Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
porcaq 5/17/2013 1:33:00 AM
Been using this hand cream for the past year. My hands are very dry, to the point of crackng during winter weather. This is by far the most hydrating (good staying power) hand cream I have used. The cream is thick, but a little goes a long way and some massaging will do the trick. It has a soothing powdery scent, which I prefer over strong chemical ones. It is pricey but th packaging makes it easy to squeeze out everything though.

Treatments -SKII - Repair C
porcaq 5/17/2013 1:09:00 AM
Excellent product for dry skin like mine. No fragrance, absorbs well, can be used around the eyes, and keeps my skin well-hydrated all day. I used to have dry flakes on my cheeks easily (even when using other hydrating serums; am in aircon environment during the day time), but adding this to my daytime routine has solved this problem. Only gripe is this is really expensive, even at the duty-free stores!

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
porcaq 5/17/2013 12:56:00 AM
I have tried many eye creams (estee lauder, clinique, skii, l'oreal, olay), and they are either not hydrating enough or makes my eyes sensitive. This is one I like so far, and it keeps my dry under-eye area well-moisturised. It absorbs well, and is easy to apply (tapping method). I don't expect wrinkle-reduction powers from eye creams, but hydration is always important in line reduction. I got it at the duty-free store (about RMB200 for the 15 gram one), so it is also reasonable.

BB Cream -Laneige - Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF 50+ PA+++
porcaq 5/17/2013 12:44:00 AM
Excellent product. I have tried a few BB products and is still not a fan of any.. This one wins me over. Smooth application, non-cakey even with layering. I have dry skin, and this doesn't dry out on me unlike other powder-form foundations. The coverage is natural and sheer (2 layers can give a light dewy look) and can usually be completed in seconds. The colour is great (i take the lighest shade), it doesn't oxidise and has good staying powder for the whole day even though i have moisturiser beneath it. My hubby actually commented this one looks smooth on me compared with my previous foundations - something rare he would notice! It comes with a refill, so the price is actually reasonable.

Skincare - Face -SKII - Facial Clear Lotion
porcaq 3/20/2013 3:19:00 AM
Excellent toning lotion for getting rid of the excess dirt and whatsoever on the face. I am onto my 3rd or 4th bottle (the 150ml one). It is pricey for a toning lotion, but the duty-free prices are value, especially with the big sizes. It can be a bit dyring for dry skin or weather, so do take note.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Moisturising Cream SPF30
porcaq 1/28/2013 2:52:00 AM
Inexpensive and excellent moisturising sunscreen product. I used to be a loyal fan of the L'oreal UV Perfecx SPF50. It is a good product too but it makes my eyes tear sometimes, maybe due to the fragrance. So I switched to this QV product recently. I have dry skin and this being winter, I use a moisturizer before the QV sunscreen, and it works well. Easy to spread and absorbs well, no balling up or white cast.

Masks -Laneige - Water Sleeping Pack
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:23:00 AM
Comes in a huge 80gram tub, and at the DFS stores, it usually comes in a twin set, very good value. If you use it only once or twice a week, one tub can last you for a long time. The fragrance is quite nice and it is a bit sticky upon application, but absorbs after a few minutes. It provides some hydration in warm weather (or air-conditioned rooms). But for long-lasting hydration for drier skin types, this is not sufficient.

Moisturizers -Laneige - Water Bank Cream 2
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:20:00 AM
This works well for me in humid summer weather. It has a strong fragrance and is easy to spread and absorbs. But for drier climates/skin or more mature skin, this is probably too lightweight.

Skincare - Face -Laneige - Water Bank Essence
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:16:00 AM
Absorbs easily, and is good in warm, humid weather. But for drier skin types, this might not be enough. It comes in a good-value package at DFS stores and of course, Korea. Not sure if i would repurchase it though since my skin is dry most of the time. The fragrance can be a bit strong if you are not a fan of scents.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair (Serum)
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:11:00 AM
Very good for dry climates or skin types. Helps to keep the skin well-hydrated and perks up the skin. The pump is also convenient for application. The texture is runny but absorbs well and fast. But it is very pricey unless you get the 100ml version from the DFS stores. A product I would keep for winter time.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - All Clear Deep Cleansing Oil
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:09:00 AM
This is a very good-value alternative to the Fancl's mild cleansing oil (also a very good remover in its own right). It comes in a bigger bottle at a lower price than Fancl's. It removes makeup well and I like it that it is gentle; doesn't leave the face greasy after cleansing (cleans easily), or dry (some cleansing oil seems to strip the face of moisture after cleansing). Except for a weird fragrance (nothing attractive or disturbing about it, so I can still tolerate it), this is a staple in my bathroom.

Moisturizers -SKII - Cellumination Deep Surge
porcaq 4/27/2012 2:03:00 AM
Slick packaging, and nice scent. It does impart some radiance to the skin after some time, but for the price, I think I would stick with the Renew White Plus range by Laniege, which delivers better results at a lower price. But it is a good lightweight moisturier for warm weather or if you have more oily skin types though, cos it absorbs well.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
porcaq 4/27/2012 1:59:00 AM
I have dry and sensitive skin, and I need to moisturise constantly, even in summer weather. This cleanser by Cetephil is my saviour, and I appreciate the fact that it comes in varying sizes (including big 1-litre pumps). It is highly affordable, so it makes for a good budget buy for the whole family. It is in liquid form and you can apply it easily on your skin, and it washes off easily too. It is non-fragranced, so it is great for sensitive skin. It is also a gentle cleanser for the face, without the tightness or drying of normal foaming cleansers.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
porcaq 4/27/2012 1:54:00 AM
A good-value product, effective and gentle in removing waterproof eye makeup. I have used removers from different brands, and so far, this one proves to be the most effective (soak a cotton pad with it and press over your eye makeup area for around 10 seconds), and i have been stocking up on it whenever I can. It is convenient for those who only apply eye makeup and dont want to be bothered with using general makeup removers (like cleansing oil).

Moisturizers -SKII - Skin Signature Cream
porcaq 4/27/2012 1:49:00 AM
I love this product. It is pricey (but comes in a bigger-than-usual 80gram tub), but works well on my dry-normal skin. I got compliments on my skin (firm and clear) when i was using this product continuously for a year (i coupled it with the Facial Treatment Essence from SKII). It is a bit greasy for summer/warm weather in daytime, but can be toned down with some loose powder after sunblock application. I like the texture a lot, soft and silky. It is non-fragranced, a bonus if you can't take scents.
