Masks -Unlisted Brand - Oatmeal

low price, easily found at any store, but makes my skin itch and break out with hives. I should have looked at the less glorious reviews first before pouring these stuff on my skin. I got too excited reading all the great reviews here without doing a small skin test first. I bought pure 100% organic oats with no additives of any sort . I should have never experimented with this junk especially right before a wedding. It took a good 3-5 days to clear up and messed up wedding photos.

Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Eyeshadow in Mystic Night
prettypopy 11/4/2007 8:37:00 PM
I am not a fan of many mineral eye shadows because they tend to be overly drying for my eyes. They drip, they fade, and they do not last. This one look really exotic! After I apply it on it was like "WOW!". I can't describe how beautiful it is in many words except for that. The color is very concentrated so I don't have to dab a bucket full to get to smokey effect. Use it wet as a liquid liner and it brings out all the glory I never knew my eyes had. It's a dark slight shimmery intense plum violet color mix with a hint of blushy color. For my fair light complexion, it is a perfect match. The color stays on all day which is rare on my oily complexion. I love this shadow and it is my fav everyday liner.

Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Morocco Eye Shadow
prettypopy 11/4/2007 8:27:00 PM
I give this product a 4 instead of a 5 because it does not flatter my fair complexion. It made my eyes look dull. Other than that, I still think that it is one of EM's better eye shadow for people with warmer skin tones. This is one of the few highly pigmented mineral shadow I tried on the market. The others tend to smudge, smear, fade, skip, or simply dry out my eyes. I think it is better to use it wet as a liquid liner.

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Mango and Coco Butter Lotion
prettypopy 9/30/2007 10:12:00 AM
I am glad I saw this review on MUA. For the price Mango Coco Buter Lotion is better than many expensive brands out there. More plus, the portion is very very generous. Moisturizing is wonderful to the touch and the senses. What more can I ask for? My pocket won't get burned either. Thanks ladies on MUA for my discovery of this hidden treasure!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - activated charcoal
prettypopy 9/30/2007 9:59:00 AM
Ladies, if you are looking for something that will pull out those plugged pores without having to have your pores professionally extracted, then this product might be right for you. The plus thing about this charcoal is that it is the most thorough pore cleanser I have ever experienced. It detox the skin like no other substance. Activated carbons are used are water filters so you can image how much cleansing you will get. Plus it is extremely gentle. Your skin won't be inflammed. After I wash it off, i can feel plugged pores coming out of their shells! The downside. It is very very messy using charcoal. It stains the sink. What's worse is that if you have very very oily skin with large pores, the charcoals might lodge in your pores and you have to spend more time getting them out. I love the result with charcoal, but I hate the mess that I have to deal with. So I only use it once in a while. Sometimes I mix it with other mask to lighten up charcoal stains on my nose. Charcoal has been documented to draw out poison from snake bites, so imagine how much detoxing your skin is going through.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
prettypopy 9/30/2007 9:52:00 AM
I have to admit that I love low priced great result products. And this minty masque is one of it. I can't use it all over my face because it can be quite drying. But for spot blemish treatment, I adore this mask. It has zinc which helps to keep bacterias under control. Mint to rejuvinate the skin. Clay to draw out toxins, oils, and impurities. I don't know how they make money selling this brand for such a low low price. I guess they go by number. That is probably their key to success with this brand. Can't live without when my skin gets oily.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - cucumber mask
prettypopy 9/30/2007 9:46:00 AM
This vegetable has been used as natural beauty care for women for centuries. It is so so cheap, completely natural, and keep my combination area soft and smooth without clogging the pores. No wonder I always see people putting cucumber on their eyes. The effect is very cool, firming, toned, smooth, highly drenched in water baby soft skin. I love it for oil control. After a week of regular use, my pores decrease in size. Imperfections seem to fade. At a price of less than a buck for a cucumber that lasts for a week (when kept in refrigerator), why not give it a try. My mom recommend it to me. It was her HG mask.

Concealers -Unlisted Brand - West Coast Minerals
prettypopy 9/30/2007 9:37:00 AM
I was browsing on Ebay for a concealer (hopefully an affordable one). I can't afford to get my pocket burned any more by expensive makeup that are of no use to me. What really set this company apart from the other mineral companies is that my order will be custom made to my liking. I mentioned to her that my skin could only tolerate mica, zinc, titanium, and a few natural color like iron oxide. I requested for a lighter shade than offered because mineral makeup tend to look too dark on my skin. some change color. The service was unbelievable. She even was willing to change the opacity and consistency of the cosmetic for more or less coverage than I would like. So far, I have not found any other mineral makeup company going the extra miles for their client. The price is pretty reasonable. Less than $10.00/jar.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
prettypopy 9/30/2007 2:37:00 AM
My aunt with dry skin loved this stuff and she recommend it to me. On my combination skin, it just didn't do a good job with cleaning. I just don't feel clean afterward. At least I didn't break out from it. It did feel kind of heavy on my skin like some residue was left behind.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Whole Foods 365 Lavender Shampoo
prettypopy 9/30/2007 2:29:00 AM
For years I always have problem with the "right" shampoo for me. My hair is thick, long, with dry ends, but oily scalp. I needed something that would give moisture to my hair without weighing it down. All of the shampoos that give my hair softness tend to cause drandruff, itchiness, or weigh my hair down. I end up looking puffy headed. Flat at the top and puffy at the bottom. The worst look possible! 365 lavender shampoo only cost me $1.99 for 15 ounces at Whole Foods. It cleans my scalp very well withoutt drying my long hair. No itchiness, no flakiness, no drandruff. And my hair doesn't get that greasy residue either. I noticed that my hair has gotten softer the longer I use it. I love my hair now and thank to 365. The formulation is very simple with out a whole lot of toxic additives like the other brands. It is pleasantly lightly scented with lavender. Nothing intoxicating. I don't need to blow dry or add any other hair product afterward. Great find for the price :)

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche red wine
prettypopy 9/30/2007 2:21:00 AM
Nothing is more thrilling than stumbling on a great find for a cheap price. I paid only $7.00 for this gorgeous versatile wine color lipstick. Applies smoothly. Stays softly. Conditions wonderfully. I didn't even need a lip conditioner because it moisturizes so well. The color is great for fall. Subtley sexy and mildly seductive. Initially it looks like a lipstick, but as the day wears on, it looks like a nice natural faint color lipstain. It's not a gross brick red, or neon pink. It has an earthy tone to it. Not shimmered. Slightly glossy but not gooey wet fake sticky look. Very comfortable to wear. I am throwing away all my other lipsticks for this one.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
prettypopy 9/30/2007 2:08:00 AM
I initally did not like this product because it was too strong for my skin. But I finally figure out the right dilution. I added some cucumber, water, and moisturizer so that it is much milder. I use it once in a while in conjunct to aspirin mask. It nicely exfoliates the outer layer of skin leaving baby soft skin to the touch. I have a hard time with the vinegar smell. But other than that, it is a fairly good product reasonably priced, and natural for the skin. This bottle lasts forever. I still have it in my cabinet and it has been over a year!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
prettypopy 9/30/2007 2:02:00 AM
aspirin mask by itself does not do much for me except drying my skin out. But when mixed with any type of moisturizer to form a mask, oh boy, I get heavenly skin! Glowing, peachy, pink, soft , baby fresh skin. It tightens the pores, and kill bacteria. the result is nice clear skin. For the price, no other skin mask can match. When my skin get oily, I mix it with less moisturizers. When my skin is dry, I simply add more moisturizer. I use it about twice a week, leaving on for about 10 minutes. A God sent miracle or such a low low price. I bought uncoated aspirin at target for $3.00 a bottle. I have MUA friends to thank for such a miraculous product.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nordic Natural fish oil pill omega 3
prettypopy 9/30/2007 1:51:00 AM
This fish oil is supposed to be the "higher" quality fish oil being mollecularly distilled at "suposedly" lower temperature, fewer chemicals during processing. Advertised as being free of lead , mercury, heavy metal, dioxins, PCB, etc. Supposely high quality from clean water? Sadly, I broke out severely taking these fishy oil. I might be allergic to fish oil? But I have no problem what so ever eating fish, shellfish, seafoods, shrimps, sushi, etc. I am not a fish oil business owner, an expert on fish oil, nor am I into multilevel marketing on fish oil. I cannot in my right conscience advocate something that caused severe breakout for me, especially for someone who is acne prone. That's just cruel. Although I am aware of the many benefits fish oil have on health, according to cyber articles, I can only share my own personal experience and not the experience of others. I am not a Fish Worhsipper that see it as something that can do no wrong. Nor will I do hand stand jumping up and down on the band wagon cheerleading rah rah rah when I get hit by a brick wall. The oil just does not work out for me. i am giving it to my dog instead. Maybe it might help her with her eczema? I am still waiting for that result. Her fur is so thick, I can't even tell if the dermatitis is still there are not. She is still doing the itchy and scratchy show. Maybe it's fleas? who knows. I will not take any more fish oil. Here are some informations on the pro and cons of fish oils: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_oil If you are planning to take fish oil make sure your brand is safe from toxin.
