Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls
princess2010 8/27/2012 11:27:00 PM
I LOVE Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls! I ordered the free samples from the website and also received them in my Birchbox this month. Between the samples I have been using this product about a month. I have medium size natural curls that can be frizzy and dry. Pillow Curls make them springy and not frizzy. A little goes a long way. It doesn't make my hair crunchy at all! It does smell a bit like fabric softener but that's a PLUS for me because I adore that scent! I've been looking forever to find a holy grail hair styling cream and I think I've finally found it with this product. My only con is that I wish it were cheaper, but it's worth it for frizz free curls.
BB Cream -Skin79 - Vital BB Cream SPF50++ Hot Orange Label
princess2010 5/2/2012 9:37:00 AM
This is one of the best BB creams I've used and I've used quite a few. It's really amazing. It comes in one color but works for a wide variety of skin tones. It comes out thick but feels airy on the skin. It's best for oily and combo skin. If you have dry skin check out the Skin79 Super Beblesh Gold Label. Here's a testimonial for this BB cream. I have a chemical burn on my face and this BB cream completely covers it up and you can't see the horrible red skin. I've been using it for about a month and have had no break outs. It goes on more matte than some of the other BB creams and I would say it has medium to full coverage because right now with no concealer it's covering horrible red splotches on my face. Love, love, love it and will definitely repurchase.
Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow BlackOut Waterproof
princess2010 4/15/2012 3:11:00 PM
This is my current HG mascara. I've tried several since getting it and can't find one that matches it's performance. This mascara creates dramatic lashes. It volumizes really well and lengthens. The packaging is sturdy and a large tube with a nice big wand. I almost didn't buy this because I had purchased one of those sample packs of Dior Iconic and Diorshow at Sephora with two little tubes. Those mascaras were so awful. They were dry and I think maybe a little old. Then I decided to give the full size BlackOut a try and I'm so glad I did. It's expensive but it lasts a while since it's such a big tube.
BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++
princess2010 4/8/2012 9:59:00 AM
I have tried several BB creams but this is the one that makes my skin look the best. MISSHA Perfect Cover is good too, but this one gives my skin a luminous finish. I did a side by side comparison with the Signature Complete and Perfect Cover and the Signature looked better. Then I did a comparison with Skin79's Orange bottle and this one also won out. I use #23 and find it blends well. It's not as thick as Perfect Cover or Skin79 so it's easier to blend. I consider it a medium coverage. I have acne prone skin and it hasn't broken me out yet. I've been using it around a month. Highly recommend this BB cream for anyone who needs a hypoallergenic one or wants to try a bb cream in general. It's better than any foundation I've ever used.
Conditioner -LUSH - R&B Revive & Balance Hair Moisturizer
princess2010 4/1/2012 10:17:00 PM
This might be my favorite hair product ever! I've been using it for a year so I know how this product performs. It is meant to be applied to damp hair or dry hair. I use it as soon as I get out of the shower on my dry, long, curly hair. It makes my curls perfect and shiny. Seriously good stuff! I used to have to curl some of my hair with a curling iron after it dried, since using R&B I have not had to use a curling iron in over a year. It helps my curls be more defined and completely frizz free. It's a HG product for me and I suggested it for my mom and sister and it's a HG for them too now. If you have fine hair it's probably not the product for you. It would be too heavy. A little bit goes a long way with this product. I think the smell is heavenly and wish LUSH would make a whole line of products that smell like R&B.
This is my HG conditioner along with LUSH's Retread. I rotate them. Jungle has been my go too for a few years now. I adore the smell so much. I have long, dry, curly hair that is VERY thick. This really helps tame my curls and make them shiny and defined. Here's my tip though. I take an old LUSH container or you can use a small rubbermaid container and I cut half the jungle bar up in chucks then add boiling hot water up to the top. I stir it around and let it sit overnight. In the morning it's an awesome cream conditioner that's easy to apply. You shouldn't make a huge container of it since there aren't preservatives in the product. I try to make sure I have several bars of Jungle on hand at all times. I would hate to ever be without it so I pray LUSH never discontinues it!
Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Luxury Facial Flannel
princess2010 3/30/2012 9:56:00 AM
I had to write a review for this product because I'm in LOVE with it! Every night and morning I wash my face with a wash cloth. It never dries and sits by the sink wet. Even though I wring it out and wash it, it just feels like it's growing bacteria or something. I found this cloth at The Body Shop and had to try it. I'm glad I did because I could not be more pleased! It's very soft and takes off all your makeup without a lot of scrubbing and then it dries within a few hours completely. I did not find it overly exfoliating as some have. It dries stiff as a board and then when you re-wet it gets soft again. As others have said it does stain, but if you put some hand soap on it and swish it around most of the stains will come out. I highly recommend this and plan on using them as long as The Body Shop makes them. I paid $6 I believe and it's worth every penny to get rid of those wet washcloths.
I was dying to try this mascara so I was very disappointed when it didn't work out for me. I can't say enough how much I hate this mascara. I paid about $24 for the tube and it did nothing for my lashes. It actually made them look shorter than they are! What mascara does that?! I put the Blinc on one eye and the Maybelline Illegal Lengths with fiber on the other eye and there was no contest. The cheap $8 mascara won hands down. Not only does the Blinc not lengthen, it doesn't add volume, and doesn't hold curl. All it does is make the lashes black and is very easy and even fun to take off. I would never repurchase this product and will probably never even use the tube I have.
This is my holy grail conditioner. I've been using it for about 1.5 years and I love it. I've tried to take it out of my routine because it's quite expensive but my hair always looks terrible and I go back to it immediately! I order from the UK because it's so much cheaper than the US LUSH. I have medium long/thick/dark/dry/curly hair. It smooths it out and makes really nice frizz free curls. It has a slight smell but it's very mild and doesn't stay in your hair. I love it!
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
princess2010 3/27/2012 5:10:00 PM
This is THE best mask! It works! The packaging says it pulsates and it's not lying. You can actually feel your face pulsating. This mask has actually brought pimples to a head that I didn't even know I had! It helps cystic acne heal faster and cleans out pores. I highly recommend it! You mix it with equal parts apple cider vinegar and mask. I spread it on with a fan brush then let it sit and pulsate. When it comes time to take it off it's best to put a warm cloth on your face and loosen it up. Your face will be red when it comes off but that's normal and will go away. I use it once a week unless I have spots I need to go away faster. You can spot treat with it too and just put it over a pimple or cyst instead of your whole face. The mask is pretty inexpensive and lasts FOREVER! Several of my friends have this mask and we all love it.
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - Cherry Tart
princess2010 3/27/2012 10:13:00 AM
I love Revlon Lip Butter in Cherry Tart. It really is the perfect red for me. I've looked long and hard and finally found a wearable red in this product. You can make it as dark or light as you wish. I like to just give it a swipe and its a sheer red and not very dark. If you want it dark you just apply with a heavier hand. It's the only red I've ever found that I can wear in the day and not look like I'm trying too hard. It feels good on the lips, not sticky and there is no noticeable smell for me. The packaging is okay. Nothing fancy but not too cheap and flimsy. The price is right too. I also own a pink shade of the lip butter but I keep going back to use Cherry Tart everyday. This color is perfect for those with cool undertones looking for an everyday red.
Loose Powders -Palladio - Rice Powder Loose Natural
princess2010 3/24/2012 9:44:00 AM
This is my HG powder. I have been using it for over a year and have purchased several containers. I love how fine the powder is. It goes on great and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. The holes in the container are big so a lot of powder can come out if you set it on it's side or put it upside down. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars for packaging. An easy fix would be to tape up some holes. It's not that big of a deal really. I have fair-medium skin depending on the season and I find the Natural to be perfect for me. I haven't even considered buying another powder since finding Palladio Rice Powder.
I absolutely love visiting LUSH stores. It's a special treat since I live about an hour and a half from one. The store I frequent is small or I would give it a 5 rating. It's clean and smells amazing. The sales staff is always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in the products. I love the displays and how you can pick up testers to smell and try them out. My store has never batted an eyelash at giving me samples of products I want to try out before doling out big money on it. LUSH can be expensive but I have several HG products from there like Trichomania, R&B, Jungle, Soap of Sultana, and a few others. I will absolutely visit a LUSH store anytime I can!!!
Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
princess2010 3/19/2012 9:52:00 PM
This is THE best cheap mascara you can buy. I bought it because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint. It was $1.99 at Walgreens where I purchased it. The packaging is nothing special, just black with purple writing. I didn't expect much for that price. The wand is nice and the mascara formula is really good. It makes my lashes really long and volumizes nicely. I did not experience any flaking whatsoever. The only color is black and it's perfect. Really, really black. The only reason I took off a lippie is because sometimes it clumps and I have to use my Dior Iconic wand to separate them. Jordana works as well as mascaras that cost 20 times more! Update: I'm now on my second tube. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars because I have tried several mascaras lately and they are just not up to par with Jordana. This is just as good as more expensive mascaras.
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner (864) Amethyst
princess2010 3/19/2012 6:49:00 PM
I bought the Amethyst hoping it was fantastic because I love the price point but it just wasn't. It was very thin and watery. It was hard to get the color even because when you swiped it across the eyelid it took off what was on there and left streaks. The price is fantastic and the packaging is just fine but the formula of the eyeliner is not good. I would pay more and get the Revlon Colorstay which has never disappointed me.
