Blush -Revlon - Baby Stick in Sunset
poneegryl 4/27/2013 2:18:00 PM
add me to the list of disappointed customers! this was sooo hard to find that when i finally found one on a display, i snatched it up at the ridiculous full price. i really love cheek sticks, packaging-wise, but this had zero color payoff and a thick sticky waxy texture.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Caresse Lipstick in Fiery Veil/#177
poneegryl 1/28/2013 3:09:00 AM
i like the other colors in this, but fiery veil was ridiculous. the color bleeds, its garrish, and application is streaky. no go for me.

Eye Shadow -Essence - Stay All Day Glammy Goes To
poneegryl 1/7/2013 12:33:00 AM
Loved the coppery penny color and the concept, however it's a disaster from there. The color goes on unevenly, creases, and SOMEHOW by the end of the day I have shimmers eeeeverywhere. So much micro glitter fallout and it settled in creases and pores, you name it. Just terrible. Save your money for Maybelline eye tattoos.

Foundations -Burberry - Sheer Foundation
poneegryl 1/2/2013 3:28:00 AM
this was a surprising discovery... we went on a ski trip and i left my cosmetics bag on the counter at home!!! argh! i was in rare form with hubby until i found the little sample in my purse of burberry sheer fnd from a nordstrom SA. Ahhh this made the trip. we were outside, in wind and cold, and on vacation so pics were taken - and this delivered! it photographs well and feel comfy on my dry skin. looks a touch mask-like at first, but wait 2 min and voila! it sorta morphs to your skin. finish is dewy and u only need a tiny tiny bit, otherwise the coverage will be just offff, since this is really meant to be sheer, not heavy, but definitely more weight to it than a TM. scent is creamy rose, very light. feels, smells, looks, and IS expensive. i dont mind paying more for fnd since it lasts a long time and really preps the canvas for the rest of your makeup. it was a splurge, though, so this one is on display on my counter where it looks tres chic!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Comet Eau De Toilette Refillable Spray
poneegryl 1/1/2013 12:43:00 AM
Ok, I DID give this a low rate for the bottle, because i think the Angel line has some really cheesy bottles and I'm not really into powder blue, thankyouverymuch-- BUT, I have discovered that I love this EDT version of Angel. It doesn't have that horrible foot smell or BO stench that the original has. That said, it still has a gourmand/floriental profile. I definitely get pathchouli and cedar here, but it's topped off with a soapy/flowery omg-I-need-to-sniff-more-ness. It's tough to describe. It's that je ne sais quois that makes you follow a yummy smelling lady in the store... For reference: I LOVE Euphoria, Aqua di Gio, Shi by Alfred Sung, Vera Wang, and Jil Sander #4. My HG frag is the Original Victoria, by Victoria's Secret. HTHS!

Blush -Essence - All Products
poneegryl 12/5/2012 11:21:00 PM
there aren't many reviews of this awesome bargain brand, so i gotta chime in: Essence rox! its my cheap thrill of the moment. i have 4 LE blushes. 1) Renesmee Red, from twilight collection, true red powder blush 2) Ready For Boarding lip & cheek creme in 02 Beauty on Tour, a bright coral pink 3) Ready For Boarding lip & cheek creme in 01 Sending You Kisses, a bright berry 4) Legends of the Sky 01 No Better Way to Sky, dusty apricot powder blush the cremes are matte, show up, and last long. the powders are finely milled, apply VERY smoothly and evenly and true to color. no breakouts or sensitivities at all. i love love love clear lucite packaging bc you can SEE the color so well and the lids snap on firmly-- no stupid twist shut crap. i am keeping a tightlined eagle eye out for the next LE collection!

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
poneegryl 8/21/2012 2:30:00 AM
Ok, now I am a believer! This has been hyped on the boards for a while now, but I'm a picky, picky person with mascaras. I like LOUD lashes. I want killer special effects. This won't ever be my going-out MS, but for everyday? h-ell-yah. Two coats, no base, and good to go. Excellent brush (not too big or small). Formula is damp enough but not slimey wet-- it dried quick, dark, and without clumps. With a base, more coats and intense application, I think the payoff could be really good. Sucha great little find! I plan to use it for either my purse or glovebox or gym bag. 12/4/12: edited to reduce to 2 lippies. the formula really burns when it gets in your eyes and dries too fast. its heavy and clumpy like tar. starts flaking and horribly crumbling by end of day. pulls out my eyelashes and makes my lids itch. bad.bad... but cheap...but still bad.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - LA Splash - Diamond Lux Intense Color
poneegryl 8/21/2012 2:17:00 AM
I got an LA Splash Illuminating Highlighting Pressed Shadow recently on sale for under $3. The color is "Romance" and it's a weirdly irridescent duochromatic pale pinky beigey color, similar to MAC Vex. Very strange and unique. The texture is uber soft and crumbles easily. One swipe delivers a ton of product. I'm wearing it as a single lid wash over Maybelline color tattoo as a base. Really brightens the eyes! The other color choices looked really interesting, especially Mystically(deep plum), Antiqued(gold-flecked cocoa), and Heavenly(a truly gorgeous taupe). There is a Stila Kitten dupe as well. Great for a cheap thrill!

Liquid -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Foundation
poneegryl 8/4/2012 3:13:00 PM
I continue to buy this. It is thick, full coverage for sure. I only use it on my lids, sides of nose, and any blemishes. For under eye, I thin it a little with TM. HERE IS WHY IT ROCKS: the mineral formula is quite drying! So, it's perfect for oily eyelids and drying up a pimple(best thing ever!) It never irritates my sensitive skin and doesn't melt away. The color Sand is a perfect match for me, even though I'm usually medium beige in every other brand.

Eye Shadow -Essence - Mono Eyeshadow in Back to khaki (45)
poneegryl 8/4/2012 3:05:00 PM
This is such an awesome color. Velvety irridescent shimmery duochrome. I use it as a single wash or intense lid. Probably use at as much a Stila Kitten. I like it with Maybelline eye tattoo Tough as Taupe as a base-- it lasts 24 hrs that way. The package rocks. I love my shadows to be in clear lucite casings. It looks pretty and shows off the color, plus it's easy to open but stays snapped shut. I want 3 back-ups!

Treatments -Keys - Treat It Amazing Leave In 12 in 1 Hair Treatment
poneegryl 8/4/2012 2:59:00 PM
I, too, got this at a discount store-- so maybe it's being discontinued? Anyway, we swim a lot and the chlorine is so damaging, so I wanted just a quick, one-step leave-in after shampooing and conditioning with Argan oil products. This is IT! Not a miracle and do NOT put it on your roots or you'll have totally flat hair. It's great for spraying on middle to ends. Then either air dry or blow dry. I notice with a blowdry and big brush, I get really nice straightened hair that has lasted a few days. I put a bottle in my guest bath, too. Great for lazy hair days:)

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Expansion [DISCONTINUED]
poneegryl 2/3/2008 10:44:00 PM
Mascara is the cornerstone of my beauty routine. i don't feel put together without it. that being said, i have tried many! right now i am alternating between LE and faux cils. I like this stuff b/c it's cheaper and doesn't dry out my lashes as much as the faux cils, even though the packaging is hella ugly. the formula is a bit wet so i sometimes smudge it when im applying but i love the length i get from it...A-mazing! fyi: i never go for volumizing mascaras, i am all about dramatic-touching-my-eyebrows length.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
poneegryl 11/19/2007 12:28:00 AM
i am always hearing how great this stuff is so i slapped my money and the table and decided to try it. yikes. this givs lift volume and dramatic color. not as much length as i'd like though not bad. the brush is huge and hard to get used to. i keep smudging it on my lid. the smell is really strong. the lid cracked after only a week and the silver foil on the label is flaking off. i wanted to love it... then, i thought i had pink eye and stopped wearing makeup for a while. turns out it wasn't an eye infection at all--- i'm actually allergic to this mascara!!! for all the hassle i could have bought a new tube of l'oreal lash out and called it a day.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
poneegryl 11/15/2007 11:00:00 PM
this is my fave eyeshadow at the moment. it's a sandy pale pink shimmer color. i wear it several different ways. extremely soft and pigmented. i like to apply with a fingertip. breaks easily--warning!! the packaging is terrible but this is one i can't live without.

Lip Gloss -Aveda - Lip Shine Nude
poneegryl 1/13/2006 1:04:00 PM
this is called nude, but it is actually clear. it's a little more pricy than my usual drugstore chapstick but i got it for xmas. it's a shiny gloss in a squeeze tube with a nice angled applicator. there's no flavor (maybe a little beeswax-ish) and the smell is a herbal/minty combo that is tough to describe. the texture is thick and slippery, with a very slight stickiness that makes it last. edited: i took off one lippie bc the smell can be annoying at times.
