Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
prettygirl22 5/13/2013 11:35:00 PM
I heavily researched the Naked Basic Palette as I wanted a natural look for work. This was my first purchase of an eyeshadow palette from Sephora and at $32CAN I thought it was one of the more reasonably priced ones. I was excited to get this palette as I saw so many positive reviews on it. However, this palette just didn't cut it for me. I am very fair skinned and these colours did not show up on me at all! I liked the crave for eyeliner and the venus as a highligher but the other four colours looked horrible on me and washed me out. They didn't even last throughout the day! (mind you I didn't use a primer). I really wanted to like this palette but unfortunately I'm bringing it back tomorrow. Again, the colours were too yellowish and washed me out. One positive was the packaging- it had a mirror and appeared good for travelling. I may exchange for the Sephora moonshadow baked palette- In the Nude, as these colours seem more lively for my skin tone. This palette may work for others but it sadly didn't for me:(

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in R.S.V.P.
prettygirl22 5/6/2013 11:46:00 PM
My sister had a small sample of the R.S.V.P. benefit creaseless eyeshadow that had been sitting in her drawer for years and decided that she didn't want it anymore and "graciously" gave it to me. I don't waste makeup so I thought I'd try it out. Although it was COMPLETELY dry and the product had shrunk I still managed to scrape some onto my eyelids. And let me tell you... I LOVE this product! Even with its expensive price tag and poor packaging (which is why I gave it a lower lippy). It stayed on my eyes ALL day and is perfect for a pretty look for work. I work in a hot environment so I was impressed that it stayed on as long as it did, without a primer at that! Although I loved this product I would definitely try to find dupes before repurchasing it.. cause lets be honest..thats in intolerable price for ONE eyeshadow!

Toners -LUSH - Tea Tree Water
prettygirl22 4/18/2013 8:18:00 PM
Although it has a pleasing smell, this product did absolutely nothing for me. It does take off makeup very efficiently but for that price I can just buy a cheaper toner to do the job. I feel like my acne stayed the same after I used this product. It is very refreshing first thing in the morning but I noticed that after I put this on my face, followed by my moisturizer, my foundation wouldn't go on nicely. After working all day, I felt that my face was more oily than usual if I put this product on before my foundation. Save yourself the cost, look somewhere else!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro Jel for Blemish-Prone Skin (Fragrance Free version)
prettygirl22 4/18/2013 8:13:00 PM
I used to use this product and felt that it did nothing for me.. Now I realized it was because I wasn't massaging in the product for 30 seconds! After reading reviews on MakeupAlley about spectrogel, I went out and purchased the acne prone bottle (purple label) for sensitive skin. Boy, am I ever glad I did! Although spectrogel does not get ride of current acne, it helps minimize it and stops further acne from developing! It made my skin softer and has really cleared up some of the redness I was experiencing. However, this product does NOT take off existing makeup therefore you must use another product before you use spectrogel. It is very gentle on my sensitive skin. I took the advice of another MakeupAlley contributer and I first rub the gel in circular motions on my DRY face. After doing this for a couple of seconds I wet my fingers and continue the circular motion for about 30 seconds. Than I wash off with water. I purchased the bottle without the pump, therefore I feel that the packaging is a little awkward and comes out quickly. I have really noticed a difference and it is super cheap! Will buy again:)

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free
prettygirl22 4/18/2013 12:04:00 PM
I bought this product in the trial size package which included the moisturizer, foam cleanser, toner, and a spot treatment with Salicylic acid. I have very fair skin and I started using the moisturizer on my face and it dried it out badly! Than I actually READ the back and it said that people with fair skin should just use it on the spots they want gone (not in those exact words). It took a long time to use up my trial size and I purchased the full size bottle at $22, which seems like a lot but it isn't for the time it lasts. My advice would be to ONLY USE as spot treatment on the existing blemishes you want decreased/gone. This moisturizer is too strong to use as a "moisturizer" unless you want to burn off half of your face. Another negative about this product is if you stop using it your face breaks out horribly..this also happened to me with the foam cleanser! However its a great product for spot treatment and I will be purchasing again:)

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - megalast nail color - Sugar Coat
prettygirl22 3/13/2013 11:57:00 PM
I Love the wetnwild megalast line! However this colour is very streaky (like everyone is saying) and its pretty sheer, so you need a min of 2-3 coats. I love the colour but its just too much work. I would go with one of Essies nailpolishes if you're looking for a flawless manicured look, as they have a huge variety of spa like nail polishes to choose from.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
prettygirl22 3/9/2013 8:01:00 PM
I got this product as a birthday gift from Sephora. I was excited to use it as my sister loves Fresh products and recommended them to me. I was relieved to get a smaller size to try as this product is actually quite expensive. I love how dewy and rosy my lips look but the product doesn't last very long. I'm aware that its a treatment but it feels like it stays on for 5 minutes:( Also the product is really soft and can break easily....not really good seeings how expensive it is! The smell is intoxicating and the colour is pretty but I couldn't ever justify purchasing this product, as the cost is not worth what you get in return. I'll stick to my $5.99 rose salve that does the exact same job;)

Eye Makeup Remover -Simple - Eye Make-Up Remover
prettygirl22 3/9/2013 7:52:00 PM
I didn't buy this product, but got it as an extra with my box of Qtips! I feel that it takes off makeup very nicely. The smell is a mix between chemical/perfume but it is tolerable. The packaging is nothing special. I have been looking for an eye makeup remover for sensitive skin and this product meets my expectations! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews? My eyes are already irritated due to my job but this product did NOT irritate them one bit! So happy I got it free!:)

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
prettygirl22 2/29/2012 11:33:00 PM
I was so excited to purchase and try this product! It seemed like the answer to all my problems...a one step foundation that was a "short cut to gorgeous" as the package describes.... This was a HORRIBLE product. I have a lot of redness and combination skin and this made my dry patches stand out and my oily areas appear greasy and slick. It was pretty expensive and it made my skin look orange. It did not cover anything that I needed it to. I now use a maybelline foundation and than I put this on top...just so I can get RID of it and justify the expensive purchase. I used other benefit products and I found the only good thing about them is their appealing packaging...after that there are no "Benefits". I only like HIGH BEAM and the cheek stain. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN AND WALLET!
