out some. However, I do have a difficult time matching foundation and in the winter I am an NC15 in MAC prolongwear, Warm Ivory to sand in BB, Summer NC20 to NW 20. I have tried ALOT of foundations probably most on the market and this is definately not for oily or combo girls and any dryness on the skin needs to be exfoliated or it will show up. I soooooo wanted to like this.

Blush -MAC - Cremeblend blush in Florida
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 2/28/2010 1:57:00 AM

Love the cremeblend formula--like a cream to powder formulation. Blends flawlessless into the skin with minimal effort. I do prefer so sweet so easy but this is an awesome blush to have. It is a bright cool toned pink in the pan but is very sheer when brushed and swirled onto cheeks. It is very buildable: watch out but is very suiting to prob most complexions. It catches far less lint than my so sweet so easy, but again I don't use as much. Very fuschia but very very pretty!

Blush -MAC - So Sweet, So Easy
rated 4 of 5
princess_jess73 2/28/2010 1:53:00 AM

MAC's new cremeblends are amazing. For an oily gal like me, they blend flawlessly w/o getting slippery or gliding off. Like some have said, it is more like a creme to powder finish. This particular color "so sweet so easy" is a slight pale peachy pink reminding me of Narcisse JC and Carmindy's blush can't remember the name. This is very sheer but I dont' have to build and build the color up like I did narcisse (gasp which I swapped) and didn't slip (like the carmindy and I ROAKed). I did swap for the pearl matte powder with the peachy pink to enhance the color but I prefer without. Frankly this is what I really wanted Narcisse to be. I do not like, however, that it attrats lint and bristles from my skunk brush and is very hard to keep very clean.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - jessica simpson FANCY LOVE 2009

Ever since this came out, I have longed for this. The smell is unusual for me, almost a little musky with slight citris notes and not sweet at all on me. Most of the time it smells fresh and clean. I wear this to work, yes a nurse and shouldn't but moving and shaking all day, a little squirt keeps me smelling fresh without overpowering. I have had numerous people tell me I smell good including docs, co workers, patients and even my brother-in-laws and my husband. I asked if it was overpowering or irritating and they all told me no way! They just loved it. This fragrance works for me. I wear it nearly every day. I have prob ten fragrances and four are new including regular fancy--which is ok, Ed hardy love and luck and twighlight and I just seem to gravitate toward this and makes me feel clean and good.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - PhotoReady Powder
rated 4 of 5
princess_jess73 2/28/2010 1:42:00 AM

First of all. this powder is very very good at making foundation last and provides a flawless photo ready pic, that said, the quality of packaging and formula make it difficult to decide if I would repurchase. I find that this product is much like my MAC MSFN powder but of less quality and much much less product even though the MAC is 2x the price. I barely laid this down and it cracked and I am already getting soooo much wear in the pan and have only had for two weeks or so. It is finely milled but such a soft powder that this should have been made loose. I am NW20 and wear vanilla in the foundation so I choose the fair powder and looks very very good. If it does break though, I guess I will be forced to purchase a sifter jar and crumble it in there.

It is about time I wrote a review. I think I have finally found a HG foundation and believe me folks, I have tried everything! I had really liked Shu Uemura's architect foundation but found that it wasn't lasting long: meaning took alot to cover and at less tahn an ounce was very expensive. I liked the look of HD but found it was hard for me to find a color match and I broke out horribly as well as MAC, NARS, Clinique. Lancome, Este etc etc. Same story: bad color match and breakouts. So desperately was looking for a new found and saw commercials about this and MUA raves. Love at first test. Now at first I bought 003 shell and found it to be a bit pink. Loved everyting else about it. Loved the very controllable pump, a little goes a long way. controls oil while looking fresh, covers well enough to not use a concealor: for me anyway and was very inexpensive with BOGO's and coupons. I went to another store and found vanilla and thought it was going to be too light on my NW20ish neutral skin but perfect match! I also bought nude 004 and it will look great for summer. I really think these are forgiving. I rec'd them to an older lady at work and she wears shell and is obviously more warm than me and she looked absolutely fabulous. I do not see any glimmer or glitter, just a hint of shimmer and does not glow in the dark or shout disco queen. I am soooo impressed I now have four bottles.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Powder Blush in Pale Pink
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 11/16/2009 12:39:00 AM

For Reference NW20ish leaning more toward neutral. Bright almost highlighter matte pink in the pan but a gorgeous healthy glow on pale skin but could very well also work well with darker tones for a nice glow from within. I put this in the blush catergory with NARS Dolce Vita and Exhibit A where I think anyone can wear this. It is also much like Tippy beauty powder blush from Hello Kitty and somewhat like Dollymix but think that the latter tends to be slightly warmer. This is totally matte and does look great paired with a bronzer to sculpt the cheeks and I believe it has been sold this way. I wish I had gotten the rouge pot. I think that is diff than the blush itself, not as bright and almost a ballet pink.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 11/16/2009 12:34:00 AM

I am so drawn to bright blushes and I kept swatching this and I am glad I bought it.I said I would buy again but I don't think I would ever use up a nars blush unless I used the same one for 5 year straight. I love love this blush and I honestly think it could look beautiful on anyone. It is a perfect rosy red flush--cold from the snow, (excercising if you don't get ALL red like me, windblown etc.) I am a ppp for ref NW20ish that leans more toward neutral. The tiniest amount popped on by a skunk and blended into the apples and whola--a nice perfect flush. Now I wouldn't use this with cooler colors. I like wearing this alone with a bit of mascara, black liner and clear gloss or for a pinup look with winged liner, neutral eyes and a red lip.

Blush -NARS - Dolce Vita

princess_jess73 11/16/2009 12:28:00 AM

I have pondered buying this blush for a looong time and finally took the plunge. I agree with most users below that it is a dusty brick rose, highly pigmented almost velvet matte which I have grown to love. I have NW20ish skin that leads more toward neutral and likes warm tones as opposed to pale and this sculptures my cheekbones like no other no matter how I place it (I liked the reviewer that said aka eva longoria). I have gotten many many compliments when I wear this blush and I just got it this week. If I could keep only five blushes it would def be in the five. I think it could compliment nearly everyone--as exhibit A does if used correctly-much more than say orgasm that just didn't do it for me either-as another reviewer below has said. Stippled with a skunk it is more of a lighter "glow" suitable for pale complex and then lightly contour under the cheek bones. On darker complex it could give a very natural flush. I do like the stronger look on me even though I am a ppp.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - Super Matte Loose Powder
rated 1 of 5
princess_jess73 8/2/2009 2:18:00 AM

I so wanted to love this. I put it on in the store and seemed to perfect my face. I proceeded to buy and swap for an additonal jar. I normally am not disappointed in MUFE's products but this was definately one of them. It did nothing for oil control at all. After a week of use I also realized this has been clogging my pores and I have four new zits.I have had better luck with any of the powders I have tried including: Becca, MAC, Origins, Clinique, even CG but this was the absolute worse. The sifter jar is horrible and powder gets everywhere and wastes large amounts if the jar is shifted at all. The powder puff is supposed to help with applying and "press" into skin, but seems to work no better than my brush and far less sanitary. It helps keep my mu on for about one hour, Most of my other powders helpf for at least half of a day. I even used primer and several foundations but nothing worked. Back it went today.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Liquid Liner in Smog
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 8/2/2009 2:13:00 AM

I normally do not buy many UD products since they have alot of glitter or fallout with es but as a Beauty Insider price break at the counter, I could not resist for 8 dollars. The liner itself looks olive/brown/gold on me with shimmer and brings out my brown eyes beautifully. I too do not wear brown e/l anymore since it is usually BLAH on me. It is also a very smooth liner and goes on with minimal effort. The aplicator is ok but I would really like a place to wipe excess off. This can go with so many looks. I tried it out tonight with the NARS modern love palette with the highlight/habanera/brown color and it looks spectacular. What a surprise buy.

Palettes -NARS - 9950 Modern Love Palette
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 8/2/2009 2:08:00 AM

I can't say enough about this palette. I could barely get my hands on it since it was sold out at Nordies 45 min away or so then finally they got some in and they were all gone the next day. Anyway, The shadows in this palette are so buttery and shimmery and great quality. I normally don't buy palettes with black in it since I really don't use black but I could not resist the other shadows. There are so many combos with this and I really don't need much else. I am a more neutral tone than pink or yellow and I feel these colors would suit ladies of both but more suitable for someone warmer or neutral. The two top colors are sort of coppery based but habanera-the deep plum and the white are cooler. It does have shimmer--but not glitter and I have worn these with and without primer and are great either way, however, I do get a little creasing w/o primer due to my slightly hooded eyes. The dark brown color goes with any of the shadows to "smoke it out" as well as would the black so it is great for day or evening looks although I wear this to work even with the brown. I have gotten many compliments thus far and if I could I definately would repurchase.

Mascara -Origins - Underwear for Lashes
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 7/31/2009 10:16:00 PM

Wow. I am surprised by the hot and cold reviews of this. I bought this before in a set with the origins mascara and I absolutely loved it. It was especially good for sensitive eyes. Usually if I get anything in my eyes it burns and turns very red. Not the case with this. A little with the mascara when I wear on its own but the base it great with any mascara. The wand is great for all over coating and hard to reach areas and a tube lasts a very very long time. Well worth the price kind a of a mid priced product compared to all the other primers out there and will definately buy again. Yes I do have long lashes already but these make them look unbelivably awesome!

Conditioner -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Conditioner [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
princess_jess73 7/16/2009 2:16:00 AM

I love love love this. After a week of using on my fine yet thick curly damaged hair, it is so soft and shiny! While it is expensive, I have yet to find a conditioner that really delivers like this one. I tried using the shampoo but it wasn't all that. I hated my bumble and bumble shampoo and co but now I use this with the B and B coconut shampoo and works wonderfully. It has also calmed down any itchiness on the scalp. I wish it were a bigger bottle for the price and also wish it had a pump. However, I was using the midollo di bamboo from alfaparf and it was only 8 oz I believe and same price so I get twice the product and far better results! Definately repurchasing. Also use it mixed in with the Oscar blandi marine mud treatment mixed in (just a dimesize) and result is luxurious hair!
