Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bella Bamba

I have a love/hate relationship with this blush. I love it because it's the perfect watermelon pink, i honestly haven't found/seen any other color like it. (Maybe I haven't looked correctly), but I could be wrong. It is so pretty on me, for reference im an NC25 and it just flatters me. It dosen't take too much product to show up, and it blends very nicely. Now why I hate it, it's kind of expensive, $28 dollars for a blush (although it does contain more product than usual blushes, the average blush contains 5-6 grams of product, the Bella Bamba contains 8 gms) maybe that's why it costs so much. Anyhow I'd totally justify the price if the blush actually stayed on! I'm not kidding! about 2 hours after i put it on it starts to fade, by the fourth hour it's gone! I don't know what it is, maybe it's the formula?, but I have so many "highend" blushes Ive never had this problem, even the few drugstore blushes I own don't fade away that quickly. The only way I can make this blush last is with a cheek stain and Bella Bamba on top, a good way to resolve an issue, lol. Anyhow even though it's not one I'd recommend due to the poor staying power, it's a beautiful color with a pretty irridecence to it. I'd probably rebuy it (thanx to the stain ;) Final Thoughts: If your on a budget and just want one good pink blush then I'd say skip this one, but if your curious about it and have money to blow then go for it and give it a try ;-)

Cleansers -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

I loveeee these wipes! for the price you seriously CAN'T complain! TBH i was expecting very low quality wipes kind of like the equate makeup removing wipes from walmart or Dollar general etc (you get the point) But i was quite impressed they remove i would say 90-97% of my makeup and of course i ALWAYS follow up with cleaning my face (you should too!) I can see why people would give it a low rating because they're depending on that to 100% remove all makeup but you really shouldn't expect that from ANY makeup removing wipes no matter how expensive or "high end they are". One thing I need to mention is that they do leave a tacky feeling, like a residue film. Im guessing it's due to the aloe & cucumber that it says it has (i think it has cucumber something, LOL) but I don't mind that because like i said i wash my face afterwards... Yea these steps might be too much but i like my face to be really REALLY CLEAN! ESPECIALLY SINCE I USE LONG WEARING MAKEUP ALMOST ON A REGULAR BASIS for long period of time..so yea i'd definately give the a try!

Concealers -MAC - Mineralize Concealer
rated 2 of 5
prettybm09 3/6/2012 11:57:00 PM

I don't like this concealer at all, I tried liking it but Mac could of done a better job. I have it in NW20 for my under eye area. I dont have super dark circles and this dosent seem to fully cover. when I went into Mac i asked the artist that i wanted something hydrating but with good coverage and she suggested this. When she applied it it looked awsome but i did notice it took her a while to really blend it.The artist also said that this was similar to select moisture cover but with an "8 hour wear" pshh yea right! The concealer is almost a gel like liquid consistency. I find that the coverage is a sheer-moderate, and when you try to blend it it's easy to over blend and knock some off. I tried patting it with my ring finger and took me for ever. When i want to build up coverage it almost cakes up and definately settles in my fine/expression lines. The brush applicator is a nice thing but its soo easy to apply to much so you really have to be careful when applying it. After 3-4 hours i look in the mirror and you can start seeing my darkness. This concealer is for people with barely any darkness under their eyes or for anyone that has normal-dry skin. I can definately see this coming off on combo-oily skin ladies faces like mine (if you get it in the NC) So please save your $19 bucks and get yourself a better concealer or sample it first:)

Powder -Laura Mercier - Foundation Powder

i ADORE THIS FOUNDATION! It's my new HOLY GRAIL! wow I Have to say It's my new baby this summer! *YES USUALLY POWDER FOUNDATIONS ARE FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T NEED AS MUCH COVERAGE!* Let me start of by saying that I have combination skin. I get a more oily in the summer (of course what combo skin dosen't) Im a NC25-30 sometimes I can use NW20, and I was matched with No.3 matches pretty good. I Have meduim size pores on my nose and side of my nose, besides that I have a littl bit of redness on my cheek area and some hyperpigmentation. Nothing too serious or hard to cover. Overall I have pretty good skin. So for the summer I was looking for a good coverage, natural looking, long lasting powder foundation. I came across this at Nordstrom and the beauty advisor matched me with No.3 it looked pretty good. I told her i was going to wear it and try it out for the day. I went to work afterwards, sweated, and what not. By the end of my work shift 7 hours the foundation was still soo nicely put, even though I was sweaty, i wasn't a nasty oil slick like what I expirience with other foundations. I just looked nice and dewy. I was very impressed so I ran out and bought it. It retails for $40 USD a little too expensive I have to admit especially for the amount of product you get which is 7.4 grams. before this I was using C3 in MAC studio fix powder+foundation, MAC Studio FP retails for $29.50 for 15 grams. Big difference in price and quantity I know, But I'm willing to pay the price to not get oily, have decent coverage and look natural! I think its a buildable coverage foundation. Use a brush for a more sheer-light coverage, or a sponge or included puff for meduim-full. My usuall routine is after I have moisturize I apply my primer, then i pat my benefit porefessional balm, spray my face with UD deslick spray, use some concealar and set my concealar with this foundation using my 182 kabuki brush. If im in a hurry Ill just do primer, spray and founation with a sponge and spary again! and Im good!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #129 Powder/Blush Brush
rated 3 of 5
prettybm09 6/5/2011 11:28:00 PM

It's funny how people say it sheds like crazy, mine barely sheds anything. Anyway I bought this brush because it's MAC and everyone loves mac and blah blah blah, u know the whole over hype. The brush is soo scratchy it feels just like my revlon blush brush that I got for like $10 bucks at walgreens. It's sad becuase i did a test on my mom and my sister with their eyes closed using MAC 129 on one side of their cheek and revlon BB on the other, and they responded that the side that i had rubbed the MAC brush on was scratchier. MAC retails for $34 bucks USD plus tax, Im VERY dissapointed and Im very hesitant about purchasing more MAC brushes, what if they are all like that?! It washes pretty good, very very minimal shedding,NO bleeding etc. But it's just too scratchy! Places blush perfectly though, if it wasnt scratchy it would have 5 lippies instead of 3... Oh well My favorite blush brush is the Sigma SS168! Ive washed it many times and it's soft as ever!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 3 of 5
prettybm09 5/14/2011 11:43:00 PM

Im an NC25-30, and I was matched with shade 30. I feel like the color is a bit too light for me. anyways, I asked one of the beauty advisors at sephora to help me pick out a foundation that had good coverage and that lasted all day while mentioning my combo skin. She suggested I try this one. After I was matched I was impressed, So I bought it, tried it the next day over my HD primer, unfortunately it was EXTREMELY HUMID which resulted in nasty oil production and at the end of the day i had very little foundation on!! So I gave it another try thank God it wasnt humid the next day, but after 2 hours my nose was a nasty oil slick! The coverage is Good i would say, medium-full buildable coverage, it does feel very light, but it's rather thick which i feel like i have to use more! (weird i know) It does look natural after wearing it for a bit but it ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT keep u matte for long! I don't think its worth it iMO, I wanted to love it, I really did but didnt work for me:( Revlon colorstay is better and cheaper

Eye Shadow -MAC - Veluxe - Mink Pink
rated 1 of 5
prettybm09 1/24/2011 10:36:00 PM

ok let me start off by saying this is THEEE WORST MAC EYESHADOW I HAVE EVER USED! I got this eyeshadow in one of the Color Forecast colections, i think it was the 3rd one. Anyways, unfortunately I was just getting into makeup and got carried away and got5 the pre-made palette for $36 USD i think. I regret buying this soooo freaking much!! couldnt really return it because where Im from we didnt have a nordstrom close by (which is were i bought it). The color is like a baby dirty pink, it looks very muddy, its like suppeerrr sheeer, it just sucks ass! unfortunately it's in their permanent line, I hope they remove it because it's not fair for ppl to buy it thinking its any good. The whole palette is crudd, pease i begg u save ur money and get another eyeshadow, I've seen $2 dollar wet n wild eyeshadows 10X better than this! P.s it dosen't even deseve one lippie!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - SS168 Large Angled Contour Brush
rated 5 of 5
prettybm09 1/24/2011 10:07:00 PM

I bought the Sigma complete kit for like $99 bucks and this brush was included, i honeslty didnt need it but it came in the kit so why not try it,..i don't contour at all, but i use it for blush, i honestly think it works pretty good, looks and feels like the MAC 168, in my opinion its pretty soft, seen softer tho and its dense enough for my preference. It barely sheds anything, i mean if your looking for a cheaper alternative to the MAC 168 or looking for a good contouring/blush brush this is the real deal. It cost only $14 USD, pretty good deal considering drug store brushes like revlon cost somewheres from $10-14 USD.. i like it, had it for about 10 months and works great, i reccommend it. Now u can buy them singles! EDIT: 06/05/11 OMG! WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS I THINKIN WHEN I SAID I WOULDN'T RE-PURCHASE! I RE-DISCOVERED THIS BEAUTY! I LOVE IT FOR BLUSH AND STARTED USING IT EVERYDAY NOW, I OWN THE MAC 129 AND PREFER THIS BRUSH OVER ANYTHING ELSE ANYTIME ANYDAY! IM SO GETTING LIKE 2 MORE!

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Gel Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
prettybm09 9/4/2010 1:46:00 AM

I have to say, I really really like this product... I bought it bcuz it was only like $6.00 at walmart, and it said "pore minimizer". I know sounds lame, but i just felt like i needed to ty something new aside from my clean & clear acne cleanser... anyways when u pump it out it smells soo freakin nice! similar to a curve perfume back when they were the shizz, lol.. Its also very gentle formula dosent irritate my skin or eyes, it claims to be sensitive to the eye area, i took the risk and it does! About the pore minimizer part it does shrink appearance of pores i got to say it just does it within a week or so of usage twice a day. I have insanly large pores on my nose, this really helps shrink em.. oh also it leaves skin real soft and refreshed after every wash:) so i yea i reccommend it!!! :)

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 2 of 5
prettybm09 5/27/2010 1:25:00 PM

Alright so I first tried this product because my cousin had it and she offered a pump, when I tried it at first i was impressed of how pretty my skin looked, Immediately I went to walmart and bought it for $8 USD i think, I wore it for a full day and after like 4 hours it started melting of my face!! I didn't understand I mean I was wearing one of the best primers MUFE HD, it was upseting, then I starting searching for reviews and I wasnt the only one struggling with this foundaiton melting off, even to this day i try it every now and then and by the end of four hours i have no coverage what so ever, at least it dosent break me out.,.Thats mainly the problem I have with this foundation, oh and that it dosent have SPF in it,. i think it was a true waste of money. Will not be purchasing again
